Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of instilling values of tolerance and positive social behavior in elementary school students amid cultural diversity. The use of interactive visual learning media is necessary to help students in the concrete operational phase understand these abstract concepts. This study aims to examine the effect of the Light-Up Map Media on students' social behavior, both directly and through Diversity Awareness Score as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research subjects are all 54 fifth-grade students at SDN Kedungdalem II. Data collection techniques use a Likert scale questionnaire. Data are analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques with the help of SmartPLS 4 software. The results show that the Light-Up Map Media does not have a significant direct effect on students' social behavior. However, this media has a significant effect on diversity awareness, which in turn affects students' social behavior. This proves that diversity awareness acts as a full mediator. These findings conclude that the effectiveness of learning media in changing students' social behavior is highly dependent on the success of the process of internalizing the value of diversity awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differential effects of Problem Based Learning and video animation on the affective and cognitive domains of elementary secondary school students. The research approach uses a quantitative method with an explanatory research design. The research population amounted to 53 students, all of whom were sampled through saturated sampling techniques. Affective domain data was collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, while the cognitive domain was measured through learning outcome tests. Data analysis was carried out using the MANOVA test and multiple linear regression with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the study showed that there was a significant simultaneous influence of Problem Based Learning and animated videos on the affective and cognitive domains of students. Partial analysis showed that Problem Based Learning was more dominant in improving cognitive learning outcomes, while animated videos were more powerful in improving students' affective domains. These findings indicate a differential effect between the model and learning media in the context of multiple classes. Proportionate integration of the two approaches is recommended to optimize the quality of learning. This research makes an empirical contribution to the development of evidence-based learning strategies in elementary school dual classes.

Abstract

Learning independence is a crucial aspect of the human resource development process in education. This study aims to explore the influence of the recitation method, learning motivation, and time management on the learning independence of students in economic subjects at MAN Kota Pasuruan. Using an explanatory research design with a quantitative approach, data were collected from 165 tenth-grade students selected through proportional random sampling. Data collection utilized Likert-scale questionnaires validated for reliability and validity. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to test the hypotheses. The results of the simultaneous test (F-test) showed a significant influence of all three independent variables on learning independence (p < 0.001). Individually, the t-test results revealed that time management has the most dominant positive influence (coefficient 0.374), followed by the recitation method (0.289) and learning motivation (0.274). The R-square value of 0.620 indicates that these variables collectively explain 62% of the variance in student independence. These findings underscore the importance of integrating structured assignments, psychological encouragement, and time-management skills to foster independent learners.

Abstract

21st-century education requires students not only to master knowledge but also to possess critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative thinking skills (4C skills) to address global challenges. This quantitative correlational study examines the impact of e-learning, self-efficacy, and learning motivation on critical thinking skills in elementary science. The research was conducted with all 63 fourth-grade students at SDN Wonoasih 2 Probolinggo. The research instrument was deemed valid and reliable, and the data were analyzed using classical assumption tests, including the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test for normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. This was followed by t-tests, F-tests, and determination coefficients (R²). The analysis revealed a significant collective impact of e-learning, self-efficacy, and learning motivation on critical thinking. Motivation emerged as the most dominant contributing factor, with self-efficacy and e-learning exhibiting subsequently lesser, yet still significant, influence. Simultaneously, the three variables explained 46.5% of the variation in critical thinking ability, while the remaining factors influenced the remaining variation. These findings underscore the importance of integrating problem-solving-based e-learning, enhancing self-efficacy through constructive feedback, and promoting motivation for relevance-based learning and autonomy. The following study suggested adding other variables, such as learning style, family support, and infrastructure readiness, by using a qualitative or mixed-methods approach, and expanding the sample across different levels and regions to improve generalizability.
