Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of corn-oriented social skills-based e-modules in elementary school science learning. Where in this research there are two problems, namely how the attractiveness of e-modules is proven by teacher and student questionnaire responses and how students understand science learning using electronic-based modules. This research uses qualitative research methods using descriptive research carried out at SDN 1 Proppo Pamekasan. The subjects in this research were class V students at SDN 1 Proppo Pamekasan, with a total of 16 students. 11 male students and 5 female students. Researchers used data collection techniques through observations, interviews and questionnaires. The data obtained by researchers is that students need digital-based teaching materials, namely electronic modules that support students to learn. The attractiveness of using E-Modules as proven by the student response questionnaire obtained a percentage result of 90% and the teacher percentage results obtained 100%. It can be concluded that E- The module can be said to be interesting and usable. Student learning outcomes after using corn-oriented social skills-based e-modules in elementary science learning show classical completion criteria, namely ≥ 85% of students reach the KKM.

This research aimed to develop teaching materials with agricultural insight to introduce of agriculture in primary school students in Indonesia. The research used the research and development (RD) method. Development was carried out using the Borg and Gall model, including: research and informing collecting, planning, preliminary development, and preliminary field testing and main product revision. The research results indicated that: i) the teaching material that was successfully developed was in the form of a textbook entitled “I love agriculture”. This book contains ten materials on agricultural, and ii) the test results showed that the agriculturaloriented teaching materials are of good quality. From the product eligibility test involving material experts and media experts, the average assessment score was 86.25%, while the average assessment score from students reached 85.25%. This research implied that students could get to know and love agriculture through learning activities at school.

Abstract

The decision to become teacher is greatly influenced by certain motivations such as altruistic, intrinsic, and extrinsic. Examining these motivations influencing individuals’ decisions to become teachers is essential for sustainable professional development. This is because no previous publication has focused on Generation Z’s (Gen Z) extrinsic motivations to pursue teaching profession. Therefore, this study aimed to explore motivations of Gen Z to become teachers in elementary schools. A qualitative analysis was adopted with a focus group discussion method including 58 pre-service teachers learning at the primary school teacher education program. Furthermore, the participants in the analysis were aged 18-22 years and also fell into the Gen Z category. Data obtained from the participants was further analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that extrinsic motivations underlying the desire of Gen Z to become teachers originated from the high social respect teaching receives from society, the promise of prosperity, and adequate employment opportunities. Extrinsic motivations also originated from childhood experiences inspired by religious teachings and the parents. The study further emphasized the importance of understanding the participants’ motivations for entering teaching profession to improve recruitment systems, providing motivation, set hours and workloads, as well as welfare systems for Gen Z teachers.

Abstract

The problem of organic waste in the school environment, particularly at SDN Keleyan 1, remains a challenge in creating a clean and healthy environment. The large amount of organic waste generated daily, such as food scraps and leaves, is not managed properly, thus potentially polluting the surrounding environment. One solution that can be implemented is processing organic waste into compost, which not only provides ecological benefits but can also be used as an educational tool for students. This article aims to describe practical and educational activities in processing organic waste into compost in grade 3 of SDN Keleyan 1. Through an approach involving socialization, demonstrations, and direct mentoring, students are encouraged to understand and practice the process of processing organic waste in a simple and effective way. The results of the implementation of the activity showed an increase in students' knowledge and skills in processing organic waste into compost independently. In addition, this activity also succeeded in building students' awareness of the importance of maintaining a clean environment and the sustainability of the school ecosystem. Overall, this activity has proven effective in educating students about organic waste management and introducing the concept of environmental sustainability from an early age, thereby creating a cleaner, healthier, and environmentally conscious school environment

Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the major environmental problems that continues to increase, including within school environments. Its non-biodegradable nature makes plastic a type of waste that potentially pollutes soil, water, and air if not properly managed. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an ecobrick pot-making program in reducing the amount of plastic waste at SD Negeri Keleyan 1 Socah Bangkalan, to raise students’ and teachers’ awareness of sustainable waste management, and to assess the use of ecobricks as planting media. This research employed a qualitative approach with an Action Research method carried out through the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the ecobrick program successfully reduced the amount of scattered plastic waste, prevented waste-burning practices, and transformed plastic into useful planting pots. In addition, the program enhanced the participation of students, teachers, and parents in maintaining school cleanliness and fostered collective awareness of environmentally friendly behavior. In conclusion, the ecobrick program at SD Negeri Keleyan 1 Socah Bangkalan proved effective in reducing plastic waste accumulation while simultaneously supporting school greening activities through the utilization of ecobricks as planting media.
