Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the responses of the training participants in making digital teaching materials according to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum at IAIN Curup. This activity was carried out in July 2022 at the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN Curup). The target audience for this service activity is the education community, namely IAIN Curup. The target of this service is lecturers at IAIN Curup. However, the research sample was only 25 lecturers who were participants in the training held by the service team from Bengkulu University. Data was collected by means of surveys in the form of response questionnaires distributed to lecturers who were trainees whose purpose was to measure the success of this activity process. These results were then analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The questionnaire used as a data collection tool in this activity was developed by following a modified Likert Scale with 4 answer choices, namely strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. The results of this study shows that the training has been carried out well, both in terms of the material, the method of delivery, the software used, how to guide practical activities and the compatibility between digital teaching materials made with the characteristics that teaching materials must possess. In addition, this training activity is also able to motivate or encourage training participants to create and provide digital teaching materials that arein accordance with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) by considering the needs of students, campuses, and regions, and encouraging them to be more creative in innovating teaching materials.

Abstract

This community service project aims to optimize the learning process by implementing ethnoscience-based physics instruction at MA Al Karim Bengkulu Tengah. The goal is to address the limitations of facilities and infrastructure that hinder the learning process, ultimately enhancing students' skills, knowledge, and academic performance. The program is carried out in several stages. The first stage involves an initial observation at MA Al Karim Bengkulu Tengah to obtain a detailed understanding of the school's conditions. The second stage includes outreach and coordination with the principal, teachers, and especially the physics teachers. The third stage involves providing skill training for the teachers on the concept of ethnoscience, which is then applied directly to the students during the learning process. The final stage consists of regular evaluations and mentoring involving MBKM students and physics teachers to ensure that the community service activities bring about improvements in the learning process. Through the ethnoscience training at MA Al Karim Bengkulu Tengah, it is hoped that both teachers and students will be able to enhance their skills and optimize the learning process despite the existing limitations in facilities and infrastructure. Based on the outcomes of this program, it can be concluded that the training had a positive impact on teachers' skills by utilizing the ethnoscience concept, which leverages the cultural diversity and local traditions of the community, even in the face of limited facilities and infrastructure. Ethnoscience concept can be very useful on improving learning activity at the school and also will enhance the learning experience.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The use of artificial intelligence (ai) technology has the potential to improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students, especially in hydrodynamics courses that require analytical and problem-solving skills. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of gemini-assisted learning compared to conventional learning. The research method used a pretest–posttest design by comparing n-gain critical thinking and problem solving in three categories of initial abilities (low, medium, high). The results show that the control class with conventional learning only experienced low to moderate improvement in both critical thinking and problem solving abilities (n-gain 0.16–0.43). In contrast, the experimental class that used ai-gemini experienced a significant increase with n-gain in the moderate to high category (0.47–0.76). All groups achieved post-test scores in the high to very high category. These findings indicate that the integration of ai gemini is capable of providing rapid feedback, adaptive explanations, and conceptual support that strengthen the development of students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ai-based learning is recommended as an innovative alternative in hydrodynamics lectures   Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Gemini, Hydrodynamics, critical thinking, problem solving.

Abstract

Low cognitive learning outcomes in kinematics are often caused by the limitations of conventional learning media in visualizing abstract physics concepts. The objectives of this study are to describe the feasibility of the media, student responses, and improvements in students’ cognitive learning outcomes. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. A One-Group Pretest-Posttest design was applied during the implementation phase involving 30 students of class X at State High School 10 Bengkulu. Research instruments included an expert validation questionnaire, a learning outcome test, and a questionnaire for student responses. The results of the study indicate that the Scratch-based learning media with dynamic simulations received an expert validation score of 94.44%, a student response rate of 91.60%, and an N-Gain score of 0.85. It is determined from the discussion and overall research findings that the Scratch-based learning media with dynamic simulations is suitable for use. The use of this media in the learning process can improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes and receives an excellent response from students. Practically, this study implies that Scratch-based learning media can be used by teachers as an interactive and effective instructional tool to facilitate students’ understanding of abstract physics concepts, particularly in kinematics.
