Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students in the topic of rights and obligations in Civic Education indicate the need for innovative instructional media that can enhance student engagement and comprehension. The absence of culturally based, engaging media also poses a challenge in optimizing meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to develop, validate, and evaluate the effectiveness of an interactive learning media called BaLe LaLi (Belajar Lewat Lagu Bali), which integrates a traditional Balinese song into culture-based learning. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects involved three experts (content, instructional design, and media), as well as 32 fourth-grade students divided into individual testing (3 students), small group testing (9 students), and field testing (20 students). Data were collected through observation, interviews, validation questionnaires, and learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test), and analyzed using the paired sample t-test. The findings reveal that BaLe LaLi media is highly valid with an average score of 93.5%, and effectively improves student learning outcomes, with the mean score increasing from 68.5 in the pre-test to 86.59 in the post-test (t = 4.899; p < 0.05). Besides enhancing academic performance, this media is relevant for character building and preserving local culture through learning. Abstract

The low level of social attitudes among elementary school students, such as a lack of empathy, cooperation, and concern for others, is reflected in behaviors such as indifference, mocking peers, and reluctance to help classmates in learning. This condition highlights the importance of implementing a learning model that can effectively cultivate social values from an early age. This study aims to examine the effect of the Cooperative Learning model of the Group Investigation type assisted by card sort media on students' social attitudes in the Pancasila Education subject in third-grade elementary school. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The study population consisted of 152 third-grade elementary school students. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument, and the data were analyzed using inferential statistics through a t-test. The hypothesis testing results showed that at a significance level of 0.5, the value of tcount = 10.433 and ttable = 1.687, indicating that tcount > ttable, which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, there is a significant effect of the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model of the Group Investigation type assisted by card sort media on students' social attitudes. This study implies that the learning process can be more effective and efficient in instilling social and moral values through the Pancasila Education subject and is expected to help students develop social attitudes in line with educational goals.

Abstract

Cooperation trains children to interact positively, respect others, and understand that collective success is more important than individual achievement alone. Nowadays, the decline of students’ cooperative character has become a major challenge for teachers. This study aims to analyze the effect of the 5E Learning Cycle model assisted by the Snakes and Ladders game on students’ cooperative character in social studies learning for fourth-grade elementary school students. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of 282 students, and through cluster random sampling, 32 students were assigned respectively to the experimental group and the control group. Data were collected using a four-point scale questionnaire and analyzed with a t-test. The results showed that the experimental group had an average post-test score of 89.80% (high category), while the control group had 69.06% (moderate category). The t-test produced tcount = 15.743 > ttable = 1.999, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, the 5E Learning Cycle model assisted by the Snakes and Ladders game had a significant effect on students’ cooperative character in social studies learning. The implication of this study is that it can serve as a reference for innovative learning strategies that encourage active student engagement while instilling social values relevant to the Pancasila Student Profile.
