Abstract

The purpose of this study is to 1) describe the main characters, Srikuning and Sudjana, in the novel Sri Kuning by R. Hardjowirogo; 2) explain the nature of inner conflict; 3) identify the causing factors; and 4) explain how the characters resolve their conflict. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with Sigmund Freud's literary psychology approach that relates to the id, ego, and superego. The data collection technique is carried out through a literature study by reading carefully over and over again. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Srikuning's character: coquettish, assertive, wise, etc.; Sudjana's character: skilled in fighting, careful, honest, etc. 2) The form of Srikuning's inner conflict: anger, sadness, inner conflict, etc., whereas Sudjana's: anger, sadness, heartlessness, etc. 3) Factors that cause Srikuning's inner conflict: being set up by Subagja and Bendara Juru, being defamed by Bendara Juru, etc., whereas Sudjana's are: Subagja interfering with his affairs with Srikuning, being emotionally provoked by Pak Thiwul, etc. 4) Direct aggression, diversion, and rationalisation are Srikuning's methods of resolving conflict, whereas Sudjana uses regression and rationalisation to handle it.

Abstract

Background Problems: Self-regulation, which includes positive behavior, metacognitive awareness, and motivation, is critical to adolescents' development.  Despite its benefits in structured activities such as martial arts, there is a lack of existing tools to assess self-regulation among adolescent martial arts participants. This study addresses this gap by developing an instrument to measure adolescents' self-regulation abilities. Research Objectives: This research aims to adapt an instrument in the form of a questionnaire to measure self-regulation in martial arts activities. Methods: The author uses the cross-cultural adaptation method. Adapting research instruments is not just a language change. There is an aspect of cross-cultural adaptation that is important so that the research instrument can measure what it should measure (valid) and be reliable (consistent in measurement). A total of 58 participants were involved in three stages of instrument validity, consisting of 21 pencak silat students, 18 karate students, and 19 taekwondo students who were selected proportionally. Findings/Results: After data analysis, the results of this research are 67 SR-MAQ question items declared valid and reliable. Conclusion: The development of the SR-MAQ instrument allows for the measurement of the self-regulation of teenage martial arts practitioners, contributing to their positive development. To expand the utility and generalisability of this instrument, we need further research involving a wider age range and participants from different types of martial arts. This will not only increase the relevance of the findings but also provide richer insights into the role of self-regulation in various adolescent activity contexts.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan media sosial menjadikan YouTube sebagai platform yang strategis dalam penyebaran dakwah, namun keberhasilan penggunaannya sangat bergantung pada efektivitas pengelolaan konten, mulai dari tahap perencanaan, produksi, distribusi hingga evaluasi. Artikel ini mengkaji efektivitas implementasi fungsi-fungsi manajemen dalam pengelolaan kanal YouTube LognewsTV sebagai sarana dakwah di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dalam pengelolaan LognewsTV sebagai media dakwah serta faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif digunakan, melibatkan tiga informan utama yang berperan langsung dalam pengelolaan kanal tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tim LognewsTV telah berhasil menerapkan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dengan baik, terutama dalam aspek perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan konten dakwah yang konsisten. Meski menghadapi tantangan seperti keterbatasan sumber daya manusia dan perubahan algoritma YouTube, penggunaan data analitik membantu tim dalam menyesuaikan strategi konten dengan preferensi audiens. Fleksibilitas dan dedikasi tim menjaga kualitas serta keberlanjutan konten, sehingga pengelolaan kanal YouTube LognewsTV dinilai efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan dakwah di era digital.

Abstract

Inclusive education in the contemporary era presents both challenges and opportunities to establish a just and equitable educational framework for all students, devoid of discrimination. The objective of this research is to analyse the incorporation of Islamic values within inclusive education, drawing upon Muhammad Abduh's perspectives on modern education. This study employs a qualitative methodology, utilising a literature review approach to delve into Abduh's ideas through an examination of his works and relevant literature pertaining to Islamic education. The findings indicate that Abduh advocates for an educational paradigm grounded in universal Islamic values, such as justice, tolerance, and rahmatan lil 'alamin, which resonate with the principles of inclusive education. He underscores the necessity of harmonising religious teachings with scientific inquiry, as well as the implementation of flexible pedagogical methods to cater to the diverse needs of students. These values are deemed capable of fostering an adaptive learning environment and facilitating the inclusion of all children, including those with special needs. The implications of this research suggest that the integration of Islamic values into inclusive education may serve as an effective strategy in addressing global challenges, whilst also nurturing a generation equipped with both intellectual and moral acumen. Consequently, Muhammad Abduh's insights significantly contribute to the realisation of an education system that is inclusive, humanistic, and attuned to the demands of contemporary society.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of sago flour addition on the physicochemical and organoleptic characteristics of dencis fish crackers (Decapterus macrosoma). The crackers were produced with varying concentrations of sago flour at 0% (B1), 20% (B2), 40% (B3), and 60% (B4), employing an experimental approach based on a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The analysis results indicated that the water content of the crackers increased with higher concentrations of sago flour, while the ash content exhibited a decreasing trend. Additionally, the fat content increased; however, both the swelling volume and oil absorption capacity decreased. The hedonic test results revealed that panelists exhibited a preference for crackers made exclusively from tapioca flour (B1), with a notable decline in preference for color, taste, and crispiness as the concentration of sago flour increased. These findings suggest that utilizing sago flour in reduced quantities or in combination with other flours may enhance the quality of the crackers. It is recommended that future research explore alternative formulations for the crackers and investigate different cooking methods to achieve optimal gelatinization of sago starch.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of static stretching on flexibility improvement in Taekwondo athletes. Specifically, the purpose of the research is to observe the effects of implementing this method over 14 sessions (conducted three times per week). The research method used is an experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of 12 athletes. To measure flexibility, the study employed the Maximal Hip Flexion Activation Knee Extension (MHFAKE) test. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results show that static stretching significantly improves flexibility, with the average score increasing from 35.83 to 21.66 (50.00%). The Wilcoxon test indicated a p-value of 0.002 < 0.05, meaning the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and there is a significant effect. In conclusion, static stretching has a significant impact on the improvement of flexibility in Taekwondo athletes' muscles.

Abstract

Background: Stress and anxiety have become significant mental health challenges in the modern era. In addition to pharmacological and psychological therapies, physical activity is increasingly recognized as an effective strategy for managing mental health. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of physical activity in reducing stress and anxiety and provide evidence-based policy recommendations. Methods: This study employs a systematic literature review, sourcing data from EBSCO, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, IEEE Access, and DOAJ. The analysis follows the PRISMA framework, consisting of six key stages: defining the research question, identifying relevant studies, selecting studies, mapping data, synthesizing results, and expert consultation. Results: Regular moderate-intensity physical activity, such as jogging, yoga, and cycling, has been found effective in reducing stress and anxiety through the release of endorphins and serotonin. Additionally, participation in group exercise activities enhances social support, further benefiting mental health. Conclusion: Physical activity is an effective non-pharmacological intervention and should be integrated into public health policies. Greater access to community-based exercise programs is needed to support mental health initiatives.

Abstract

Cyprinus rubrofuscus has high economic value as a freshwater ornamental fish, in demand in the international market. The growth of koi fish can be increased by adding probiotics to the feed. This addition can benefit fish health and water quality if given in the correct dose. This study was conducted to see the effect of different doses of probiotics in the feed on koi growth. The study was conducted from February 2023 to February 2024, with treatments administered from May 28 to July 7, 2023. The design was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of four treatments (PB0, PB10, PB15, PB20) with three replications. The parameters measured included growth in length, weight, specific growth rate, and survival. At the end of the study, it was found that adding probiotic doses had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on weight, length, and specific growth rate, but did not affect survival. The PB15 dose gave the best results, with a weight gain of 0.46 ± 0.66 g and a particular growth rate of 1.88 ± 0.11% per day.

Abstract

The sacredness of Gunung Kawi Malang is deeply associated with the figures of Kiai Zakaria II (Eyang Djoego) and R.M Iman Sujana. This study examines the phenomenology of sacredness at Gunung Kawi Malang, focusing on its conceptual underpinnings and implications. Central to this inquiry is the Serat Iman Sujana manuscript, discovered at Gunung Kawi Malang, which provides key insights into the sacredness attributed to the site. Employing a phenomenological approach, this research interprets the layers of sacred meaning embedded in Gunung Kawi Malang, particularly in light of its historical role as a center for mystical practices, including pesugihan rituals. Additionally, a literature study of the Serat Iman Sujana manuscript was conducted to deepen the analysis. Findings reveal that the sacralization of Gunung Kawi Malang is significantly influenced by Kiai Zakaria II (Eyang Djoego) and R.M Iman Sujana. The connection between these figures and the Serat Iman Sujana manuscript is reflected in the presence of Raden Iman Sujana as a key character, whereas Kiai Zakaria II is notably absent from the text. The manuscript portrays Iman Sujana as a waliyullah (Allah representative), tracing his lineage back to the apostle of Allah. If, as the Kekancingan letter suggests, Iman Sujana was the great-grandfather of Hamengkubuwana I, then the sanctification of Gunung Kawi Malang through these figures aligns with the broader tradition of Islamic scholarship. Additionally, oral traditions depict Iman Sujana not only as a spiritual scholar but also as a soldier and mentor to Pangeran Diponegoro, further reinforcing his multifaceted role in both religious and historical narratives.

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on the influence of religiosity and the level of understanding of Sharia insurance on the decision to become a Sharia insurance policyholder. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that the decision of customers to use Sharia insurance increased by 4.544%, even without changes in other independent variables such as religiosity and understanding. Religiosity was found to have a positive influence, contributing to a 40.4% increase in decisions, while increased knowledge related to Sharia insurance products had a positive impact of 40.8%. The SPSS analysis results indicate that 80.6% of the variation in customer decisions can be explained by these two variables, while the remaining 19.4% is influenced by other factors not included in the regression model. This study highlights that both religiosity and knowledge play crucial roles in influencing customer decisions to choose Sharia insurance, but external factors should also be considered for a more comprehensive understanding.
