Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of storytelling animation on prosocial behavior in children aged 5-6 years at Taman Kanak-kanak Ikhlas Padang City. This research was motivated by the problem of prosocial behavior in children aged 5-6 years that had not developed optimally. Based on initial observations, 13 out of 20 children were unable to share voluntarily, 14 out of 20 children could not respond spontaneously when their friends were in difficulty, and 15 out of 20 children were not actively involved in group activities. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method (nonequivalent control group design). The sample consisted of Class B1 as the experimental group and Class B2 as the control group, each comprising 10 children. Data were collected using an observation instrument with 6 statement items covering aspects of sharing, helping, and cooperating, then analyzed through normality testing (Shapiro-Wilk), homogeneity testing (Levene), and hypothesis testing (Independent Samples Test) using SPSS version 27. The results showed that the mean score of the experimental group increased from 9.8 on the pre-test to 20.1 on the post-test with a gain score of 10.3, while the control group increased from 9.4 to 13.5 with a gain score of 4.1. The hypothesis test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It is concluded that storytelling animation has a significant effect on the prosocial behavior of children aged 5-6 years at Taman Kanak-kanak Ikhlas Padang City.

Abstract

Social development is an important aspect that needs to be developed from an early age because it plays a role in shaping children's abilities to interact, cooperate, communicate, and adapt to the social environment. Based on the results ofobservations at TK Negeri 02 Pancung Soal Pesisir Selatan, there are still childrenwho have difficulty in working together, choosing friends, are less able to share, and do not dare to interact actively. This study aims to determine the effect of the gobak sodor game on the social development of children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri 02 Pancung Soal Pesisir Selatan. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The researchsample consisted of 30 children consisting of 15 children in the experimental class and 15 children in the control class. Data collection was carried out through observations using a social development assessment sheet that includes nine indicators. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests using SPSS version 23. The results showed that theaverage social development score in the control class increased from 18.53 to 21.46 (a difference of 2.93), while in the experimental class it increased from 18.13 to31.33 (a difference of 13.20). The results of the hypothesis test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, the game of gobak sodor significantly influences the social development of children aged 5–6 years at TK Negeri 02 Pancung Soal Pesisir Selatan.

Abstract

Numeracy is a basic competency that needs to be developed in early childhood as part of cognitive development. Based on initial observations at the Cemerlang Early Childhood Education Center (PAUD) in Selasih Village, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province, the numeracy skills of Group B children aged 5–6 years old are still low. This study aims to improve children's numeracy skills through the application of number sticks in learning activities. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, implemented in two cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study subjects consisted of 10 children in Group B: 4 boys and 6 girls. Data were collected through observation, performance tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the use of number sticks gradually improved children's numeracy skills. The learning completion rate reached 30% at the initial stage, then increased to 60% in Cycle I and reached 90% in Cycle II. This improvement was evident in the children's ability to recognize number symbols, count objects, connect quantities with number symbols, and complete simple addition calculations. The research findings indicate that number sticks can be used as an effective learning alternative to develop early childhood numeracy skills. Furthermore, the results achieved exceeded the established success indicator of 75%.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve children's number recognition skills through educational game media using a smart board at Melati Kindergarten, Mungka District. The research was conducted because children's ability to recognize and write numbers was still low, partly due to the limited use of instructional media in the learning process. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), consisting of two cycles: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, documentation, tests, and assignments. The results showed a significant improvement at each stage of the research. In the pre-cycle stage, the average ability of children to recognize numbers was still relatively low at 22.2%. After the implementation of the action in Cycle I, the percentage increased to 72.2%, and in Cycle II, it showed a more significant improvement, reaching 89.95%. This improvement was supported by the use of educational game media through a smart board. The method proved effective in enhancing children's number recognition skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of play activities, visual media, and repetitive practice can improve children's understanding of numbers.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of early reading skills among children aged 5–6 years at TK Raudhatul Jannah Pasaman Barat, as indicated by difficulties in recognizing letters, distinguishing between similar letters, associating letter sounds with pictures, and reading simple words. The study aimed to examine the effect of using sticker picture media on children's early reading skills. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, involving Group B2 as the experimental class and Group B3 as the control class, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an early reading skills test and analyzed through tests of normality, homogeneity, the Independent Samples t-test, and Effect Size (Cohen's d) using SPSS version 29. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The Independent Samples t-test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, the Effect Size (Cohen's d) value of 2.20 indicated a very large effect. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of sticker picture media has a positive and significant effect on the early reading skills of children aged 5–6 years at TK Raudhatul Jannah Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rhythmic gymnastics on the gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years at Raudhatul Jannah Kindergarten, West Pasaman. This study is based on the results of observations that show that the gross motor development of children at Raudhatul Jannah Kindergarten, West Pasaman has not developed optimally. Most children still have difficulty in carrying out physical activities that involve body movement coordination. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method. The research population was all children at Raudhatul Jannah Kindergarten, West Pasaman. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique, namely group B2 was selected as the experimental class and group B3 was selected as the control class with each class consisting of 15 children. Research data were collected through testing, documentation, and observation techniques. Data analysis carried out normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests, then the data were processed with a difference test (t-test). Based on the results of the study, the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 26.8 while the average post-test score of the experimental class was 46.33. Meanwhile, the average pre-test score for the control class was 25.2, and the average post-test score for the control class was 41.47. A t-test was then conducted, with a value of 0.006 below the 0.05 criterion. Thus, there was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. The results of this study indicate that rhythmic gymnastics activities influence the gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years at Raudhatul Jannah Kindergarten, West Pasaman.
