Abstract

Cumulating evidence suggests that high levels of spirituality can foster integrity. However, integrity violations remain prevalent, even among populations with strong religious beliefs. This study collected data from 2,800 students across 17 academic institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia to examine the relationship between their levels of spirituality and their perceptions of academic cheating. Although both countries have predominantly Muslim populations, they differ in how religious practices are implemented. The results revealed a significant correlation between spirituality and perceptions of cheating in both countries. However, one aspect of spirituality in Indonesia diverged from the broader concept, underscoring the complex and nuanced relationship between spirituality and religion. While these concepts often overlap, they also exhibit distinct differences. Such differences in spirituality and religiosity may help explain the paradox of integrity issues, including the prevalence of cheating within religious communities.

Abstract

A bibliometric analysis was conducted to assess the interest and significance of research on the Health Belief Model. The bibliographical information provides insights into the Health Belief Model concerning parents of children receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. As of January 25, 2023, data for the study were obtained from the Scopus database. Our analysis identified 876 articles with the keywords: Health Belief Model, Parents, and COVID-19 Vaccine. Articles were exclusively selected in English, and the analysis was performed using the R Studio 4.2.2 application for Bibliometric Analysis. China hosts the top five most productive authors, with Peking University contributing the highest number of articles (66 in total). The Vaccines Journal emerges as the primary publisher, while the majority of collaborative research on COVID-19 involves authors from the United States. Frequently used keywords include Human, Female, Male, Adult, COVID-19, and Article. The increasing trend in Health Belief Model articles related to the COVID-19 vaccine from 2020 to 2023 underscores the widespread interest in and appeal of this subject for discussion. Given the study's limitation, including only publications released before January 25, 2023, it is plausible that some more recent publications were unintentionally overlooked.

Abstract

Quality of life is an important aspect for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Pharmacist counseling is a non-pharmacological effort that can be provided to improve quality of life and control blood glucose levels. This study aimed to determine the effect of pharmacist-led therapeutic counseling for T2DM patients on improving their quality of life and reducing blood glucose levels. The study used a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design, with pretest and posttest assessments conducted before and after the intervention at RSUD Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. A total of 194 T2DM patients participated in the study, with 97 patients in both the intervention and control groups. Quality of life was measured using the EQ-5D-5L and EQ-VAS questionnaires, along with fasting blood glucose levels. Measurements were taken three times: before the intervention, and one month and two months after the intervention. Paired data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, while unpaired data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test at a significance level of 0.05. Counseling significantly improved EQ-5D-5L scores (Δ=0.06; p<0.001) and EQ-VAS scores (Δ=6.40; p<0.001), as well as reduced fasting blood glucose levels (Δ=-12.10 mg/dL; p<0.001) in the intervention group after the intervention. The impact of counseling was particularly significant in the pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression domains. However, no significant correlation was found between quality of life and fasting blood glucose levels in this study (p>0.05). Pharmacist counseling conducted at RSUD Pasar Minggu had a positive and significant impact on improving the quality of life and treatment outcomes related to blood glucose reduction.

Abstract

Ketiga variabel tersebut diukur menggunakan Marriage and Relationship Questionnaire (MRQ), World Health Organization Quality of Life–BREF (WHOQOL-BREF), dan Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS).

HIV/AIDS has become a global issue in many countries. The implementation of ARV / HAARTprograms is always changing, due to clinical reasons, population factors, and aff ordability. Pharmacoeconomic studies can be one of the considerations in the policy process for procurement and selection of therapy regimens. The aims of this study were to determine the eff ectiveness of treatment based on CD4 increase and cost eff ectiveness analysis of HAART A and HAART B treatment regimens. This study used a cross sectional observation method. Retrospective data collection and non-experimental observation where conducted followes by a quantitative descriptive analysis according to the patient's perspective to obtain costeffectiveness data. Data were statistically analyzed to obtain the cost-eff ectiveness of treatment. The results showed that the cost-eff ectiveness analysis (CEA) of two regimens found that HAART A was more dominant than HAART B with a signifi cant diff erence p<0.05. While ACER regimen HAART A (16,227) was greater than the value ACER therapy B (28,330.7).
