Abstract

Vocational High School is one of the vocational education that organizes education to prepare the next generation who are skilled in the industrial field. Activities at Vocational High Schools are more practical activities in workshops or laboratories. It is very important to introduce occupational safety and health to students so that they are able to recognize potential hazards in the workshop or laboratory. Based on an initial survey at the State Vocational High School 2 Surakarta, it has a machine laboratory which has lathe, milling, grinding, welding machine, and technical drawing facilities. The results of the initial survey focused on potential ergonomic hazards, because the results of observations on students who use equipment or machines in the laboratory do excessive muscle loading such as bending, twisting, neck flexion>200 and static foot positions so that potential musculoskeletal disorders can occur. So the purpose of the community service activity is to measure work posture to see the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and perform ergonomic exercises as a means of stretching muscles that experience loading. This community service activity runs with 2 methods, namely the Measurement Method and the exercise Method. The measurement method is anthropometric measurements used to determine the suitability of body posture with the dimensions of work equipment, so that these measurements can be used as a reference for the acceptance of SMKN 2 Surakarta students, especially in the aspect of height requirements. REBA measurement is a measurement of work posture that focuses on the upper body and lower body, such as the neck, shoulders, upper arms, and legs, so that we can see a picture of ergonomic risk factors in students majoring in machinery at SMKN 2 Surakarta. Nordic Body Map measurements are used to determine the level of musculoskeletal disorders. Activities in the laboratory of SMKN 2 Surakarta that have the risk of unnatural work postures have an impact on the occurrence of MSDs complaints. Exercise method, where the potential ergonomic risks are medium and high categories, it is necessary to take action to help reduce these potential hazards, one of which is by doing ergonomic gymnastics. This exercise model is made based on observations and measurements of potential ergonomic hazards, especially looking at body parts that experience unnatural work postures and static loading, so that this exercise model can be used as a way to reduce the risk of MSDs. Ergonomic gymnastics activities can be an alternative to reduce complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. The conclusion of community service activities is that activities in the lathe and technical drawing laboratories have high ergonomic risks and milling and grinding machines have moderate ergonomic risks so that ergonomic exercises can be applied before doing activities using machines or learning pauses for 5-10 minutes.

Abstract

Chronic exposure to cotton dust in the textile manufacturing industry has been a possible risk factor for pulmonary obstruction. Not many studies, however, have investigated its impact in combination with personal variables like age, gender, and length of service, particularly in developing countries. The present study investigated the impact of cotton dust exposure, age, gender, and length of service on the incidence of pulmonary obstruction among textile workers in Surakarta, Indonesia. Observational analytic study using cross-sectional design was done on 88 eligible workers. Quantitation of exposure to cotton dust was done with a High-Volume Air Sampler and lung function ascertained using spirometry. Data analysis was done through simple and multiple binary logistic regression at a significance level of 0.05. The incidence of pulmonary obstruction was 56.8%. Being exposed to cotton dust levels exceeding the threshold limit value (TLV) of 0.2 mg/m³ significantly increased the risk of pulmonary obstruction (OR: 4.18; 95% CI: 1.51–11.63; p=0.006). Employment duration was also significantly associated with pulmonary obstruction (OR: 1.21 per year; 95% CI: 1.03–1.44; p=0.023), while age and gender were not significant predictors. The accuracy of the final model was 75%, which is considered to be acceptable in occupational health studies in predictive modeling. The current research reaffirms that long-term exposure to cotton dust and extended working hours are critical risk factors for pulmonary obstruction in textile industry workers. Therefore, it is recommended to long-working-hour employees to have proper control of the exposure and continuous lung function monitoring.

Abstract

The development of technology, especially in the field of information technology, requires individuals to interact with computers. Computers are an important part of several work sectors, especially in the office sector for activities such as entering data, processing data, correspondence activities. The activities of computer user workers require accuracy so that the work requires a long time and detailed vision, so without realizing it can trigger eye disease, namely eye fatigue. Complaints of eye fatigue have symptoms in the form of a throbbing sensation around and behind the eyeball area, double vision, blurred vision, difficulty focusing vision, sore eyes, redness, and watery eyes, headaches accompanied by nausea and dizziness. This study aims to determine the effect of eye exercises on eye fatigue in computer user workers at PT X. This study uses the type of research quasi experiment with non equivalent control group design. Respondents were taken from PT X computer user workers totaling 60 people from a total of 150 employees. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. This study used an eye fatigue questionnaire as a research measurement tool by providing eye exercise interventions to the experimental group.The data analysis technique used was the Mann-Whitney Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in eye fatigue between the experimental group and the control group (p=0.001; p<0.05).

Abstract

Pekerja di industri tekstil khususnya di bagian produksi, sering menghadapi tekanan kerja yang tinggi, tuntutan produksi yang ketat, dan jam kerja yang panjang, yang berisiko menimbulkan burnout. Kondisi ini dapat berdampak pada peningkatan perilaku tidak aman di lingkungan kerja, sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan risiko kecelakaan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara burnout dengan perilaku tidak aman pada pekerja bagian produksi di PT. X Surakarta. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional kuantitatif dengan metode cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh pekerja PT. X Surakarta sebanyak 1.000 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 96 pekerja yang diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) untuk mengukur burnout serta kuesioner perilaku tidak aman, keduanya menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil analisis bivariat dengan Fisher’s Exact Test menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara burnout dan perilaku tidak aman (p = 0,026; p<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pekerja yang mengalami burnout cenderung  melakukan perilaku tidak aman, yang diindikasikan oleh gangguan fungsi kognitif dan emosional seperti kelelahan, depersonalisasi, dan penurunan prestasi diri pekerja, dimana burnout berdampak terhadap penurunan konsentrasi dan kepatuhan terhadap prosedur keselamatan. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan psikologis penting untuk meminimalkan risiko perilaku tidak aman di lingkungan kerja industri tekstil.

Abstract

Pekerja area Sub Assy PT Gemala Kempa Daya terdapat 3 pekerja mengalami kelelahan mata berat, 4 pekerja mengalami kelelahan mata sedang, dan 3 pekerja mengalami kelelahan mata ringan. Kelelahan mata dapat dikurangi dengan menggunakan video senam mata. Penelitian terdahulu melakukan intervensi senam mata secara langsung kepada objek penelitiannya, sedangkan pada penelitian ini melalui alat bantu berupa video. Kebaruan dalam penelitian karena menganalisis pengaruh video senam mata terhadap kelelahan mata. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh video senam mata terhadap kelelahan mata pekerja area Sub Assy PT Gemala Kempa Daya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimental dengan rancangan pretest post-test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian sebanyak 46 pekerja area sub assy dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling sehingga didapatkan sampel sebanyak 46 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur kelelahan mata pada responden. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji marginal homogeneity dan uji kolmogorov smirnov. Hasil uji marginal homogeneity pada kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara video senam mata dengan kelelahan mata (p=0,009), sedangkan uji marginal homogeneity pada kelompok kontrol tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara video senam mata dengan kelelahan mata (p=0,841). Hasil uji kolmogorov smirnov pada hasil post-test kedua kelompok menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol. (p=0,006). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa video senam mata memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kelelahan mata pekerja area sub assy PT Gemala Kempa Daya.

Abstract

Kecelakaan kerja sangat umum terjadi di lokasi konstruksi. Akibat dari kecelakaan kerja tidaklah kecil. Selain kerugian yang dialami korban berupa cedera atau kematian, perusahaan juga mengalami kerugian finansial berupa ganti rugi. Perilaku kerja aman pekerja merupakan salah satu faktor yang turut berperan dalam mengurangi kecelakaan kerja yang terjadi pada industri konstruksi. Kebaruan penelitian ini adalah pengaruh umur, masa kerja dan pengawasan K3 dengan perilaku kerja aman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perilaku kerja aman pekerja konstruksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Jumlah sampel 111 responden dengan metode simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa lembar kuesioner skala likert, kuesioner variabel pengawasan dan perilaku kerja aman diuji validitas realibilitas dengan hasil cronbach alfa sebesar 0,726, dan 0,963. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier berganda melalui aplikasi SPSS 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kerja aman sangat dipengaruhi oleh variabel masa kerja, ditunjukkan dengan nilai sig sebesar 0.001. Nilai koefisien determinasi yang dihasilkan sebesar 0.358 artinya nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0.358 x 100% = 35.80%. Pengaruh umur, masa kerja dan pengawasan K3 terhadap perilaku kerja aman sebesar 35.80%, sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. variabel. Model regresi Y = 26.252 + 0.110*Umur + 0.768*Masa Kerja + 0,223*Pengawasan K3. Kesimpulan mengenai pengaruh umur, masa kerja dan pengawasan K3 terhadap perilaku keselamatan pekerja konstruksi adalah sebesar 35.80%.

Abstract

Batik, warisan budaya Indonesia yang diakui UNESCO, saat ini menghadapi tantangan pelestarian di era globalisasi. Memudarnya minat generasi muda terhadap batik, termasuk anak sekolah dasar, mengancam keberlanjutannya sebagai simbol identitas nasional. Upaya menumbuhkan kecintaan dan penghargaan terhadap batik di kalangan generasi muda sangat penting untuk memastikan kelestarian warisan budaya batik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kecintaan dan pemahaman siswa terhadap batik sebagai warisan budaya bangsa, meningkatkan keterampilan dan kreativitas siswa dalam membatik, mendukung pengembangan desa wisata batik di Desa Kliwonan 1 Masaran Sragen, dan melestarikan budaya batik sebagai bagian dari identitas bangsa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui tahapan, pertama identifikasi dan analisis permasalahan melalui survei. Kedua, penentuan solusi berdasarkan hasil identifikasi dan analisis. Ketiga, pelaksanaan teknis pelatihan meliputi pre-test, penyampaian materi, praktik membatik, dan post-test. Keempat, menganalisis hasil dan mengevaluasi kegiatan. Kelima, merencanakan tindak lanjut. Pelatihan membatik bagi siswa menunjukkan hasil positif dan signifikan. Pengetahuan meningkat 80,0% (12 dari 15 siswa). Sikap meningkat 86,7% (13 dari 15 siswa), dan praktik meningkat 60,0% (9 dari 15 siswa). Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Paired T-Test dan Cohen's menunjukkan perbedaan rerata nilai pre-test dan post-test pada ketiga aspek (pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik) secara signifikan. Efek pelatihan terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap tergolong besar, sedangkan pada praktik tergolong sedang. Analisis statistik Repeated Measure ANCOVA menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik, dan tidak dipengaruji kelas dan jenis kelamin. Kesimpulan, pelatihan membatik efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik serta menunjukkan keadilan dan kesetaraan, sehingga siswa memiliki kesempatan sama dalam pengembangan membatik.

Abstract

Physical fatigue among textile workers is caused by non-ergonomic working postures (e.g., prolonged standing) and personal characteristics such as age, length of service, and body mass index (BMI). The objective of the present investigation was to study the effect of working posture on physical fatigue after adjusting for the covariates of age, length of service, and BMI. An analytical cross-sectional study with a quantitative design was applied to 174 Surakarta workers selected by stratified random sampling. Work posture was categorized under standing and sitting, while physical fatigue was measured by the Subjective Self Rating Test (SSRT) questionnaire. ANCOVA via SPSS version 27 software was applied for the analysis, in which age, length of service, and BMI were employed as covariates. The findings indicated that the standing posture was strongly influenced positively on physical fatigue (Partial Eta Squared = 0.547, p < 0.001), and the effect size is large. Significant risk factors were also found to be age (p = 0.012) and BMI (p = 0.035), but the length of service was not significant (p = 0.084). The ANCOVA model also showed excellent predictability values of adjusted R 2 = 0.715, which implied that the model was able to explain 71.5 percent of the physical fatigue. These findings emphasize the importance of posture-based ergonomic interventions to prevent fatigue and improve occupational health in the textile industry

Abstract

Pekerja tambang berisiko tinggi mengalami gangguan metabolik dan kardiovaskular akibat lingkungan kerja ekstrem dan beban kerja berat. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis asosiasi usia, lingkar pinggang, dan frekuensi nadi dengan kadar kolesterol total pada pekerja tambang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional, berdasarkan data sekunder hasil rekapitulasi Medical Check Up (MCU) pekerja laki-laki PT. Hasta Panca Mandiri Utama periode Juni–Desember 2023 yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hubungan antara usia, lingkar pinggang, dan frekuensi denyut nadi istirahat dengan kadar kolesterol total dianalisis menggunakan regresi logistik biner berganda pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Dari total 463 rekaman hasil MCU, sebanyak 430 data memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi serta digunakan dalam analisis akhir. Hasil regresi logistik biner berganda menunjukkan bahwa usia ≥40 tahun (nilai p = 0,022) dan lingkar pinggang ≥90 cm (nilai p = 0,044) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hiperkolesterolemia, sedangkan denyut nadi istirahat tidak berpengaruh (nilai p = 0,309). Lingkar pinggang dan usia terbukti sebagai prediktor independen hiperkolesterolemia pada pekerja tambang.

Abstract

Background : The informal metal industry poses a high risk of hazards but often escapes oversight of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards. The lack of systematic risk management in these environments exposes workers to a variety of hazards, ranging from ergonomic, mechanical, physical, and chemical, all of which can potentially lead to accidents and occupational illnesses. Objective: The purpose of the research is to identify potential hazards, assess the level of risk in each production area, and formulate effective control alternatives to minimize work incidents. Methods: The research method used was descriptive quantitative with the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) approach. This approach was used to analyze all activities in nine production areas through the stages of hazard identification, likelihood and severity assessment, and risk level determination. Data was collected through direct observation and worker interviews, and validated using secondary data from Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and previous incident reports. Results: The research results showed that there were 11 findings of high hazard risks, 11 moderate hazard risks and 7 low hazard risks in all production areas. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the application of the HIRA method is essential for risk management in the informal metal industry. It is recommended to implement hierarchical controls, ranging from engineering controls such as the installation of machine guards and ventilation systems, to administrative controls such as the development of stricter SOPs and regular OHS training.
