Abstract

This study aims to explore the relevance and pedagogical implications of Suryawinata and Hariyanto’s translation theory in Indonesian senior high school contexts. Translation is recognized not only as a linguistic skill but also as a tool to develop students’ cultural understanding and critical thinking in English language education. Employing a qualitative descriptive design in the form of a literature review, the study analyzed 46 sources, including books, journal articles, and conference proceedings, published between 2009 and 2025 in both Indonesian and English. These sources were selected based on their relevance to translation pedagogy, strategies, and classroom practices. The findings indicate that the structured stages of the Suryawinata and Hariyanto model (analysis, transfer, restructuring, and evaluation) align well with the needs of Indonesian high school students and can support curriculum goals by promoting linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Despite challenges such as limited class time, varying student proficiency levels, and lack of specialized teaching materials, the model offers opportunities for integration into project-based learning, formative assessment, and cross-curricular instruction. The novelty of this study lies in its systematic synthesis of translation theory and its practical connection to secondary education, an area that has been underexplored in previous research. This review provides a foundation for future instructional innovation and material development, particularly for teachers, curriculum designers, and educational researchers seeking to enhance English language learning through translation.

Abstract

The condition of the people in Pulau Telo village often dispose of household waste in the river which causes waste which is increasing every day and year, the need for awareness from the community not to litter because it will reduce the beauty of the village and discomfort in the community environment. Community efforts must be able to manage waste by recycling waste to produce waste that has value. the cooperation needed in dealing with waste by means of the village head holding socialization on waste recycling so that people can use plastic waste to become waste that has a price. This type of research is qualitative-descriptive which aims to describe the condition of the environmental cleanliness of the Kapuas River in Telo Island Village and the surrounding environment and the awareness of the surrounding community about river cleanliness.The result of community service activities is that by utilizing plastic as an attraction for the community to be able to manage waste as creative materials such as ecobricks.

Abstract

Representasi adalah suatu wujud kata, gambar, cerita dan lainnya yang mewakili ide, emosi hingga fakta. Representasi bisa berbentuk tindakan berbicara atau bertindak atas nama seseorang atau keadaan yang diwakili. Representasi juga bisa berarti deskripsi penggambaran seseorang atau sesuatu dengan cara tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merepresentasikan masyarakat Bali dalam novel Tarian Bumi karya Oka Rusmini. Dalam penelitian ini yang akan dibahas yaitu kasta dan adat istiadat yang dijunjung dan dilanggar yang terdapat dalam novel Tarian Bumi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik baca dan catat dengan sumber data berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer dalam penelitian ini yaitu kata, paragraf, maupun kalimat yang terdapat dalam novel Tarian Bumi. Sementara, data sekunder bersumber dari buku, jurnal, dan karya ilmiah yang relevan dengan penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa; (1) ada empat kasta yang terdapat dalam agama Hindu, yakni brahmana, ksatriya, waisya dan sudra; (2) adanya pelanggaran adat istiadat dalam memilih pasangan hidup. Hal ini dikarenakan perempuan Bali memiliki perbedaan hak dengan pria Bali.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan media sosial WhatsApp dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi literatur, dengan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis informasi dari berbagai sumber tertulis seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, artikel berita, laporan penelitian, dan dokumen resmi. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi teknik membaca, mencatat informasi penting, dan merangkum poin-poin utama dari sumber literatur. Hasil studi literatur menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan WhatsApp dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan, memfasilitasi pemahaman peserta didik meskipun melalui media daring. Selain itu, penelitian lain juga merekomendasikan WhatsApp sebagai alat yang efektif dalam pembelajaran, membuktikan manfaatnya dalam mendukung berbagai aspek pendidikan, termasuk pembelajaran bahasa.

Abstract

Abstrak Rumus daya dukung pondasi tiang dari Meyerhof (1976) banyak digunakan di Indonesia. Sangat penting untuk mengkuantifikasi variabilitas dalam perancangan. Ini juga berarti sangat penting untuk mengkuantifikasi variabilitas daya dukung aksial tiang terhadap nilai N-SPT dalam rumus yang banyang digunakan seperti rumus Meyerhof (1976). Analisis untuk mengkuantifikasi variabilitas yang terkandung dalam rumus daya dukung aksial Meyerhof (1976) dilakukan dalam makalah ini. Dalam analisis, digunakan data dalam publikasi Meyerhof (1976). Hubungan antara probabilitas kegagalan dan faktor keamanan untuk rumus daya dukung formula dikuantifikasi. Dari studi ini didapatkan bahwa faktor keamanan untuk rumus daya dukung aksial ujung tiang adalah sebesar 1,54, 2,17, dan 1,35 untuk pondasi tiang pancang pada tanah pasir, pondasi tiang pancang pada lanau, dan pondasi tiang bor. Juga didapatkan bahwa faktor keamanan untuk rumus daya dukung aksial selimut tiang adalah sebesar 1,54 untuk tiang pancang di tanah pasir dan lanau, dan 1,14 untuk tiang bor. Kata-kata Kunci: Daya dukung aksial tiang, Rumus Meyerhof (1976), Probabilitas kegagalan, Faktor keamanan, Variabilitas daya dukung aksial tiang. Abstract Meyerhof (1976) formula for calculation of pile axial bearing capacity is quite familiar in Indonesia. It is essential to quantify the variability of soil in a design. This also means, it is essential to quantify the variability of axial pile bearing capacity versus N-SPT inherited in a commonly used formula like Meyerhof (1976) formula. An analysis to quantify the variability inherited in Meyerhof (1976) formula for calculation of pile axial bearing capacity was performed. The data in the publication of Meyerhof (1976) are used in the analysis. The relation between the probability of failure for pile and the factor of safety in terms of the axial bearing capacity formula was quantified. It was found that the factors of safety for formula of unit pile tip bearing capacity are 1.54, 2.17, and 1.35 for driven pile in sand, driven pile in silt, and bored pile in sand, respectively. Also, it was found that the factors of safety for formula of unit pile shaft bearing capacity are 1.54 and 1.14 for driven pile in sand and silt and bored pile in sand, respectively. Abstract

Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) merupakan anak yang memiliki suatu keistimewaan atau karekteristik yang berbeda dibandingkan dengan anak normal pada umumnya. Pada hal pendidikan Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus juga memerlukan lingkungan yang tepat sesuai dengan kondisi yang dimilikinya, sehingga perlu dilakukan pendampingan belajar bagi ABK. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu mengatasi masalah yang dialami pihak sekolah dan juga untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif bagi anak. Pengabdian dilakukan di MI Sabilal Muttaqin, Desa Mantuyan, Kec. Halong, Kab. Balangan selama 1 bulan yang dimulai dari tanggal 15 Oktober - 15 November 2022. Metode yang digunakan dalam proses pengabdian ini adalah melalui metode Participatory Action Research (PAR). Secara umum, dalam melakukan Participatory Action Research (PAR), terdapat beberapa urutan tindakan, mulai dari tahap observasi, refleksi, rencana tindakan hingga implementasi program. Upaya pendampingan yang akan dilakukan pertama, membantu mengajar anak ABK untuk mengenal huruf, angka, warna, dan binatang. Kedua, membantu mengajar anak ABK untuk berhitung dan berdoa sebelum serta sesudah pelajaran. Ketiga, membantu untuk mengolah perilaku anak ABK ke arah yang lebih baik. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu anak ABK sudah mulai membiasakan diri untuk berdoa sebelum dan sesudah belajar, mampu mengembalikan barang milik temannya, bisa duduk dengan tenang saat belajar dan bisa mengikuti tulisan yang ada di papan tulis.

Abstract

IAIN Ternate is one of the leading State Islamic Universities in the city of Ternate, while the PGMI Undergraduate study program at IAIN Ternate was held in 2014. The presence of the PGMI Undergraduate Study Program promises great hopes for stakeholders and the archipelagic Islamic community in Ternate City. In the effort to develop the PGMI Undergraduate study program, seeing the challenges of the world of work or the level of existing needs, graduates of the PGMI Undergraduate Program are really needed. Therefore, in order to be able to analyze the level of need, it is necessary to obtain accurate information from all parties about the prospects for developing the PGMI undergraduate study program, especially in the island Islamic community in the city of Ternate. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that: The results of the development process of the PGMI Undergraduate study program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Ternate, include: The Undergraduate PGMI Study Program FTIK IAIN Ternate has used the KKNI curriculum which focuses on the needs of stakeholders in the Islamic archipelago community, program development The PGMI Undergraduate study was carried out by establishing a partnership relationship with both public and private madrasah Ibtidaiyah in the city of Ternate, this partnership relationship is in the form of education and teaching, research and service to partner MI, this has been established since the 2016/2017 academic year until now, the results of program development PGMI Undergraduate studies namely the existence of assisted madrasahs, which are located in island areas in the city of Ternate, the results of the development of the PGMI Undergraduate study program can be seen from the increase in the number of students from year to year, and the results of the development of the PGMI Undergraduate study program can be seen from the holding of guest lectures (visiting professor) from Germany in the form of international training and seminar activities.

Abstract

Although numerous studies have examined mathematics anxiety among preservice teachers, research focusing on its association with stress coping strategies remains limited. This study collected data on mathematics anxiety and stress coping from 211 preservice mathematics teachers to investigate whether differences in mathematics anxiety exist based on the coping strategies they employed. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was applied. The instruments included the Revised Mathematics Anxiety Survey (R-MANX) to assess mathematics anxiety and a stress coping questionnaire based on Lazarus and Folkman’s theory, categorized into Problem-Focused Coping (PFC) and Emotion-Focused Coping (EFC). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation, and the Kruskal–Wallis H test. The findings revealed that most preservice mathematics teachers experienced moderate levels of mathematics anxiety. The majority of respondents predominantly relied on Emotion-Focused Coping (EFC) to manage stress, and this tendency was consistent across all levels of anxiety—low, moderate, and high. Although descriptive results indicated differences in coping preferences, statistical analysis showed no significant differences in mathematics anxiety across coping strategy types. Therefore, it can be concluded that coping strategies did not emerge as significant differentiating factors for mathematics anxiety among preservice mathematics teachers in this study
