Abstract

Background: Air quality is a fundamental determinant of human health, particularly affecting respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Rapid industrialization, urbanization, and increased transportation have significantly elevated air pollution levels worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO, 2020) reports that approximately 99% of the global population is exposed to air quality below recommended safety standards. Similarly, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (2023) indicates that major cities in Indonesia continue to experience unhealthy air quality indices. Exposure to pollutants such as fine particulate matter (PM ₂.₅ and PM₁₀), oxidative gases, and airborne microorganisms is associated with chronic respiratory diseases, asthma, and cardiovascular disorders. Consequently, effective mitigation strategies are required to minimize the adverse health impacts of air pollution. Objectives: This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to evaluate the effectiveness of modern air filtration technologies in reducing health risks associated with air pollution. Methods: The study follows PRISMA guidelines, analyzing more than 20 national and international journal articles published between 2019 and 2025. Data were collected from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed using keywords including air filtration technology, HEPA filter, nanofiber filter, and IoT-based air purifier. Results: Findings indicate that HEPA filters, UV-C sterilization, PVDF and PU nanofibers, and IoT-based systems achieve filtration efficiencies up to 99.9%. Combined HEPA and UV-C effectively inactivate SARS-CoV-2, while nanofiber filters enhanced with MoS₂ and CuO nanoparticles exhibit additional antimicrobial properties. Conclusion: Air filtration technologies offer an effective and sustainable solution for improving air quality and reducing public health risks. Keywords: Air pollution; Air filtration technology; HEPA filter; UV-C; Nanofiber; IoT-based air purifier; Public health.

Abstract

Abstract

Language functions not only as a means of communication, but also as an instrument of action that represents the speaker’s intentions, feelings, and inner experiences. In the realm of art, particularly music, language is expressed through song lyrics that carry meaning as well as specific communicative acts. This study aims to analyze the meanings of locutionary and illocutionary acts in the song “Lughāt al-ʻĀlam” by Humood Alkhuder by applying a pragmatic approach based on speech act theory proposed by J.L. Austin and further developed by John Searle. This research employs a descriptive qualitative design using a library research method and document analysis technique. The primary data consist of the song lyrics, while secondary data are drawn from books, articles, and academic journals related to pragmatics. The findings indicate that the lyrics contain illocutionary acts that function to praise, express affection, and convey respect. Therefore, the language used in the song does not merely communicate lexical meaning, but also reflects complex communicative actions that generate emotional impact.

Abstract

The Poor Statement Letter (SPM), or Certificate of Poverty, is an essential instrument for underprivileged communities in Banyuwangi Regency to access healthcare services. The increasing number of SPM claims at RSUD Genteng from 2021 to 2023 highlights challenges in budget management and claim administration. This study employs a descriptive quantitative design with a trend analysis approach to examine the patterns of increasing SPM claims at RSUD Genteng. Data were collected from monthly claim recapitulations at RSUD Genteng and interviews with finance department staff, then analyzed using descriptive statistics to visualize claim trends through line charts. The findings indicate that total SPM claims increased from IDR 5.48 billion in 2021 to IDR 10.6 billion in 2023, with the highest claim value recorded in September 2022 (IDR 647,152,400) and the lowest in February 2021 (IDR 153,169,200). Some claims from 2022 were settled only in 2023 due to the lengthy claim process at the central government level and turnover among claim officers. This study concludes that the increase in SPM claims reflects a high demand for healthcare services, while fluctuating patterns and delays in claim payments highlight the need for efficient and transparent claim management to maintain the financial stability of RSUD Genteng and ensure the sustainability of healthcare services for underprivileged communities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing use of online games among adolescents, which has the potential to affect interpersonal communication skills, particularly self-disclosure. This study aims to identify the level of self-disclosure in students addicted to online games at SMA Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi based on the dimensions of amount, valence, honesty and accuracy, intention, and intimacy. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The research sample consisted of 60 students determined through a total sampling technique with the criteria of playing online games for more than 5 hours per day. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability and was compiled based on Devito's self disclosure theory and analyzed using a percentage technique. The results showed that the overall level of student self-disclosure was in the high category (61%). Partially, the amount dimension was in the moderate category (59%), while valence (60%), honesty and accuracy (63%), intention (64%), and intimacy (61%) were in the high category. The intention dimension was the highest, while amount was the lowest. These findings indicate that students addicted to online games have a tendency to be quite open, but not optimal in the frequency and duration of self-disclosure. Therefore, guidance and counseling services are needed to increase self disclosure and control online game use to support students' social development.
