Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems found in students' cognitive learning outcomes in the subject of Social Sciences in class Ⅳ MI Cibanteng, West Bandung Regency, which shows that there are still students who have not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), because there is no effective learning model in the subject of Social Sciences. This study aims to determine: (1) students' cognitive learning outcomes before the implementation of the ICARE learning model, (2) the process of implementing the ICARE learning model in each cycle, and (3) students' cognitive learning outcomes at the end of the cycle after the implementation of the ICARE learning model. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with data collection techniques including observation, testing, and documentation. While data analysis is carried out by calculating the average value, individual learning completion, and classical learning completion, as well as analyzing the results of observations of teacher and student activities. The study's results show an increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes in the subject of Social Sciences when using the ICARE model in each cycle. The research revealed that students' cognitive learning outcomes in the pre-cycle before implementing the ICARE learning model in Social Studies achieved an average score of 62.3, with a classical mastery score of 56%. After implementing the ICARE learning model, the average score increased to 66.1, with a classical mastery score of 64% in Cycle 2. Finally, it reached an average score of 74.7 and a classical mastery score of 78% in Cycle 2. Therefore, it can be concluded that the ICARE learning model can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in Social Studies in grade Ⅳ at MI Cibanteng, West Bandung Regency.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of creative thinking skills among fifth-grade students at MI Ar-Rifa in the subject of Natural Sciences. Initial assessment results revealed that out of 24 students, 14 (59%) had not reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) of 70, with an average class score of 59.6 and a classical completeness rate of only 41%. The limited development of students’ creative thinking was attributed to the use of conventional teaching models that lacked interactivity and failed to involve students actively in the learning process. This study aimed to explore: (1) the creative thinking abilities of students before the implementation of the Team Quiz cooperative learning model, (2) how the model was applied during the learning process, and (3) the improvement in students’ creative thinking skills after each intervention cycle. Conducted in a fifth-grade classroom at MI Ar-Rifa, the study employed a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The research was designed as classroom action research implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through written tests, observation, and documentation. The results indicated a consistent improvement in students’ creative thinking skills. The average score increased from 59.6 in the pre-cycle to 68.5 in the first cycle, and to 75.0 in the second cycle. Likewise, the classical completeness rate rose from 41% to 62% and finally reached 83%. These outcomes demonstrate that the Team Quiz cooperative learning model is effective in enhancing creative thinking skills among students in science learning

Abstract

This study is to evaluate the use of the Kuratul Kalam technique in enhancing the speaking abilities of fourth-grade pupils at MIN 2 Bandung. This study, driven by the inadequate speaking proficiency of students in Arabic language classes, employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, utilising data collection approaches such as observation, performance assessments, and documentation. The employed data analysis methods were qualitative and quantitative methodologies. This study's results demonstrate that the implementation of the Kuratul Kalam approach can markedly enhance pupils' speaking abilities. During the pre-cycle, the mean score was 55.89, accompanied by a classical mastery percentage of 14%. In Cycle I, the mean score was 66.79, accompanied by a classical mastery percentage of 46%. In Cycle II, the mean score increased to 75.36, with a classical mastery percentage of 82%. This project aims to enhance students' speaking proficiency, particularly in Arabic language courses

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the current covid-19 pandemic on distance learning in education. One of the most basic levels of formal education in Indonesia is the Islamic elementary school, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Policy updates due to the pandemic affect teaching and learning activities at this time. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The learning used at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Bandung City in this study uses online learning that utilizes the power of the internet without being limited by distance, space and time so that learning during a pandemic continues. However, the existence of these influences both positively and negatively on social life and student achievement at this time. This is the importance of the role of parents and the method taught by the teacher even though the learning objectives are far from being fulfilled.

Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Pop-up book learning media in improving students’ reading comprehension skills in Indonesian language subjects. Method: This research employs a quantitative method with a one group pretest posttest design. The procedure involves administering a pretest, applying the Pop-up book learning media, and conducting a posttest. The population consists of students at MI Bahrul Ihsan, Indonesia with a sample of 20 students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using test instruments in the form of reading comprehension questions. Data analysis includes the normality test, paired t-test, and N-Gain formula. Results:  The research concludes that the use of Pop-up book learning media is effective in improving the reading comprehension skills, and an N-Gain score of 0.67 in the medium category with 66.67% effectiveness, classified as quite effective. Theoretical Contribution: This study supports the concept of holistic development in Islamic education (tarbiyah) by emphasizing active student engagement, reflection (tafakkur), and deep understanding (tafaqquh). The media encourages intellectual growth (‘aql) aligning with the goals of ta’līm (instruction) and purification (tazkiyah). Implication: Improving reading skills in Indonesian Language can use pop-up book learning media. Future research should involve a larger and more diverse sample.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low levels of interest and numeracy skills among elementary school students, as revealed through initial evaluations and classroom observations. Numeracy learning is still dominated by lecture-based instruction and abstract exercises, which do not align with the developmental characteristics of young learners who require concrete, active, and enjoyable learning experiences. Moreover, the lack of integration of local cultural contexts in numeracy lessons results in students feeling less engaged and emotionally disconnected from the material. Based on these conditions, this research aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the traditional game Engklek as a learning medium to enhance the interest and numeracy skills of second-grade students at MI Miftahul Falah Bandung. This study employed a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 22 students who received numeracy instruction through the Engklek-based learning model. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire and a numeracy test administered before and after the intervention. A paired sample t-test was used to determine whether the difference in scores was statistically significant. The findings indicate a significant improvement in both learning interest and numeracy performance. The average pretest score of 74.54 increased to 95 after the intervention. The statistical analysis showed that the t-value exceeded the critical t-table value and the p-value was < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest results. In addition to academic gains, students demonstrated higher enthusiasm, confidence, and social interaction throughout the learning process.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model kooperatif tipe Simultaneous Roundtable terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan siswa kelas V MIS Muslimin. Dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya yaitu penerapan model pembelajaran yang kurang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VA sebagai kelas kontrol dan VB sebagai kelas eksperimen. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa tes (pretest dan posttest) dan observasi, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik berbantuan SPSS 30. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum diberikan perlakuan kedua kelas memperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest yang relatif rendah. Namun, setelah diberi perlakuan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen meningkat secara signifikan menjadi 76,36, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya mencapai 63,85. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hasil analisis uji hipotesis dengan t-test menghasilkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar < 0,001 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan keterampilan menulis karangan siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model kooperatif tipe Simultaneous Roundtable secara signifikan berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan siswa. Kata Kunci: Simultaneous Roundtable, Keterampilan Menulis Karangan, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the Simultaneous Roundtable cooperative model on the writing skills of fifth-grade students of MIS Muslimin. The background is the low writing skills caused by several factors, one of which is the implementation of less effective learning models. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consists of two classes, namely class VA as the control class and VB as the experimental class. The data collected were in the form of tests (pretest and posttest) and observations, which were analyzed using statistical tests assisted by SPSS 30. The results showed that before being given treatment, both classes obtained a relatively low average pretest score. However, after being given treatment, the average posttest score of the experimental class increased significantly to 76,36, while the control class only reached 63.85. This is reinforced by the results of the hypothesis test analysis with t-test producing a sig. value. (2-tailed) of <0.001 which is smaller than 0.05, which means there is a difference in the average increase in students' essay writing skills between the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the Simultaneous Roundtable type cooperative model has a significant effect on improving students' essay writing skills.
