Abstract

Penguasaan kemampuan menulis surat sebagai kompetensi krusial yang perlu dimiliki siswa. Namun, berdasarkan fenomena dan wawancara di SMA Negeri 2 Tambang kemampuan siswa masih berkategori kurang dan masih terdapat permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa dalam menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan. Maka dari itu, peneliti ingin membuktikan kemampuan menulis surat lamaran kerja dikalangan siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 2 Tambang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan dan mengetahui kemampuan menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 2 Tambang tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan objek penelitian kelas XII IPS 2 yang berjumlah 38 responden. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 2 Tambang menunjukkan kategori kurang pada kedua aspek menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan, yaitu aspek sistematika dan kaidah kebahasaan. Pada aspek sistematika, terdapat 7 orang siswa atau 19% berkategori cukup, sementara itu 31 orang siswa atau 82% mendapatkan nilai berkategori kurang. Selanjutnya, pada aspek kaidah kebahasaan, seluruh siswa (38 orang) atau 100 % mendapatkan nilai berkategori kurang. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan siswa SMA Negeri 2 Tambang berkategori kurang dengan rata-rata 70,3.

Abstract

The implementation of this community service started from the many complaints from teachers who had difficulty writing journal articles. This problem arises because they have not received training in writing and publishing scientific papers, so their motivation is low, and this has an impact on promotion. Apart from that, there is a lack of references and limited knowledge regarding writing articles. In fact, research activities and writing scientific articles are basic or mandatory for teachers in order to increase educational competence. Based on this, the aim of article writing training is to increase the productivity of writing scientific articles and publishing them, as well as increasing teacher professionalism and competence, increasing teacher self-confidence, and enabling teachers to actively develop their knowledge and skills. This training uses a classical and individual approach. The classical approach is carried out in two stages. First, the PKM team came to the school to conduct observations and needs analysis, then provided direct training to teachers at SMP Negeri 8 Tambang Kab. Kampar regarding writing journal articles. Second, training is carried out using lecture, tutorial, and practical methods. Meanwhile, an individual approach is taken in mentoring activities by guiding teachers in compiling and writing journal articles. The results of PKM activities related to journal article writing strategies increased understanding and motivation of teachers at SMP Negeri 8 Tambang Kab. Kampar in writing journal articles.

Abstract

Di era digital, pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris menjadi penting untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa. Program ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi mahasiswa PIAUD Diniyyah Putri dalam menerapkan Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) guna mendukung self-learning mereka. Kegiatan meliputi pelatihan, pendampingan, serta evaluasi penggunaan aplikasi MALL. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan teknologi ini meningkatkan motivasi belajar, memperluas akses terhadap sumber belajar interaktif, serta membantu mahasiswa membangun kebiasaan belajar mandiri. Namun, tantangan seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur dan motivasi masih menjadi kendala utama. Oleh karena itu, pendampingan yang lebih intensif serta peningkatan akses terhadap teknologi dan sumber belajar yang berkualitas diperlukan agar program ini berkelanjutan dan lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study was motivated by children's low interest in reading storybooks available at school. Although the books presented are interesting and good, they do not offer many bilingual storybooks to introduce local culture. This study aims to describe the readability level of bilingual children's storybooks by involving teachers and students to encourage their interest in reading. This study uses a descriptive-quantitative method. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The sample used consisted of 65 respondents, comprising 40 teachers and 25 students. The results of this study indicate that the readability level of bilingual children's storybooks from the teachers' perspective can be described in four aspects: the readability of bilingual storybooks in terms of material (80.34%); presentation (80.87%); graphics (77.79%); and language (72.87%). Overall, the readability level of storybooks from the perception of B-2 level students was in the Very Good category. This means that the readability level of storybooks is easy for students to understand. Based on the findings of this study, the readability level of bilingual storybooks is suitable for use by students to learn about the regional languages of various ethnic groups, thereby developing students' literacy skills through a love of reading storybooks.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia, especially in Riau, faces big challenges in realizing national character and identity amidst cultural diversity and local values. One effort to achieve this goal is through the implementation of the Pancasila student profile, which is a guideline in shaping student character and personality. The Pancasila student profile aims to create a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also has characters that are in line with Pancasila values. Based on this, the aim of this research is to identify and analyze the profile values ​​of Pancasila students in local wisdom-based narrative texts in Riau. This research is qualitative research using the content analysis method. The data sources for this research are Riau folk tales, namely the story of Putri Tujuh from Dumai City, the story of Batu Belah Batu Betangkup from Indragiri Hilir Regency, and the story of Si Lancang from Kampar Regency. Research data is in the form of phrases, sentences, or quotes that indicate the profile of Pancasila students. The research procedures include determining research objectives and focus, selecting data, reading and recognizing data (familiarization), developing categories or coding schemes, coding data, analyzing themes and patterns, interpreting results, and reporting findings. The results of this research show that there is an implementation of the Pancasila profile in local wisdom-based narrative texts in Riau, including faith and devotion to God Almighty, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, and creativity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis fungsi tindak tutur ekspresif dalam podcast Denny Sumargo “Gw Bukan Cerminan Anak Ustadz, Selalu Salah dan Dihujat Netizen”. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu metode analisis isi atau content analysis. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa podcast Denny Sumargo “Gw Bukan Cerminan Anak Ustadz, Selalu Salah dan Dihujat Netizen”. Adapun data penelitian ini seluruh tuturan ekspresif dalam podcast tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan peneliti adalah teknik simak, teknik catat, dan teknik dokumentasi. Berdasarkan analisis data tindak tutur ekspresif dalam podcast Denny Sumargo “Gw Bukan Cerminan Anak Ustadz, Selalu Salah dan Dihujat Netizen” terdapat 56 data yang terbagi menjadi 7 fungsi yaitu tindak tutur ekspresif berterima kasih, tindak tutur ekspresif selamat, tindak tutur ekspresif memaafkan, tindak tutur ekspresif mengampuni, tindak tutur ekspresif menyalahkan, tindak tutur ekspresif memuji, dan tindak tutur ekspresif belasungkawa. Adapun data dari seluruh tuturan Abidzar dan Denny Sumargo “Gw Bukan Cerminan Anak Ustadz, Selalu Salah dan Dihujat Netizen” menunjukkan mengapa fungsi tindak tutur ekspresif yang paling terbanyak digunakan yaitu tindak tutur ekspresif selamat, karena tuturan pernyataan selamat dari penutur dapat diperoleh dari mitra tutur dengan maksud mengekspresikan ucapan selamat kepada mitra tutur, sedangkan fungsi tindak tutur ekspresif yang paling sedikit digunakan yaitu tindak tutur ekspresif terima kasih, karena beberapa tuturan dengan alasan bahwa lawan tutur atau mitra tutur akan melakukan apa yang diminta oleh penutur atau dapat disebabkan oleh penutur yang telah memberikan sesuatu atau penutur yang menyukai mitra tutur.

Abstract

In spite of its emergence in 1980s, digital media has been well known to this day, yet it is still questioned whether its presence is merely a "disturbance" or a "diversion" after contradictory impacts of digital media usage have been found based on several conducted studies. Answering the question, library research was carried out by using some sources and references in getting and analyzing the data. Then, the writers integrated their ideas by synthesizing in drawing conclusion. Delving into the essence of four learning theories (behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, and connectivism) and their integration with technology, particular media use and their functions are recognized through a systematic procedure in certain digital learning approach as one alternative for teachers in selecting and utilizing digital media in learning process. It was found that, firstly, the comprehension basic learning philosophy serves as fundamental reasons for teachers in utilizing technology. Secondly, the learning theories play as the base for teachers to develop their teaching approaches by maximizing their digital competence through digital technology use for improving their digital literacy. Lastly, the ownership of knowledge and skill for instructional digital media use develops teachers’ digital competence by recognizing students’ need in learning. In a nutshell, the choice for digital media utilization has to be supported by understanding the intensive relation between teachers and their learners’ roles and the instructional strategies in integrating media and technology used which will awaken not only teachers’ digital literacy, but especially their digital competence as well, as displayed through their ability to be intricately connected to digital media use. Therefore, the comprehensive understanding of learning theories approach of teachers and their ways in utilizing media-based technology determines the function of the media itself whether it is distraction or diversion during teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Humans are very closely related to culture, so that humans are called cultural beings. Culture itself consists of ideas, symbols, and values as a result of human actions. At this time, a complete ceremony with all its procedures is still used and preserved and becomes something sacred besides the marriage contract. However, it is rare for people to know the meaning and significance of the symbols of the series of wedding ceremonies. In fact, it is not uncommon to make the series of ceremonies a source of pride without knowing more about their meanings and without explaining their benefits. This study aims to determine the implementation (stages) and meaning contained in the symbols of traditional wedding ceremonies in Kampar Kiri Hulu District, Batu Sasak Village, Kampar Regency. The author conducted the research by conducting observations, interviews with traditional figures (ninik mamak), and literature studies. This research is descriptive-analytical with qualitative methods. The results of this study are that the traditional wedding ceremony in Batu Sasak Village consists of stages or processions of ulok-ulok, antagh tando, manunggu buek, manjolang sumondo, and manjolang mintuo. At these stages there are several symbols; these symbols are usually represented in the form of objects. The symbols contained in the traditional wedding ceremony include ceno, sirih, pinang, gambir, soda, and tobacco.

Abstract

The development of science and technology demands good public speaking skills for everyone, including junior high school students. However, many students face obstacles such as nervousness, anxiety, and a lack of self-confidence when speaking in public. This community service activity aimed to provide public speaking training to improve students' speaking skills at SMPN 8 Tambang. The activity was held on December 14, 2024, involving 30 participants, through the delivery of material on basic concepts, vocal, visual, and verbal techniques, as well as public speaking practice sessions. The results showed that prior to the training, only 16.67% of students dared to speak in public. After the training, there was a significant increase in students' confidence and ability to speak effectively. Students were also able to apply good public speaking techniques, including vocal control, posture, and mastery of material. This training received enthusiastic responses and is recommended to be continued through extracurricular activities to sustainably enhance students' public speaking skills.
