Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the Prevention of Terrorism and Radicalism in Indonesia in Schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method by collecting relevant data and analyzing and studying it in detail and in depth, and conducting discussions to discuss the context related to the material in the journal. From this study, the results were found, namely (1) Radicalism in schools is caused by various structural and cultural factors, including past political pressure, repressive education, and minimal critical literacy. (2) Prevention efforts have been made by schools, the government, and the community, but are still sectoral and not optimally coordinated. (3) Social media has become a new channel for the spread of radical ideology, especially for students who are looking for their identity. As an implication of this research, it is understood that character education is not enough if it is not accompanied by strengthening digital literacy and active parental involvement. Then, in other aspects, teachers need continuous training to be able to recognize early symptoms of radicalism and respond in an educational and non-repressive manner. For that, policies are needed that are not only top-down, but also flexible to adjust to the socio-cultural characteristics of each region.

Abstract

Pulau Baai Port in Bengkulu City is a densely active area with a high risk of being affected by a tsunami disaster. This study aims to model the road network and analyze its performance during evacuation using the Four Step Model method. Surveys were conducted to assess existing conditions, build evacuation movement scenarios, and model the effect of road capacity improvements. The results show an R² value of 0.8502, indicating that the modeling is valid compared to real field conditions. The evacuation modeling produced the highest degree of saturation on several road segments, reaching 0.91, 0.75, and 0.70, indicating a high risk of congestion during evacuation. Increasing road capacity proved effective in reducing traffic density, lowering the degree of saturation to 0.78, 0.69, and 0.54. Therefore, road widening can serve as an effective solution for planning better evacuation routes.

Abstract

Labour productivity plays an important role in determining the success of a construction project, especially in lightweight masonry work, which requires high skills and affects not only the aesthetic aspect but also the durability of the building with lightweight materials suitable for high-rise buildings. This study aims to analyse the factors affecting the productivity of lightweight masonry labour on The Establishment of the University of Bengkulu's Hospital Project. The research method used is direct observation in the field, with the work sampling method using the productivity rating approach to calculate the labour utilization rate (LUR) level. The questionnaires were distributed to lightweight masonry workers to identify factors that affect productivity. Data were analysed using validity tests, reliability tests, and the Relative Importance Index (RII) analysis, and relationships between factors were looked for using matrix correlation. The results showed that the average LUR for the level of productivity of lightweight masonry labour was 63.89% which was categorised as productive because it was above 50% with the dominant factor affecting field conditions including the availability of tools, weather, and relationships between workers with an RII value of 0.88 which is included in the high level of importance. The findings contribute to managing labour productivity in construction projects and recommend improving tool management and fostering teamwork in the field.

Abstract

Soil is an essential and indispensable material in civil engineering and building design, affecting various construction works. The primary function of soil is to support the construction load built on it, so the soil must be able to carry the load. Each type of soil has different characteristics, so it requires special handling, both physically and mechanically. This research aims to determine the soil's physical and mechanical properties and its application using the finite element method in the Sawah Lebar Baru area, Bengkulu City. The Sawah Lebar Baru area is currently developing a new residential area. Based on the tests conducted, the soil in the area is classified as silt with high plasticity (MH). The tests include physical tests such as moisture content, volume weight, specific gravity, grain size analysis, and Atterberg limits, as well as mechanical tests such as free compressive strength test, consolidation test, and direct shear test. The results of this study provide information on the type, characteristics, physical and mechanical properties of soil, as well as its application in geotechnical design. The foundation design test results showed that the maximum vertical load was 32,900 kN/m², and the safety factor value was 3.047 for the 0.5 m depth variation. The maximum vertical load value in the foundation with a depth variation of 0.75 m is 67,500 kN/m², and the most significant safety factor value is 5.909. For the depth variation of 1 m, the maximum vertical load value is 118,050 kN/m², and the safe factor value is 9.864.

Abstract

Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) in Indonesia still faces various challenges, especially in the aspects of education and outreach which are not yet evenly distributed and effective. This service activity aims to assess the effectiveness of educational programs in increasing the understanding and compliance of the community and workers with B3 waste management procedures. Using a qualitative approach, data was obtained through pre-test and post-test, observation of socialization participants from various sectors. The results of service activities show that participatory and contextual-based training methods, such as Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and field simulations, are able to increase participants' knowledge and compliance significantly. However, the success of the program is highly dependent on the availability of resources, appropriate educational media, and cross-sector involvement. Therefore, the government and related agencies are advised to develop sustainable education programs that are adapted to the literacy level of participants and the local context, in order to strengthen the B3 waste management system that is oriented towards protecting health and the environment.
