Abstract

Pendidikan memegang peranan strategis dalam membangun kualitas sumber daya manusia yang berkelanjutan di tengah dinamika global dan perkembangan teknologi yang pesat. Namun, masih terbatasnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai peluang pendidikan global, khususnya studi di luar negeri, menjadi tantangan yang perlu direspons melalui kegiatan edukatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan webinar edukasi bertema “Belajar Tanpa Batas: Mengapa Kuliah di Luar Negeri Itu Istimewa?” yang diselenggarakan oleh kelompok KKN-Dik Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) di Kota Kendari. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan webinar mampu meningkatkan kesadaran peserta akan pentingnya pendidikan sebagai investasi masa depan, memperluas wawasan mengenai sistem pendidikan luar negeri, serta menumbuhkan motivasi untuk melanjutkan studi ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kegiatan edukasi berbasis webinar efektif sebagai media literasi pendidikan global. Oleh karena itu, program serupa perlu dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan untuk memperkuat kesiapan generasi muda dalam menghadapi persaingan global.

Abstract

This study investigates freshmen students’ self-perceived basic English abilities in a non-English department at an Indonesian university. Using a descriptive quantitative survey design, data were collected from 101 participants through a six-item multiple-choice questionnaire administered via an online survey platform. The findings reveal that most students rate their overall English proficiency as poor and show low confidence in using English in daily contexts. Speaking and listening emerged as the most frequently identified weak skills, while grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension were cited as major challenges. Students’ experiences learning English in high school were mixed, with many reporting inadequate preparation for university-level demands. In terms of learning strategies, students primarily relied on self-study and reading, with fewer attending formal courses, and some reporting no deliberate strategy at all. These results suggest a gap between students’ secondary education experiences and their readiness for academic English tasks. The study highlights the need for universities to provide early support focusing on communicative competence, foundational language skills, and confidence-building activities. Limitations include the exclusive use of self-reported data, a limited number of survey items, and a single-site sample. Recommendations for future research include larger samples, mixed-methods approaches, longitudinal studies, and evaluations of targeted interventions to improve students’ basic English competence

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendapatan nelayan ikan terhadap peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat di Pantai Binaloka, Kelurahan Samkai, Kecamatan Merauke, Kabupaten Merauke. Pendapatan nelayan merupakan faktor penting dalam menopang pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup rumah tangga masyarakat pesisir yang kondisi ekonominya sangat bergantung pada hasil tangkapan ikan dan kondisi alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif asosiatif dengan data primer yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh nelayan di Pantai Binaloka sebanyak 62 orang, yang sekaligus dijadikan sampel penelitian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier sederhana dengan bantuan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan nelayan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 serta nilai t-hitung sebesar 24,101 yang lebih besar dari t-tabel 1,67065. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi pendapatan nelayan, maka semakin meningkat pula kondisi ekonomi masyarakat di Pantai Binaloka. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi pemerintah daerah dalam merumuskan kebijakan peningkatan kesejahteraan nelayan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the local wisdom found in the e-book Legenda di Natuna published by the Natuna Regency Tourism Office. The data sources consist of seven regional legends, namely Legenda Tanjung Senubing, Legenda Batu Kasah, Legenda Pulau Senua, Legenda Telapak Kaki Tok Nyong, Legenda Teluk Panglima, Legenda Pulau Sahi, and Legenda Tok Ibo dan Tok Umbok. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The data, in the form of words, phrases, and sentences containing elements of local wisdom, were collected through reading and note-taking techniques, and then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that these legends reflect the worldview of the Natuna community related to social and cultural life. Local wisdom is manifested through the attitudes and behaviors of the characters in maintaining social harmony, fulfilling life responsibilities, and preserving cultural continuity. Overall, the legends illustrate a balance between harmonious social life and efforts to sustain the local cultural heritage of the Natuna community. Keywords: local wisdom, legend, folklore

Abstract

Islamic teachings place a high value on education, even holding an educated and knowledgeable person in higher esteem than an uneducated person. This study aims to uncover the strategies used by Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) teachers to improve students' prayer skills. The research method used was qualitative research with a qualitative percentage approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that several strategies were implemented by teachers, including the use of prayer theory education strategies, demonstrations of prayer practices, routine training in congregational prayer, integration of contextual learning, individual guidance, encouragement and praise, and integration of Islamic values ​​into other learning activities. These strategies aim to enhance students' understanding of the importance of prayer in their daily lives and to help them practice it effectively. The implications of this study are the importance of teachers' role in guiding students in religious aspects and its relevance in the context of religious education in schools.
