Abstract

Determination of land for the development of agricultural and forestry crops important to know as mitigation in the watershed Kaonisik Tinggimoncong Gowa district in South Sulawesi. Based on land suitability and productivity data supporting the use of land for agriculture and forestry crops on some land units. Land suitability classes determined by laboratory and field test results on a number of land characteristics that are matched to the criteria of the guidelines to grow plants with CSR/FAO staff (1983). Land mapping unit is the smallest unit that is used as the evaluation unit, obtained through remote sensing interpretation, analysis, topographical maps, geological maps, soil maps, land use, slope and soil, passed penampalan (overlay) to acquire land units map. The results showed that: 1) land suitability classes for agricultural crops; corresponding marginal (S3) 12 land units: 1450 ha (38.5%), does not match the current (N1) 1 unit area: 80.5 ha (2.2%), and not suitable permanent (N2) 11 land units: 2094 ha (59.3%). The limiting factor is the dominant medium roots (r), nutrients available (n), and terrain (s), while for forest plants: as marginal (S3) 8 units of land: 952 ha (24.9%), it is not appropriate at this time (N1) 6 unit of land: 644 ha (17.7%), not suitable permanent (N2) 10 land units: 2029 ha (57.4%). The limiting factor is the dominant medium roots (r). 2) Agihan sub-class of land suitability potential (S3rns) for the coffee plant in the village of Jonjo, Baliti, Majannang, Borong Bulo, Laloasa, Bangkitonro, Bontopanno, Gallang, with an area of 1450.5 ha Pattiro (38.5%), according to the plant sengon marginal (S3ns) Majannang village, Borong Bulo, Jonjo, Laloasa, Tonrokombang, and Manimbahoi with an area 952 ha (24.9%).

Abstract

The application of conventional teaching methods that do not actively engage students has contributed to the low academic achievement in Geography among 11th-grade social science students at SMAN 4 Gowa Regency. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Jigsaw learning model on improving Geography learning outcomes among 11th-grade social science students at SMAN 1 Pangkep using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class that applied the Jigsaw learning model and a control class that used conventional methods. The results showed a significant difference in students' learning outcomes between those taught using the Jigsaw learning model and those taught using conventional methods, with the experimental class achieving higher posttest scores and demonstrating increased student engagement in discussions and problem-solving. The study concludes that the Jigsaw learning model is effective in improving Geography learning outcomes, making it a viable alternative for educators in designing more interactive and student-centered learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to monitor the impact of sulfur dioxide (SO2), a significant contributor to atmospheric corrosion and associated with air pollution, in urban and industrial areas through empirical models of spatial distribution and temporal estimation in Medan. Datasets of Sentinel 5P NRTI are worth using to monitor the formation of sulfate aerosols or SO2 emissions from natural sources and anthropogenic origin in near real-time from 2019 until 2023 on the local scale, Medan. The source dataset covers 1,11 km of spatial image resolution on orbital in daily revisit time with a spectral bound between the ultraviolet and the shortwave infrared. The measurement of atmospheric SO2 concentrations is generated by enumerating the SO2 vertical column density technique at the soil surface with the cloud-based platform The Earth Engine (EE) Code Editor to handle large data sizes and produce interactive mapping. Based on the availability of auxiliary results, the number of spreading SO2 concentrations fell from 0,92 mmol/m2 in 2019 to 0,41 mmol/m2 in 2023, a reduction of 49.98 percent. The average of SO2 concentrations has decreased substantially over the years. Consequently, these pollutants have recorded long-term health and meteorological parameters impact that substances can rise or reduce acid rain.Keywords: Air pollution, Meteorological parameters, Sentinel 5P NRTI, SO2

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) how the learning outcomes are after using Inquiry Learning, 2) the differences in learning outcomes of class XI IPS 1 using the Inquiry Learning model and conventional learning models, 3) the effectiveness of using models in the geography learning process of class XI IPS 1 at SMAN 7 Bulukumba. Data analysis uses descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the study showed that the learning outcomes of class XI IPS1 1) after using the Inquiry Learning model obtained an average value of 85.35, 2) the differences in learning outcomes of class XI IPS1 using the Inquiry Learning and conventional learning models were 85.35 and 78.60 there was an increase of 6.75, and 3) the effectiveness of using the Inquiry Learning model was 100, so the level of effectiveness of the Inquiry Learning model in this study was included in the very effective category.

Abstract

Artikel ini menggambarkan persepsi dan perilaku masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah, dengan fokus pada faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kesadaran dan partisipasi warga dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di RT/RW 10/04 Kelurahan Manggarai, Jakarta Selatan, yang berada di bantaran Sungai Ciliwung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendapatkan gambaran secara mendalam mengenai perilaku dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap sampah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi masyarakat terkait dampak buruk sampah terhadap lingkungan serta perilaku mereka dalam membuang, mengelola, dan mendaur ulang sampah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah masih kurang, yang ditunjukkan dengan praktik membuang sampah ke sungai dan minimnya partisipasi dalam program pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas. Faktor yang memengaruhi perilaku ini meliputi kurangnya fasilitas pengelolaan sampah, lemahnya sosialisasi dari pemerintah, serta kebiasaan yang sulit diubah. Namun, terdapat potensi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran melalui pendekatan berbasis komunitas dan penggunaan media digital untuk edukasi dan kampanye lingkungan. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam merancang strategi yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan perilaku masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the prevalence of landslides and the level of landslide vulnerability in the Cenrana sub-district, Maros district. Finding areas prone to landslides through land unit maps derived by displaying rainfall maps, slope maps, land use maps, rock type maps, and soil maps. Field survey data collection and laboratory analysis. Data analysis in cartographic research, based on geographic information systems. The results of the research show that the level of landslide vulnerability in the Cenrana, Agihan sub-districts is low in most parts of the North, with a small part in the Baji Pamai and Limampoccoe areas. The moderate level of vulnerability is spread across the central part of the North and Rompegading. Landslide proneness is high in most parts of the East, South, West, Cenrana Baru, Labuaja, Lebbotenggae, and Laiya. The level of landslide proneness is very high in parts of Laiya and Lebbotenggae.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui agihan longsor dan tingkat kerawanan longsor di kecamatan Cenrana kabupaten Maros. Menemutunjukkan daerah rawan longsor melalui peta satuan lahan diturunkan dengan penampalan peta curah hujan, peta lereng, peta penggunaan lahan, peta jenis batuan dan peta tanah. Pengumpulan data survey lapang dan analisis laboratorium. Analisis data dalam penelitian kartografis, berbasis sistem informasi geografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kerawanan longsor kecamatan Cenrana, Agihan tingkat rawan longsor rendah terdapat di sebagian besar di Utara, sebagian kecil di daerah Baji Pamai, dan Limampoccoe. Tingkat rawan sedang tersebar di bagian tengah Utara, dan Rompegading. Rawan longsor tinggi hampir disebagian besar bagian Timur, Selatan, Barat, Cenrana Baru, Labuaja, Lebbotengngae, dan Laiya. Tingkat rawan longsor sangat tinggi tersebar di sebagian di Laiya dan Lebbotengngae.

Abstract

As one of the urban green spaces, campuses play a crucial role in preserving urban biodiversity. This study analyzes the diversity and distribution of avifauna, within the UNM Parangtambung Campus as a form of higher education’s contribution to mitigating the triple planetary crisis through urban biodiversity conservation. Observations were conducted at ten points using the direct count method, with Shannon–Wiener and Simpson indices applied to assess diversity and dominance. A Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) analysis was employed to examine the relationship between vegetation cover and bird distribution. The results revealed 21 bird species (860 individuals) and 22 plant species (148 individuals). The diversity index (H′ = 2.46) indicates a moderate level of diversity, with low dominance (D = 0.24). The bird distribution pattern was clumped, concentrated in areas with dense vegetation and low human activity. Vegetation had a significant influence on bird abundance. These findings highlight that the UNM campus landscape has the potential to serve as a micro-conservation area and a green campus model for maintaining ecological balance within urban environments.

Abstract

Pengelolaan kawasan wisata alam membutuhkan kesiapan sumber daya manusia dalam menghadapi kondisi darurat seperti hilangnya pengunjung, kecelakaan, dan bencana alam. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Kawasan Wisata Tanralili ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas pengelola melalui pemanfaatan teknologi Geographic Information System (GIS) berbasis perangkat lunak dan keras. Metode yang digunakan meliputi On-site Training dan Studi Kasus dalam empat tahapan: (1) pendekatan kelompok untuk memetakan potensi dan kebutuhan pengelola wisata, (2) pengenalan teknologi GIS dalam penanganan darurat, (3) praktik penggunaan hardware dan software GIS, serta (4) evaluasi efektivitas kegiatan. Teknologi yang dimanfaatkan mencakup Google Earth Pro, SASPlanet, ArcGIS 10.8, Global Mapper, Agisoft, Avenza Maps, SW Maps, dan Google Find My Device untuk mendukung pemetaan, navigasi, dan pencarian pengunjung. Sementara itu, drone DJI Mavic Pro digunakan untuk pemantauan udara dan pencarian di medan sulit. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui tes pemahaman, observasi keterampilan, dan umpan balik peserta. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep GIS dan keterampilan teknis pengelola, serta peningkatan kesiapsiagaan menghadapi situasi darurat secara cepat, efektif, dan berbasis teknologi.

Abstract

Nelayan berperan penting dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan dan mata pencaharian masyarakat pesisir di Indonesia, namun banyak di antara mereka masih menghadapi keterbatasan akses terhadap teknologi navigasi sehingga kegiatan penangkapan ikan menjadi kurang efisien. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas nelayan melalui pelatihan penggunaan teknologi Global Positioning System (GPS). Kegiatan ini melibatkan 14 orang nelayan sebagai peserta dan dilaksanakan selama dua bulan yang mencakup tahap persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik lapangan, dan evaluasi. Materi pelatihan meliputi pengoperasian dasar GPS, penandaan titik lokasi tangkapan (waypoint), membaca koordinat lintang-bujur, serta memindahkan data ke peta digital menggunakan aplikasi Google Earth. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur capaian pembelajaran peserta. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, dengan nilai rata-rata meningkat dari 37,7 menjadi 80,1. Peserta juga mampu menghasilkan serangkaian titik koordinat lokasi tangkapan dan memvisualisasikannya pada peta digital, yang menandakan penguasaan keterampilan praktis. Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas teknis nelayan dalam merencanakan rute penangkapan secara lebih efisien, serta menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan pemetaan zona tangkap partisipatif dan pengelolaan perikanan skala kecil yang berkelanjutan di masa mendatang.
