Abstract

One of Ma'had al-Jami'ah's missions is to produce students adept at reading and correctly writing the Koran. However, the implementation of the Ma'had al-Jami'ah program is still considered not optimal in improving students' skills because there is a gap between the concept of the Tahsin al-Qur'an learning program and the situation that occurs in the field. This research aims to present comprehensive and in-depth information about the evaluation results of the Ma'had al-Jami'ah program in developing students' Tahsin skills. This research uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model evaluation research developed by Stufflebeam. Interviews and document study carried out data collection. The subjects in this research were the Head of the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah Unit, Ma'had Program lecturers, and students. Data analysis uses the Milles and Huberman model. Based on the evaluation carried out on the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah IAIN Palopo program. The results were that the IAIN Palopo Ma'had al-Jami'ah Program, in improving students' Tahsin skills, was considered very good overall. With each aspect: 1) the context aspect is in the very good category by meeting four indicators; 2) the input aspect is in the good category by fulfilling three of the four categories; 3) the process aspect meets four indicators, so it is included in the very good category; and 4) product aspects are also in the very good category by meeting three indicators.

Abstract

Numeracy is a crucial competence that remains a challenge at the primary education level in Indonesia. National and international assessments revealed that many students struggle to understand and apply mathematical concepts in real-life contexts. This study aimed to analyze the influence of students' perceptions of teachers' roles on their numeracy skills, focusing on three aspects: academic expectations, constructive feedback, and structured instructional guidance. A quantitative approach was used with multiple linear regression analysis, utilizing secondary data from the 2023 National Computer-Based Assessment (ANBK), involving a sample of 164,260 elementary and Islamic elementary school students from various regions in Indonesia. The findings showed that all three variables significantly influenced students’ numeracy skills, with an R² value of 0.105. Among the predictors, structured instructional guidance had the greatest contribution to numeracy scores, followed by constructive feedback and academic expectations. These results indicate that structure, clarity, and support provided by teachers play a vital role in improving students’ numerical literacy. The study concluded that strengthening teachers’ capacity to deliver systematic guidance, communicate high expectations, and provide constructive feedback is essential to sustainably enhance primary students’ numeracy competence.

Abstract

Oil palm is one of Indonesia’s major plantation commodities and plays an important role as a source of national foreign exchange. The decline in oil palm productivity due to the high proportion of damaged and unproductive plants has increased the need for replanting supported by the production of high-quality seedlings. The success of seedling production is influenced by growing media and fertilization, particularly in Ultisol soils, which are characterized by low organic matter content. This study aimed to evaluate the growth response of oil palm seedlings to the application of rice straw compost and NPKMg fertilizer and to determine the best treatment combination in the main nursery. The experiment was conducted for three months using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments: p0 = 100% of the recommended dose of NPKMg p1 = 200 g rice straw compost + 50% of the recommended dose of NPKMg; p2 = 250 g rice straw compost + 50% of the recommended dose of NPKMg; p3 = 300 g rice straw compost + 50% of the recommended dose of NPKMg; and p4 = 350 g rice straw compost + 50% of the recommended dose of NPKMg, with four replications. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% significance level. The results showed that the combination of rice straw compost and NPKMg fertilizer improved seedling height and shoot dry weight, whereas leaf number, stem diameter, root dry weight, shoot-to-root ratio, and seedling quality index did not improve. The application of 250 g rice straw compost combined with 50% of the recommended dose of NPKMg (15-15-6-4) was the best treatment and produced seedling growth comparable to that obtained with the 100% recommended dose of NPKMg. Therefore, this combination is recommended as an alternative to reduce the use of inorganic fertilizer by up to 50%.
