Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study evaluates the influence of digital marketing strategies and face-to-face interaction on consumer purchase decisions in start-up companies in West Java, with consumer preferences as a moderating variable. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for quantitative data analysis and thematic interviews for qualitative insights. The findings reveal that both strategies have a positive and significant impact on purchase decisions. Face-to-face interaction proves to have a stronger influence in building trust and increasing purchase intention, while digital marketing strategies are effective in generating initial awareness. Consumer preferences moderate the impact of face-to-face interaction, indicating that personal experiences are favored by the majority of consumers. These findings support the theories of Customer Engagement and Trust-Building, and highlight the importance of an omnichannel approach that integrates both digital and in-person strategies to create a holistic consumer experience. The study recommends that start-ups adopt integrated marketing strategies to enhance customer loyalty and campaign effectiveness. Future research may explore the role of advanced technologies in strengthening this integration and their impact on consumer behavior. Keywords: Digital marketing, face-to-face interaction, consumer purchase decision, consumer preferences, start-up.

Abstract

This study addresses chronic operational inefficiencies at the Batu Licin Fuel Terminal (TBBM), PT Multi Trading Pratama, characterized by prolonged industrial fuel truck queues. Applying a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, the research collected quantitative data from 120 service events and qualitative insights from operational staff. Analysis using the M/M/c queuing model revealed system instability (ρ=1.37), an average queue length (Lq) of 8.41 trucks, and an average waiting time (Wq) of 68.9 minutes during peak hours. Root causes identified through thematic analysis include schedule non-compliance, high service time variability, and inefficient pre-loading procedures. Simulation of optimization scenarios demonstrated that adding a third loading arm (server) was the most effective intervention, stabilizing the system (ρ=0.91) and reducing waiting time by 89.8%. This research contributes to operational management literature by providing empirical evidence for applying Queuing Theory in the downstream energy sector and offers actionable, prioritized recommendations for terminal managers to enhance throughput, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of operational management in the production of chitosan fertilizer based on swimming crab shell waste at the Cangkang Salona Group, Loktuan Village, Bontang City. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. The results show that aspects of operational management such as production planning, raw material management, production processes, and cost control have not been implemented optimally. The main constraints are limited human resource capacity in cost accounting, simple production technology, and irregular supply chains. However, this business has great potential in supporting sustainable agriculture and local community empowerment. Recommendations given include the implementation of structured production planning, continuous training on production cost calculation, implementation of simple digital recording systems, and strengthening partnerships with external parties. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to improve operational efficiency, business sustainability, and positive impacts on the local economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of operational management in overcoming payroll delays at PT Tri Arsa Mandiri, a shipping agency company. Methodology / approach: The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with 8 informants (5 employees, 2 finance staff, and 1 operations manager), and document analysis of payroll policies and reports for the 2022-2023 period. Data were analyzed thematically to identify causal factors and formulate improvements. Findings: The study found that the manual payroll system causes process inefficiency, low accuracy, and delays in salary distribution. Key inhibiting factors include limited technological resources, complexity of tax calculations, lack of standardized procedures, and high dependence on specific individuals in the verification process. The proposed solution is the implementation of a computerized payroll system, development of clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and training for finance staff. Originality / value: This research provides practical insights into operational management improvements in payroll systems within the context of Indonesian shipping agency companies, which have not been widely studied. The recommendations are contextual and can be directly applied by the company. Practical implications: The implementation of technology-based solutions and procedural standardization is expected to improve operational efficiency, tax compliance, and employee productivity.
