Abstract

The cultivation of character values based on Hindu teachings has a high urgency in addressing the phenomenon of moral crisis among the younger generation, including students. This study aims to analyze the role of Hindu religion teachers in instilling the values of satya (honesty) and ahimsa (non-violence) in elementary school students at Cluster VI, Buleleng District. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that: (1) satya and ahimsa are understood as ethical foundations within the Tri Kaya Parisudha teachings, which are relevant in shaping students’ noble character and empathy; (2) the role of Hindu religion teachers includes being role models and motivators, facilitators and mentors, as well as innovators who integrate these values into various school activities; (3) the implications observed are the improvement of honesty, discipline, and social awareness, along with the decrease of deviant behaviors such as bullying and disorderliness among students. This study affirms the importance of Hindu religion teachers as facilitators of values and agents of character formation. The success of instilling satya and ahimsa requires systemic, collaborative, and contextual support among schools, families, and communities.

Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the educational character values embedded in the Tumpek Krulut cultural tradition at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kubutambahan. Tumpek Krulut, known as a day of affection in Balinese culture, expresses love not only toward partners but also toward all living beings. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study method, the research finds that this tradition instills ethical, religious, caring, communal, mutual respect, hard work, creativity, communication, environmental concern, social responsibility, and accountability values. Implementing this tradition in schools has the potential to strengthen social bonds and foster peace through the practice of universal values. Keyword: Educational Character Values, Cultural Tradition, Tumpek Krulut.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan dalam tradisi budaya Tumpek Krulut di SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kubutambahan. Tumpek Krulut, sebagai hari kasih sayang dalam budaya Bali, tidak hanya mengungkapkan kasih sayang kepada pasangan tetapi juga kepada seluruh makhluk. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tradisi ini menanamkan nilai etika, religius, kepedulian, kebersamaan, saling menghormati, kerja keras, kreativitas, komunikasi, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Implementasi tradisi ini di sekolah berpotensi mempererat hubungan sosial dan menciptakan kedamaian melalui praktik nilai-nilai universal. Kata Kunci: Nilai Karakter Pendidikan, Tradisi Budaya, Tumpek Krulut.

Abstract

Abstract: This quasi-experimental study aimed to analyze the effect of the Science Technology Society (STM) Model on IPAS among fourth-grade students at Elementary School Cluster II, Ranomeeto. A random sampling technique selected the sample, comprising 27 students from SDN 5 Ranomeeto (experimental group) instructed using the STM Model and 26 students from SDN 6 Ranomeeto (control group) taught conventionally. Data analysis employed ANOVA. Results demonstrated a statistically significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups (F(1,51) = 371.72, p < 0.05). The STM Model exerts a significant effect on enhancing students' IPAS learning outcomes.  Keyword: Science Technology Society Model, Learning Outcomes, Science and Science. Abstrak: Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh Model Sains Teknologi Masyarakat (STM) terhadap Hasil Belajar IPAS siswa kelas IV SD Gugus II Ranomeeto. Sampel diambil secara random sampling, terdiri dari 27 siswa SDN 5 (kelompok eksperimen) yang diajar dengan model STM dan 26 siswa SDN 6 (kelompok kontrol) yang diajar secara konvensional. Analisis data menggunakan uji ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol (F = 371,72; p < 0,05). Model Sains Teknologi Masyarakat berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan Hasil Belajar IPAS siswa. Kata Kunci: Model Sains Teknologi Masyarakat, Hasil Belajar, IPAS.
