Abstract

Natural inert dust has been used as a grain protectant since the ancient Aztecs of Mexico to this modern era. Natural inert dust is divided into three groups: the first group includes sand, kaolin, paddy husk ash, wood ash, and clay; the second group includes mineral dust; and the third group includes natural silicas such as diatomaceous earth and zeolite. Natural inert dust has a unique mechanism for killing insect pests. Inert dust particles penetrate the insects’ exoskeleton, causing dehydration through the cuticle. Relative humidity is a crucial factor affecting the efficacy of inert dust application. Inert dust has been traditionally used by farmers, which impacts the insects, such as decreasing population, no insect resistance, and being environmentally friendly. Problems of using inert dust include visible residues on grain, airborne dust, reduced flowability, bulk density reduction, and adverse effects on downstream processing machinery. Moreover, inert dust is a very light product, thus it may cause human respiratory illness. The inert dust can be applied to the smaller or larger storage containers. Natural silica can be readily integrated into modern agriculture as a pest management solution.

Abstract

Odontectomy is one of the surgical procedures used to remove impacted teeth. Flap design is an important variable in oral surgery procedures, as it is useful for optimal visibility, access to the surgical area, and the healing process. Although envelope flaps and triangular flaps are the most commonly used designs, complications following odontectomy still frequently occur. This article dis-cusses the use of an alternative flap design, the reversed triangular flap, in relation to post-odontectomy complications of the third molar in the lower jaw. The selection of the reversed triangular flap showed a lower incidence of dehiscence and lower bleeding scores compared to the triangular flap. The use of the reversed triangular flap also showed a lower incidence of dehiscence com-pared to the envelope flap. It is concluded that the reversed triangular flap can be used as a safe flap design option with minimal post-odontectomy effects compared to the triangular flap and envelope flap.

Abstract

This paper explores how linguistic choices in corporate strategy discourse reflect strategic goals—informing, persuading, and engaging—through the lens of Halliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics and Jakobson’s Communication Model. Using data from the video “The Great Debate on Corporate Strategy”, the study analyzes how expert speakers deploy ideational, interpersonal, and textual functions (Halliday) alongside referential, conative, emotive, and poetic functions (Jakobson). The findings reveal that corporate discourse is multifunctional, blending technical precision, rhetorical appeal, and stylistic engagement to achieve communicative impact. The paper concludes that integrating both linguistic frameworks offers a comprehensive understanding of strategic speech in professional contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization strategy for santripreneur development through the utilization of Sharia-based e-commerce startups and to examine the level of tax compliance within modern Islamic boarding schools. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, the research explores pesantren that have implemented digital entrepreneurship initiatives. The findings reveal that the application of Sharia-based e-commerce significantly enhances the economic independence of santri and expands the marketing network of pesantren products while promoting ethical and transparent business practices. However, low tax literacy among santri entrepreneurs remains a key challenge in achieving fiscal compliance. Integrating tax education and Sharia e-commerce training within the pesantren’s entrepreneurship curriculum is therefore crucial to establishing a sustainable santripreneur ecosystem that aligns with Islamic principles and national taxation laws. The study also highlights the strategic role of digitalization in transforming pesantren into centers of halal entrepreneurship and financial accountability. By combining religious, economic, and fiscal dimensions, this model contributes to the creation of responsible, innovative, and competitive santri entrepreneurs in the digital era. Future research is recommended to empirically validate this conceptual framework through field studies across diverse pesantren contexts.
