Abstract

To contribute and lead the future, the young generation is an agent of change and a determinant of the future survival of the nation. They should be able to communicate well, including speaking in public. Speaking in public is not the same as speaking at home. Although not everyone has the ability to speak in public, everyone has a ability to talk. Just like today's younger generation, which needs guidance and attention to be able to perform with confidence in public. Early adolescence is an important period in a person's development, including the ability to speak in public. This ability will be very useful to them. Many high school students, especially the ninth grade, still feel distressed and nervous when speaking in public. This can cause them difficulties in conveying their ideas and ideas clearly. As a result, public speaking training should be designed specifically for ninth-grade high school students, especially in Sinjai 15th grade high school. The aim is to provide early supplies to students who will enter high school, as they will speak more often in public, such as in discussions in classes, presentations, and other events related to speaking in public.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' literacy skills at Sekolah Pustaka Lontara through interactive literacy-based learning. The issue of low reading interest and literacy comprehension among students has prompted the need for more effective and enjoyable teaching methods. The interactive learning implemented includes activities such as group reading, group discussions, and educational games designed to stimulate interest and reading skills. The research uses a qualitative approach with techniques such as observation, interviews, and analysis of students' learning outcomes. The results show a significant improvement in students' literacy comprehension, reflected in literacy test results and student responses to reading activities. The use of interactive learning also encourages students to be more actively engaged and enjoy the learning process. This program demonstrates that an interactive approach can be an effective solution to enhancing literacy skills in schools facing challenges related to resources and student interest. The study recommends integrating interactive methods into the curriculum to achieve more optimal literacy outcomes. Abstrak Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa di Sekolah Pustaka Lontara melalui pembelajaran interaktif berbasis literasi. Permasalahan rendahnya minat baca dan pemahaman literasi di kalangan siswa memicu perlunya metode pengajaran yang lebih efektif dan menyenangkan. Pembelajaran interaktif yang diterapkan melibatkan kegiatan membaca bersama, diskusi kelompok, serta permainan edukatif yang dirancang untuk merangsang minat dan keterampilan membaca. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan analisis hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman literasi siswa, yang tercermin dari hasil tes literasi dan respons siswa terhadap kegiatan membaca. Penggunaan pembelajaran interaktif juga mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif berpartisipasi dan menikmati proses belajar. Program ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan interaktif dapat menjadi salah satu solusi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi di sekolah-sekolah yang masih menghadapi tantangan dalam hal sumber daya dan minat siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi metode interaktif dalam kurikulum untuk mencapai hasil literasi yang lebih optimal.

Abstract

Banuaoge merupakan salah satu warisan budaya rumah adat suku Kaili, Sulawesi Tengah. Untuk mempertahankan warisan budaya kota, maka pemberdayaan bangunan cagar budaya merupakan hal yang mutlak dilakukan. Dalam fenomena seperti inilah revitalisasi terhadap bangunan cagar budaya penting dilakukan agar bangunan lama tersebut tidak mengalami penurunan baik dari segi eksistensi maupun sebagai objek vital di kawasan tersebut. Banuaoge telah direvitalisasi sebanyak dua kali yaitu pada 1983 dan yang terakhir pada 2022. Penelitian terhadap Banuaoge ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya revitalisasi dan mengkaji hasil yang dilakukan terhadap bangunan cagar budaya Banuaoge. Kajian ini penting untuk dilakukan mengingat eksistensi Banuaoge sebagai salah satu situs cagar budaya di Sulawesi Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan cara menganalisis objek berdasarkan hasil survey lapangan kemudian dikaitkan dengan dengan landasan teori yang sesuai dengan kriteria-kriteria bangunan cagar budaya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa proses restorasi Banuaoge di Kota Palu secara garis besar tergolong restorasi mayor, dimana proses restorasi tersebut harus mempertimbangkan beberapa prinsip-prinsip. Restorasi yang dilakukan juga harus mengedepankan pada aspek pelestarian dengan memanfaatkan kembali bahan-bahan yang digunakan dan mengganti bahan yang tidak dapat digunakan.

Abstract

Economic progress in Sinjai Regency is also influenced by the quality of education. Thus, education plays an important role in driving economic growth in the region. By increasing efficiency in the learning process, the younger generation who are studying can gain a deeper understanding of economics, so that they can make a significant contribution to economic progress in Sinjai Regency. Given the high economic needs that continue to grow, education plays an important role in producing quality human resources (HR). These HR will later influence economic growth in the future. Education is an effort to develop human resources that are able to produce HR to support development, while development itself is also a step to support educational progress through coaching, research, and provision of facilities. However, the success of an educational institution is more determined by factors other than economic aspects, namely the commitment, expertise, and abilities of its educators.

Abstract

Odontogenic cutaneus fistula (OCF) arises as a sequel of bacterial invasion of the tooth. Evidence from animal studies and se-veral trials suggests that honey has a potential role in the field of tissue engineering and regeneration. This article describes the management of OCF due to left mandibular abscess using honey as a wound dressing treatment. A 29-year-old woman was re-ferred to Hasanuddin University Dental and Oral Hospital for evaluation of a painful left facial swelling with spontaneous purulent drainage and limited mouth opening. The patient had a history of recurrent toothache since 10 days before. The patient was ad-mitted to the hospital and a tooth extraction was performed under local anaesthesia. The infected facial fistula was treated using honey as a wound dressing. After 12 weeks, tissue granulation and epithelisation were observed and the wound size was signi-ficantly reduced. It was concluded that the OCF management caused by mandibular abscess included observation and closed care, antibiotic therapy, surgical intervention, and honey as wound dressing.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure of persuasive text and the linguistic characteristics of persuasive text by students of class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Maros. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The focus of this research is the structure of persuasive text and the linguistic characteristics of persuasive text. The research data source is persuasive text by students. The data collection technique was carried out using the mark reading technique and the note taking technique. The instrument of this research is the researcher himself as the main instrument and supporting instruments such as documentation studies in the form of students' persuasive text work. The results of this study prove that, mastery of the structure of persuasive text and the linguistic characteristics of persuasive text is still weak which is characterized by the incomplete structure and lack of linguistic features in the work of persuasive text.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the feasibility of the economic installation system of Solar Street Lighting (PJU-TS) on Sapuka Island, Liukang Tangaya District, Pangkep Regency—an island region that is categorized as a disadvantaged region. The study uses a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) approach to produce the economic efficiency of the PJU-TS project. Based on the calculation of Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR), and Payback Period, the results show that this project is economically feasible and provides significant social benefits. These findings support the development of renewable energy as a lighting solution in island areas that are difficult to reach by conventional electricity networks.

Abstract

Technological developments have played a significant role in the world of education. The benefits of technology for the world of education include obtaining information, increasing students’ learning abilities, facilitating access to learning, making material more interesting and being able to increase interest in learning. Indonesian is one of the lessons that must keep up with technological developments. Independent Campus is the policy of the Minister of Education and Culture, where the goal and mission is to encourage students to master various knowledge that is useful for entering the world of work. Through this policy, the Merdeka Campus provides opportunities for students to choose the courses they want to take as well as freedom of thought and innovation for lecturers and students. This article will also explain that technological developments and the Merdeka Campus learning program play a very important role in improving the quality of education, one of which is in learning Indonesian. This can be seen from the implementation of the benefits of technology in improving Indonesian language learning and the Merdeka Campus policy which provides freedom to innovate and study independently which is able to increase creativity in learning Indonesian.

Abstract

Natural inert dust has been used as a grain protectant since the ancient Aztecs of Mexico to this modern era. Natural inert dust is divided into three groups: the first group includes sand, kaolin, paddy husk ash, wood ash, and clay; the second group includes mineral dust; and the third group includes natural silicas such as diatomaceous earth and zeolite. Natural inert dust has a unique mechanism for killing insect pests. Inert dust particles penetrate the insects’ exoskeleton, causing dehydration through the cuticle. Relative humidity is a crucial factor affecting the efficacy of inert dust application. Inert dust has been traditionally used by farmers, which impacts the insects, such as decreasing population, no insect resistance, and being environmentally friendly. Problems of using inert dust include visible residues on grain, airborne dust, reduced flowability, bulk density reduction, and adverse effects on downstream processing machinery. Moreover, inert dust is a very light product, thus it may cause human respiratory illness. The inert dust can be applied to the smaller or larger storage containers. Natural silica can be readily integrated into modern agriculture as a pest management solution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meringkas berbagai jenis evaluasi yang bisa diterapkan dalam usaha pendidikan nonformal. Mengingat tantangan yang dihadapi oleh pelaku usaha pendidikan nonformal, evaluasi menjadi langkah penting untuk mengukur keberhasilan program dan melakukan perbaikan. Melalui studi pustaka, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi beragam model evaluasi yang telah dikembangkan, seperti evaluasi sumatif dan formatif, serta model-model evaluasi yang lebih spesifik seperti CIPP dan CSE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keragaman pendekatan dalam evaluasi pendidikan nonformal. Pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap berbagai model evaluasi ini diharapkan bisa memberikan panduan bagi para pelaku usaha pendidikan nonformal dalam menentukan metode evaluasi yang paling cocok dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik program mereka.
