Abstract

This article aims to determine and understand the position of the guardian in marriage according to the Hanafi and the al-Shafi’i madhhab, and its application to Islamic law (fiqh), as well as its actualization in social life. Furthermore, to obtain data and answers to these problems, descriptive qualitative (non-statistical) research was used, which focused on the normative approach method. The results found a difference between the Hanafi and the al-Shafi’i madhhab in viewing the position of a guardian in a marriage. The Hanafi madhhab views that a guardian in marriage is not a pillar but only a sunnah, hence, the absence of the guardian does not affect the ijab-qabūl. This is in contrast with the al-Shafi’i madhhab perspective, which places the guardian as one of the pillars, and the absence makes the consent of the qabūl invalid. There is also a sense of security that arises as a result of the guardian's permission. Therefore, because marriage is a life decision, women's choices need to be based on the instruction and knowledge of the guardian.

Abstract

A study was conducted on Sombori Island, Central Sulawesi. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of heavy metals and the origin of contamination and the impact of heavy metal contamination. Seawater samples totaling 30 stations were analyzed in the form of total suspended solids (TSS), pH, salinity and heavy metal content of hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) and nickel (Ni) using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) analysis. The heavy metals chromium (Cr) and nickel in the sediment were analyzed using flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). The results of the study showed that heavy metals in seawater in the form of Ni are still safe for the marine ecosystem of the research area. However, the heavy metal Cr6+ has contaminated several marine waters stations because it has exceeded the established quality standards so that it can have a negative impact on the marine ecosystem including humans through the food chain. The content of heavy metal Cr in marine sediments has not passed the established sediment quality standards. However, for heavy metal Ni in sediment, it has exceeded the established sediment quality standards so that it has had a negative impact on the marine ecosystem that lives and feeds around/on the sediment including humans through the food chain. Sources of contamination of heavy metals in water and sediment are from the weathering of ultramafic rocks containing heavy metals, mining activities, shipping activities using fossil fuels, the use of ship paint containing heavy metals, solid waste from ships containing heavy metals and domestic waste.

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the mistakes made by second-grade students at Ma'had Ibad Ar-Rahman Surabaya in using fi‘il muta‘addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr in Arabic sentences and the underlying reasons. The research method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The instruments used were observations and tests of ten students out of a total of 19 students. The test consists of 10 Indonesian sentences with transitive verbs with prepositions, and then these sentences are translated into Arabic in the form of fi‘il muta‘addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr. The results obtained are as follows: Forms of errors in using fi‘il muta‘addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr in students are subtracting and replacing the jarr letters that should be used. The factors that influence these mistakes are (1) ignorance of the boundaries of verb rules, (2) influences from the mother tongue, (3) little learning of Arabic rules, and (4) psychological factors such as haste, forgetfulness, laziness, and others. To address these factors, teachers can use methods that explain the rules of the Arabic language, such as the taqobuli method. This teaching method compares the rules of the Arabic language with those of the Indonesian language. By doing so, students can understand the differences and similarities in the rules of using the 'jarr' letters in 'fi'il muta'addi’ between the two languages.
