Abstract

This study examines the role of female scholars in formulating environmentally friendly fatwas in Indonesia, highlighting how gender perspectives influence religious approaches to ecological issues. This research is important because it highlights the contributions of female scholars from highly patriarchal communities, showing how they can articulate environmental issues as a religious mandate and provide faith-based responses to the ecological crisis—an approach that is rarely found in mainstream fatwas. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 female scholars involved in drafting environmental fatwas in East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi, supplemented by fatwa document analysis and participatory observation in regional religious forums. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis, focusing on gender narratives, ecological theological frameworks, and argument patterns in fatwas. The findings show that female scholars play a strategic role in promoting sustainable environmental practices on religious platforms. These findings emphasize that gender is not merely a social variable but a crucial factor in religious leadership and the use of fatwas as an effective tool for ecological advocacy in Muslim communities. [Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji peran ulama perempuan dalam merumuskan fatwa ramah lingkungan di Indonesia, dengan menyoroti bagaimana perspektif gender memengaruhi pendekatan agama terhadap isu-isu ekologis. Penelitian ini signifikan karena menyoroti kontribusi ulama perempuan dari komunitas yang sangat patriarkis, menunjukkan bagaimana mereka mampu memposisikan isu lingkungan sebagai amanah keagamaan dan memberikan respons keagamaan terhadap krisis ekologis, yang jarang terlihat dalam fatwa mainstream. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 12 ulama perempuan yang terlibat dalam perumusan fatwa lingkungan di Jawa Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat, dan Sulawesi Selatan, dilengkapi dengan analisis dokumen fatwa dan observasi partisipatif pada forum keagamaan regional. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis isi kualitatif, dengan fokus pada narasi gender, kerangka ekoteologis, dan pola argumentasi dalam fatwa.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ulama perempuan memainkan peran strategis dalam mendorong praktik lingkungan berkelanjutan melalui platform keagamaan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa gender bukan sekadar variabel sosial, melainkan faktor penting dalam kepemimpinan agama dan penggunaan fatwa sebagai instrumen advokasi ekologis yang efektif di masyarakat Muslim].

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the urgency of improving the quality of education in facing the challenges of human resource development towards the golden generation of 2045. Student learning outcomes are the main indicator of learning success that is influenced by various factors, including teacher skills in teaching, the availability of facilities, and student learning motivation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of teacher teaching skills, learning facilities, and learning motivation on student learning outcomes at MTs Unggulan Al Jadid Waru Sidoarjo. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research sample amounted to 107 students selected through purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and observations, with the questionnaire instrument using an eight-point Likert scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. Multiple linear regression tests, t-tests, simultaneous tests, and determination coefficient tests were used as the data analysis process. Student learning outcomes were proven to be significantly influenced by teacher teaching skills, learning facilities, and learning motivation, as shown in the research findings. In addition, student learning outcomes were proven to be significantly influenced by the three variables studied simultaneously.

Abstract

The increasing exposure to radical ideologies among adolescents, particularly through digital media, has become a serious challenge in the socio-religious life of society. Adolescents, as individuals in the phase of identity formation, are highly vulnerable to the influence of exclusive and intolerant religious ideologies. Therefore, strategic efforts are needed through the approach of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which emphasizes not only cognitive aspects but also the values of religious moderation. This community service program aims to strengthen adolescents’ understanding and attitudes toward religious moderation as an effort to prevent radicalism among youth in Panjunan Village. The methods employed in this program include socialization, interactive training, group discussions, and mentoring based on the Islamic values of rahmatan lil ‘alamin. The target participants are secondary school adolescents in Panjunan Village who live in a community with high access to digital media. The materials delivered include the concept of religious moderation, characteristics of radical ideologies, and the reinforcement of attitudes such as tolerance, inclusivity, and nationalism. The results of the program indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of religious moderation, as well as the development of critical attitudes toward provocative and intolerant religious content. Furthermore, participants demonstrated more open-minded attitudes and greater respect for diversity. Thus, strengthening religious moderation based on Islamic Religious Education is effective as a preventive measure against the spread of radical ideologies among adolescents in Panjunan Village.
