Abstract

Several studies have found a correlation between servant leadership and work engagement, but a more in-depth study is still needed to analyze the relationship between the two in different research subjects, namely, honorary employees. This study aims to determine the relationship between servant leadership and work engagement among honorary employees. All respondents consist of 72 honorary employees selected using the total sample technique. The instruments used are the Utrecht Work Engagement Survey (UWES) and the Servant Leadership Scale. The results of the Spearman rank correlation test in this study show a correlation coefficient value of 0.559 (p < 0.05), which can be interpreted as a significant positive relationship between servant leadership and work engagement among honorary employees.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Big Five personality dimensions on students' self-directed learning readiness during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 218 students who are running online learning are the subjects of this research. Data were collected using the Self-Directed Learning Readiness scale and the Big Five scale. Based on the results of the regression analysis, it is known that the five personality dimensions in the Big Five have a significant role in students' self-directed learning readiness during the COVID-19 pandemic. The five dimensions of the Big Five together contributed 58.7% to students' self-directed learning readiness during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, it was also found that partially conscientiousness personality is the variable that can most influence students' self-directed learning readiness, followed by openness to experience and agreeableness personality in the next order in influencing students' self-directed learning readiness during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the other two Big Five personality dimensions, neuroticism and extraversion, did not significantly affect students' self-directed learning readiness.

Abstract

The transition of work systems from WFH to WFO to establish the new normal after COVID-19 has led to excessive workload, resulting in prolonged fatigue and stress symptoms for employees. This research aims to examine the influence of work-life balance as a mediator in the influence between flexibility and employee burnout. The measurement tools used in this study are the burnout scale (α=0.970), flexibility scale (α=0.82), and work-life balance scale (α=0.973). This research employs a quantitative method with participants consisting of employees working in Jakarta. Involving 104 research participants, this study utilizes a non-probability sampling technique with convenient online sampling. The research data is analyzed using the Process Macro for SPSS 3.0 by Hayes (2018). The results of this study state that flexibility and employee burnout are significantly affected by work-life balance. The implications of this study indicate that work-life balance plays an important role in the relationship between flexibility and burnout. Efforts to reduce employee burnout can be made by developing intervention programs related to understanding and skills in balancing employees' work lives. Abstract

Generation Z has a significantly lower work loyalty level than other generations. One of the reasons for the decline in their loyalty is the non-physical work environment, which includes harmonious relationships among colleagues, superiors, and subordinates. This study aims to investigate the influence of the non-physical work environment on the level of work loyalty among Generation Z employees known to have low work loyalty. The non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique was used in this study, with 138 participants who met the research criteria. Two types of measurement instruments, namely the work loyalty scale and the non-physical work environment scale, were applied in this study. The results of the analysis using the non-parametric Spearman correlation test showed a significant influence between the non-physical work environment and work loyalty. The identified positive relationship indicates that improving the non-physical work environment can be an effective strategy to enhance the loyalty of Generation Z employees. This finding has important implications for organizations to pay attention to and enhance the non-physical work environment to strengthen employee loyalty

Abstract

Generation Z is the generation that's less engaged in the workplace. Transformational leadership and quality of work life are two of the other factors that can affect employee engagement. This research aims to find out the relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of work life simultaneously and partially towards employee engagement. Participants of this research are 60 employees of generation z at PT. Kalimantan Prima Persada. Simple random sampling was used to select employees with the criteria of Generation Z employees and permanent employees. The instrument for data collection used a scale of employee engagement with reliability 0.911, and then a scale of transformational leadership with reliability 0.953, and scale of quality of work life with reliability 0.842. This research using online questionnaires for data collection, and data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression. The result of correlation between variables is R 0.667. The results show that there is a relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of work life both simultaneously and partially towards employee engagement. Therefore, it would be useful for companies to increase their employee engagement.

Abstract

Abstract: Quality of Work-life (QWL) in an employee is an important aspect to which a company needs to pay much attention, moreover if the employee experiences a job-skill mismatch. This study aimed to test the effect of job involvement and perceived happiness simultaneously and partially on the quality of work-life in an employee who experiences a job-skill mismatch. The instruments used for collecting data were the QWL scale, job involvement scale, and perceived happiness scale. The subjects of this study were 64 employees. The method of data analysis was the multiple regression analysis. The result of this study showed that job involvement and perceived happiness simultaneously affected QWL (r=0,763; p=0,000). Partially job involvement also had an effect on QWL (r=0.64; p=0,000) and perceived happiness on QWL (r=0,261; p=0,039). Simultaneously, the contribution of job involvement and perceived happiness to the QWL of the employees with a job-skill mismatch was 56.9%. It means that the higher the rate of job involvement and perceived happiness, the higher the quality of work-life an employee with a job-skill mismatch has, and vice versa.
