Abstract

The December 2022 edition of the Indonesian health administration journal has been published. This time raised several topics about health system. Generally, the manuscripts submitted raise topics related to the issue of Covid-19. Other topics include access to health services, management programs, health insurance, and patient safety. Another topic of this edition also raises the issue of access to health services. Ainy (2022) The issue of Covid-19 is still a concern for researchers at this time. Covid-19 inspection services are still a necessity at this time. However, not all districts can prepare for this need. Imaniar (2022) reports that the availability of RT-PCR in Covid-19 tests is still limited at the district level. Since Covid-19, the use of online-based systems has increased. Murima reported (2022) that the use of telemedicine in health facilities during a pandemic greatly helped health service providers, but there were obstacles such as not being multidisciplinary and lack of knowledge in using technology.

Abstract

The study, titled "Analysis of the Implementation of the Covid-19 Vaccination Program for the Elderly in North Musi Rawas Regency," aims to determine the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program for the elderly in North Musi Rawas Regency.Techniques and tools for collecting data through in-depth interviews and observations, as well as using qualitative methods with case study designs, ensure that the data is presented in a complete description to describe a phenomenon observed in real-life contexts if the boundaries between phenomena and contexts do not appear clear and if multiple sources of evidence are needed. The conclusion in the study regarding the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination program for the elderly in North Musi Rawas Regency is that it is still experiencing obstacles and that it is difficult for the elderly to get the vaccine because the long queue results in the elderly being tired and the access to vaccination sites is far, so if there is a further vaccine, it is advisable to do a door-to-door. The factors that influence this implementation are resources and communication.

Abstract

Infection prevention and control is still a problem in health services in Indonesia. Cases such as nosocomial infections, the risk of contracting disease and health problems for medical and non-medical officers that occur as a result of not complying with work procedures, namely washing hands. This study aims to identify and describe the compliance of non-health workers in preventing infection through hand washing. The research method used is literature review, which is looking for articles using data sourced from the internet (google scholar and science direct) using keywords, compliance, hand washing, non-health workers, infection prevention with a time limit of 2019-2022. The search results obtained 8 articles that matched the inclusion criteria, 6 quantitative articles with descriptive studies and 2 articles using experiments which showed that more than half of non-health workers had complied with hand washing which was of course supported by knowledge, availability of facilities and continuous supervision. So this study recommends making a joint commitment to every human resource involved in health services as well as conducting continuous monitoring and providing infrastructure to improve implementation and compliance in washing the hands of non-medical officers in health services.

Abstract

Depression is the most common mental disorder among the elderly, affecting approximately 7% of the global elderly population (WHO, 2017). This study aims to analyze factors influencing symptoms of depression among the elderly in urban areas of Indonesia. Adopting a quantitative cross-sectional design, the researchers scrutinized secondary data available publicly from Indonesian Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018. The data were analyzed using logistic regression statistics. We found that there are 11.2% (n=3200) of respondents who experienced symptoms of depression from 28.570 elderly in Indonesia urban areas. The bivariate results showed that gender (95% CI 1.257-1.536), history of chronic diseases (95% CI 1.834-2.242), educational status (95% CI 3.033-5.141), employment status (95% CI 1.434-1.770), marriage status (95% CI 1.134-1.391), and physical activity (95% CI 1.255-1.565) significantly correlated with the symptoms of depression among elderly. Low educational status is the most dominant variable influencing symptoms of depression in urban areas of Indonesia. Education influences individual behavior, the higher the individual's education, the higher the level of knowledge through the ability to receive and rationalize information more easily. Our result might be used in developing the educational programs as a preventive and promotive effort by the government.

Abstract

Background: Currently the Covid-19 pandemic is still happening which has resulted in an increase in the number of deaths. The number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is more than 2.5 million with the death toll reaching 25,000. To prevent the transmission of Covid-19, the government has made a policy with a vaccination program. Methods: The research method used is narrative review, searching for articles using an internet database with the keywords COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia with a time limit of 2020 to 2021. The search results obtained 10 articles which were then analyzed using context, input, process and product (CIPP) on the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination. The obtained literatures were synthesized using the narrative method by grouping the extracted data that was similar to the measured results to answer the research objectives. Results : The results of the study indicate that the existence of a policy and the government's pick-up effort is expected to support the success of vaccination. However, the implementation of the covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia has not been optimal due to factors; lack of public participation due to doubts about the "halal" status of vaccines, doubts about vaccine safety and effectiveness and fear of vaccine side effects. Conclusion: the implementation of vaccination that is not optimal based on reporting and constraints needs to be monitored and evaluated continuously from the central level to the community both in terms of policy, human resource support, information dissemination so that improvements can be made immediately in order to achieve the success of the vaccination program. Keywords: covid-19 vaccination, policy, implementation, success, vaccination constraints

Abstract

AbstractCurrently, health problems in Indonesia are referred to as a double burden of disease because it is dominated by the development of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and on the other hand the incidence of infectious diseases that still occur. One of the strategic issues in the 2030 SDGs that must be a development priority in every country that requires cooperation in handling cross-sectors is NCDs, so a community-based NCDs control model is developed through Posbindu as a form of community participation as an effort to control risk factors independently and continuously. The role and function of Posbindu cadres are important as executors of NCDs risk factor control for the community. Therefore, to maximize the role of cadres in Posbindu, the Faculty of Public Health, University of Sriwijaya, empowers the Posbindu community through Posbindu cadres so that they can become self-reliant for the community to live healthily by increasing the capacity of Posbindu cadres. The community service team wanted to determine the effect of providing education and training to cadres on the knowledge and skills of Posbindu cadres in Bangun Jaya Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The method used in this service is the education and training of 15 health cadres. Measurement of knowledge is done by using a questionnaire (pretest and posttest). The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge and skills scores of cadres regarding Posbindu after education and intervention. However, there were also those with a fixed score. Continuous training is needed to improve cadres skills and optimize the community's active participation through Posbindu cadres. Keywords: Cadres, Posbindu, NCDs, Knowledge, Skills

Abstract

The problem of malnutrition is a major public health problem in various countries, so it is one of the causes of increasing child mortality rates. This is due to poor nutritional status, including undernutrition, wasting and stunting. Provide information related to stunting and wasting and the importance of food security. This research uses Systematic Review and PRISMA. Data was obtained from journals that had been collected and 15 journals were used in this research. Results: Factors that can influence stunting and wasting include; household food insecurity, socio-economic factors including family income, maternal education level, environmental factors (housing and water quality), demographic factors (family size and employment status), genetic and biological factors (low birth weight), psychosocial factors (stress and violence in the family), nutritional factors (lack of macro and micronutrients, unbalanced food consumption, and low levels of protein, Fe, and Zn adequacy), health factors (not getting antenatal care, not getting exclusive breastfeeding, and the incidence of diarrhea) factors biodiversity (food and agriculture). Conclusion: Stunting and wasting can reduce intelligence, creativity, productivity, and will affect the quality of human resources. There is a need for multisectoral strategies and policies, implementing guidelines and strategies that can increase household food security, including counseling positions for parents, training for mothers in breastfeeding and nutrition practices, as well as awareness campaigns in hygiene and sanitation practices. Empowerment and involvement of women (mothers) in household decision making as an effort to prevent stunting and malnutrition in children.
