Abstract

The issue of the environment has become a major concern globally. Environmental literacy plays a crucial role in empowering individuals to address current environmental challenges. To assess the level of environmental literacy among students, this research focused on evaluating the abilities of students at SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta, a school committed to the Adiwiyata program. The study employed a descriptive approach involving 62 eighth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through a series of interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis methods, assessing scores for each environmental literacy indicator. The research findings indicated that the majority of students demonstrated a moderate level of environmental literacy in cognitive indicators, reaching 48%. Meanwhile, the affective indicators showed that the majority of students were in the high category, at 56%. For behavioral indicators, the majority of students were in the moderate category, reaching 76%. The school continues to strive to improve students' environmental literacy as part of efforts to cultivate behaviors that reflect care and awareness for the environment. These actions aim to shape students with a strong and sustainable environmental culture.

Abstract

In today’s digital age, solid financial performance and strategic adaptation are becoming crucial to the survival of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The study aims to evaluate MSMEs financial performance and identify improvement strategies that can be applied in order to adapt to the challenges of the times. Through financial ratio analysis, including liquidity, solvency, profitability, and activity, we measure the operational efficiency of MSMEs and identify areas that need improvement. The method of research carried out is the study of literature by searching for references that correspond to the context of the research to be studied. Research results show that MSMEs that implement digital tools, such as social media, e-commerce, and online accounting systems, show significant improvements in financial performance compared to MSMEs that have not yet integrated digital technology. It shows that the presence of technology is a driving factor in strengthening market positions and increasing operational efficiency.

Abstract

An Investigation on the Implementation of the Learning Cycle 5E to Improve Student Activeness. This research aims to investigate the implementation of the learning Cycle 5E model in improving student activeness. The objects of this research are scientific works in the form of journal articles and research results. The research method employed is a literature review through analyzed journals. The technique used involves analyzing three pieces of literature on the Learning Cycle 5E to assess the impact of this model on student activeness in the learning process. The analysis results indicate that each phase of the Learning Cycle 5E model can improve student activeness during the learning process. Based on the three studies, from Cycle I to Cycle II, there is a noted increase in the average student activeness: Researcher 1 experienced a 3.35% increase, Researcher 2 saw an 8.17% increase, and Researcher 3 had a 15.84% increase. Future research should consider comparative studies of the Learning Cycle 5E model with other pedagogical approaches, longitudinal assessments of its long-term effects, and investigations into its application across diverse educational settings and technology integration.

Abstract

This activity to improve the ability to read the Qur'an at TPQ Al Azhar students is one of several activities that have been compiled by friends of the STAI Al Amin KKN group in Bakan Village by looking at the state of the level of understanding about reading the Qur'an which is mostly lacking so that on that basis friends of the STAI Al Amin KKN group are enthusiastic to realize it and are supported by the institution,  Of course, the hope and desire of a program like this for students or female students can add insight into understanding knowledge about good and correct procedures in reading the Qur'an, and gratitude and enthusiasm in teaching provide a little understanding, students increase understanding and there are changes both in letter recognition, letter makhorijul and reading law in the science of tajweed,  and can also help TPQ caregivers in educating / teaching students to be more like before.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' combinatorial thinking skills after using learning worksheets on enumeration rules. This research aims to provide solutions by applying learning materials to improve students' combinatorial thinking skills in solving math problems. The research method used is qualitative research. The research technique in this case is to use data triangulation. The purpose of triangulation is to increase the validity and reliability of research findings by confirming or complementing findings from various sources or perspectives. The results in this study are the diversity of the fulfillment of indicators in the ability to think combinatorics, including students with the S-1 category can fulfill all indicators of combinatorics thinking ability. Students in the S-2 category only fulfill 1 indicator of combinatorics thinking ability. Students in the S-3 category could not fulfill all the indicators of combinatorics thinking ability.

Abstract

Malaria remains a major public health concern in Indonesia, particularly due to its high mortality rate among children under five, accounting for approximately two-thirds of all cases. The disease is transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes, which carry the Plasmodium parasite. In 2019, malaria caused 409,000 deaths globally, with 229 million cases reported, particularly in remote areas with poor access to healthcare, commonly in low-income countries. This literature review highlighted the environmental risk factors contributing to malaria incidence, based on studies from 24 scientific journals using data from the Sinta and Scopus databases. The study identified key environmental factors, including physical, chemical, biological, and socio-cultural elements, with the most significant risk linked to vector breeding sites. Among the reviewed articles, 62.5% (15 out of 24) found a statistically significant association between the presence of mosquito breeding sites and malaria incidence. Additional risk factors included the use of mosquito nets, housing conditions (specifically wall density), and nighttime outdoor activities. Effective malaria control measures require addressing these environmental factors, as they play a crucial role in the disease’s transmission. Strategies to disrupt the transmission cycle include eliminating mosquito breeding sites, applying larvicides to stagnant water, cleaning vector resting areas, promoting the use of insecticide-treated nets, and implementing Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS). A community-based, integrated approach to environmental management is essential to reducing malaria transmission and controlling its spread in affected regions.

Abstract

The development of interesting learning media needs to be done to attract students' interest. Food loss and food waste are quite serious problems because the effects of food loss and food waste are very detrimental to humans. One of the learning media that can be developed as an educational effort related to the problem of food waste and food loss, namely pop-up books. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of pop-up books to train students to reduce food loss and food waste. The research design used research and design (R&D). The participants in this study were class VII in one of the Surabaya city junior high schools in the Even Semester 2021/2022. The instruments used in the study, namely: feasibility test instruments for media experts, media feasibility test instruments for material experts, food loss and food waste literacy questions, and response questionnaires. Data collection techniques, namely: written tests, observations and surveys with paper & pencil. Data analysis techniques for validity use a Likert scale by finding the average, effectiveness is analyzed using Normalized change, and practicality is analyzed using a response questionnaire by finding the percentage of each indicator.  The results of this study, material expert validators obtained a percentage of 90% and media expert validators obtained a percentage of 93%. The effectiveness of this media obtained a score of <c> = 0.67 with the interpretation of moderate improvement. The practicality of this media obtained a percentage of 93% with a very good interpretation. Pop-up book food loss and waste is a feasible media to be used in learning to train and reduce food loss and food waste.
