Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the ability to understand concepts in the matter of integers in terms of gender in class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Galang. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII B of SMP Negeri 2 Galang in terms of gender. Data were collected through written tests and interviews. Researchers triangulated time to test the credibility of the data. Based on the results of the written test and interview results, the results of this study showed that the subjects were male and female who had moderate ability. The results of this study (1) Subjects with moderate mathematical ability, on the indicators of classifying objects according to certain properties, in part a are able to classify quite well, in part b are less able to classify based on the properties of integers. In indicators of using, utilizing, and selecting certain procedures or operations, being able to use procedures well, on indicators of applying concepts or problem solving algorithms, not yet fully able to understand concepts. (2) Subjects with moderate mathematical ability on the indicator classify objects according to certain properties in part a that have not been able to classify well, in part b they are able to classify based on the properties of integers quite well. On indicators of using, utilizing, and selecting certain procedures or operations, not being able to use procedures properly, on indicators of applying concepts or problemsolving algorithms, not yet fully able to understand concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa di SMAN Model Terpadu Madani Palu dalam menyelesaikan masalah permutasi dan kombinasi. Data pada penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 orang yaitu siswa AF dan MF. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah permutasi dan kombinasi ada dua yaitu kesalahan konseptual dan kesalahan prosedural. Masing masing kesalahan mempunyai indikator kesalahan. Kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa AF subjek masih kesulitan dalam membedakan yang mana merupakan masalah kombinasi dan mana masalah permutasi, ini merupakan kesalahan konseptual, subjek keliru dalam melakukan operasi perkalian bilangan faktorial, ini disebabkan karena siswa kurang teliti dalam mengerjakan masalah merupakan kesalahan prosedural. Kemudian kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa MF yaitu siswa tidak menulis dengan lengkap apa yang diketahui karena sudah terbiasa dalam mengerjakan masalah permutasi dan kombinasi, tetapi jawaban hasil tes yang diberikan benar (kesalahan prosedural), siswa tidak menuliskan apa yang ditanyakan pada masalah dengan alasan agar cepat dalam menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Pada siswa MF tidak ditemukan kesalahan konseptual dalam menyelesaikan masalah permutasi dan kombinasi dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain a description of the three-dimensional geometry problem solving profile of class XII students of SMA Negeri 1 Ampana in terms of visual-spatial intelligence. This type of research is qualitative research. There were 2 subjects in this study, NA with a high level of visual-spatial intelligence and SA with a low level of visual-spatial intelligence. The results of the research show the following: (1) Problem-solving profile of the NA subject in: a) Understanding the problem, the subject redraws the exact beam in the problem, identifies and writes down all known and asked rib lengths b) Makes a problem-solving plan, subject has a clear strategy in finding the point on the diagonal line of the field by using the area of ​​a triangle formula, c) Carrying out the problem-solving plan, the subject implements the problem-solving plan that has been previously designed so as to obtain the distance from the point to the field diagonal line, d) Checking back, the subject sees - look back at the results of his work while occasionally calculating all the steps in the answer. (2) Problem-solving profile of the SA subject in: a) Understanding the problem, the subject identifies and writes down all the known and asked rib lengths in the problem, b)Making a problem-solving plan, the subject does not have a clear and wrong strategy to obtain a point on the diagonal line of the field, c) Carrying out the problem-solving plan, the subject cannot solve the given problem because when working on the problem the subject uses the wrong formula, d) Re-checking, the subject did not re-check the answers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the mistakes made by students in solving straight line equation problems. this type of research is qualitative research. The research subjects were 3 students taken from 23 class VIII students of MTs DDI Singga. The results of this study were reviewed based on Kostolan errors showing that the mistakes made by students in solving problems were conceptual errors and procedural errors. (1) Conceptual errors for students with high abilities, namely: not writing down the formula, for students with moderate abilities, namely: not writing down the formula, and making mistakes in determining the formula, and students with low abilities, namely: making mistakes in determining the formula, and not writing down the formula. (2) and for procedural errors of students with high abilities, namely: inability to manipulate steps in answering a problem, and calculation operation errors, for students with moderate abilities, namely: inability to map the steps in answering a problem, and calculation operation errors, and for students with low abilities, namely: inability to map the steps in answering a problem, and calculation operation errors.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain a description of the critical thinking profile of seventh-grade students in solving social arithmetic story problems at SMP Negeri 8 Palu. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The subjects of this study where three of class VII A students of SMP Negeri 8 Palu, who each have high, mederate and low mathematical abilities. Subjects were selected based on the consideration that the selected students were communicative students. Data collection techniques in research using critical thinking skills question and interview. Based on the results of research, data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the critical thinking profile of class VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Palu in solving problems story on the materials of social arithmetic shape theory that is, the critical thinking profile of students with high mathematical abilities (MS) includes, providing simple explanation, building basic skills, the ability to solve problems and conclude, the critical thinking profile of students with moderate mathematical abilities (ID) includes, providing simple explanations, the ability to solve problems and conclusions and the critical thinking profile of students with low mathematical abilities (AI) only to provide explanations simple.

Abstract

This research is aimed to obtain error description by students on math midterm at SMP Bala Keselamatan Balamoa based on Newman. This research is descriptive research which used qualitative approach. The data was collected using documentation and interview. The result shows that: (1) the kind of numerical pattern material is a mistake in comprehension error (comprehension error), transformation error (transformation error), process skill error (process skill error), and encoding error (encoding error). (2) kind of errors in kartesius coordinate is comprehension error (comprehension error), transformation error (transformation error), and encoding error (encoding error). (3) error in relation and function material is comprehension error (comprehension error), transformation error (transformation error), and encoding error (encoding error).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the guided discovery learning model with the Scaffolding technique in improving the students' abilities of class X MIA 4 MAN 1 Palu in the function material. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the design uses the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, with its stages namely planning, action and observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were 17 students of class X MIA 4 MAN 1 Palu who were registered in the 2019/2020 school year and three students were selected as informants. This research was conducted in two cycles. Based on the results of the final action test, the percentage of students 'classical learning completeness in the first cycle was 73.33% and the percentage of students' classical learning completeness in the second cycle was 93.75%, while the results of teacher and student observations in the first cycle were in the good category and at cycle II is in the very good category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that learning by applying the guided discovery learning model can improve the ability of class X MAN 1 Palu students on the function material by following the stages (1) stimulation: providing an explanation to students about the inverse function material contained in the LKPD. (2) problem formulation: directing students to find their own inverse function material by asking students to observe and identify the problems contained in the LKPD and make hypotheses. (3) data collection: students are asked to find references related to the inverse function material, then write down the information contained in the given problem carefully. (4) data processing: students process the data that has been collected by discussing the process used to find problems in the LKPD. (5) verification: students are asked to formulate conclusions and then match them with the formulation of the problem given whether the formulation of the conclusions made answers the given problem and whether the results obtained are in accordance with the hypotheses made have been proven or not. and (6) generalization: involving students in class discussions and concluding the material that has been studied.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the guided discovery learning model in improving the learning outcomes of class VII D students of SMP Negeri 9 Palu on triangle material.Based on the results of the final action test, the percentage of students 'classical learning completeness in cycle I was 64.28% and the percentage of students' classical learning completeness in cycle II was 92.59%, while the results of teacher and student observations in cycle I were in the good category and at cycle II is in the very good category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that learning by applying the guided discovery learning model can improve the learning outcomes of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Palu in triangular material by following the steps (1) stimulation: giving students an explanation of the triangular material contained in LKPD. (2) problem formulation: directing students to find their own triangle material by asking students to observe and identify the problems contained in the LKPD and make hypotheses. (3) data collection: students are asked to look for references related to triangular material, then write down the information contained in the given problem carefully. (4) data processing: after data collection, further data processing is required, students process the data that has been collected by discussing the process used to find problems in the LKPD. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik penalaran siswa SMP dalam memecahkan masalah geometri ditinjau dari perbedaan gender dan tingkat kemampuan matematika. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, maka prosedur penelitian ini sebagai berikut: (1) tahap pertama dengan kegiatan antara lain mengkaji teori-teori tentang penalaran, masalah dan pemecahan masalah, materi geometri SMP dan gender; menentukan lokasi penelitian; merancang dan menvalidasi instrumen penelitian; (2) tahap ke dua dengan kegiatan yakni menentukan subjek penelitian, melaksanakan wawancara berbasis tugas, melakukan validasi data dan menganalisis karakteristik penalaran subjek. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari enam siswa SMP kelas VIII dan dikelompokan dalam tiga kelompok berdasarkan kemampuan matematika yaitu kelompok subjek berkemampuan tinggi, kelompok subjek berkemampuan sedang dan kelompok subjek berkemampuan rendah. Tiap kelompok terdiri dari dua subjek yakni seorang subjek laki-laki dan seorang subjek perempuan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Palu provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada umumnya subjek laki-laki memiliki kemampuan penalaran lebih baik dibandingkan subjek perempuan. Subjek laki-laki lebih mampu mengenal dan memahami konsep-konsep geometri yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah yang diberikan, dibandingkan subjek perempuan. Subjek laki-laki lebih kritis dan lebih kreatif dalam membangun ide-ide untuk memecahkan masalah yang diberikan dibandingkan subjek perempuan. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang penerapan pendekatan scientific yang dapat membangun pemahaman siswa pada konsep luas daerah persegi panjang dan persegi di kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Banawa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Desain penelitian mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yakni perencanaan, tindakan dan observasi, serta refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan scientific dapat membangun pemahaman siswa tentang konsep luas daerah persegi panjang dan persegi di kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Banawa mengikuti langkah-langkah yaitu (1) mengamati, siswa mengamati gambar, peristiwa maupun benda sekitar yang membentuk model bangun datar persegi panjang dan persegi. (2) menanya, peneliti dan siswa melakukan tanya jawab terkait hal yang diamati. (3) menalar, siswa mengolah data yang diperoleh dari kegiatan menanya untuk memperoleh kesimpulan. (4) mencoba, siswa mengerjakan LKS secara berkelompok dan mengerjakan tes individu. (5) mengkomunikasikan, siswa bersama kelompoknya mempresentasikan hasil kerja kelompoknya di depan kelas. Kata Kunci : Pendekatan scientific, Membangun Pemahaman, Konsep Luas Daerah Persegi Panjang dan Persegi.
