Abstract

Sprain ankle area injuries to the joints, with ligament tears resulting from sudden excessive stress or repeated excessive use of the joints. In general, sprain due to falls, slips, or pressure on the body that causes bones in the joints to shift, causing impaired ankle stability. Ankle sprain occurs due to muscle weakness and ligament weakness by strengthening muscle training and increasing LGS using exercise therapy, and can help and improve muscle weakness caused by complex lateral ligament damage. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the effectiveness and exercise therapy in ankle sprain patients. In the case study, patients were found to have pain while standing on one foot on their right foot, and the patient felt uncomfortable when leaning on running because of pain that disturbed his balance. Physiotherapy interventions for patients were ultrasound and exercise therapy is given in stages over 3 days. After doing a gradual exercise program for 3 days. To obtain optimal therapeutic results, good collaboration between physiotherapy and sufferers is needed so that maximum results can be obtained. Independent exercise that is done regularly by the patient and is effective therapy to increase muscle strength and increase muscle flexibility.

Abstract

Meniscus tear is one of the most common knee injuries treated. The meniscus is essential for normal knee function, including load transmission, joint stability, lubrication, and nutrition of the articular cartilage. Loss of normal meniscus function leads to increased knee contact pressure and articular cartilage degeneration over time. Meniscus repair (meniscus repair) is one type of surgery performed. When the meniscus has to be operated on by sewing the torn meniscus. Physiotherapy plays an important role in meniscus repair with isometric, isokinetic exercises that aim to strengthen the grub of weak muscles. Objektive: improve to the next phase and increase functional activity to be able to return to the sports field. Methods: subjects were given isometric and isokinetic strengthening exercises for 4 weeks which were performed 3x/week. Results: evaluation was carried out using Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Range Of Motion (ROM) measurement instruments, Manual Muscle Testing, and Anthropometry. Conclusion: there was an increase in ROM, MMT, and Anthropometry after being given therapy exercise for 4 weeks.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the addition of thoracic mobilization to McKenzie exercise interventions is better than McKenzie exercise against disability and waist mobility in dichogenic low back pain. This study was conducted on patients diagnosed with lumbar disogenic low back pain at the Cengkareng Regional General Hospital. Method: This study is quasi-experimental and uses purposive sampling techniques. It consists of 16 samples divided into two groups. The treatment group was given the addition of thoracic mobilization to the McKenzie exercise and the control group was given the addition of thoracic mobilization to the McKenzie exercise and the control group was given the McKenzie exercise only. Results: Shapiro Wilk-test normality test with p-value>α (0.05), Levene's homogeneity test with p-value> α (0.05). Independent t-test results showed significant differences in effects in both groups, namely a p=0.005 value for the disability scale and a p=0.019 value for the mobility scale (p<α(0.05)). Conclusion: The combination of thoracic mobilization and McKenzie exercise can lower disability and improve waist flexion mobility. McKenzie exercise can lower disability and improve waist flexion mobility. The addition of thoracic mobilization to McKenzie exercise is better at reducing disability and improving waist mobility than McKenzie exercise alone.
