Abstract

This paper presents an optimized stacking-based hybrid machine learning approach for predicting early-stage diabetes mellitus (DM) using the PIMA Indian diabetes (PID) dataset and early-stage diabetes risk prediction (ESDRP) dataset. The methodology involves handling missing values through mean imputation, balancing the dataset using the synthetic minority over-sampling technique (SMOTE), normalizing features, and employing a stratified train-test split. Logistic regression (LR), naïve Bayes (NB), AdaBoost with support vector machines (AdaBoost+SVM), artificial neural network (ANN), and k-nearest neighbors (k-NN) are used as base learners (level 0), while random forest (RF) meta-classifier serves as the level 1 model to combine their predictions. The proposed model achieves impressive accuracy rates of 99.7222% for the ESDRP dataset and 94.2085% for the PID dataset, surpassing existing literature by absolute differences ranging from 10.2085% to 16.7222%. The stacking-based hybrid model offers advantages for early-stage DM prediction by leveraging multiple base learners and a meta-classifier. SMOTE addresses class imbalance, while feature normalization ensures fair treatment of features during training. The findings suggest that the proposed approach holds promise for early-stage DM prediction, enabling timely interventions and preventive measures.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the extent of the sovereignty possessed by the countries and regions formed by the Netherlands around 1947-1948, by taking the example of the Pasundan State and the Special Region of West Kalimantan (DIKB). The results of the study is 1) The Pasundan State was founded by Kertalegawa on May 4, 1947, with the support of van Mook. Kertalegawa's efforts ran aground because of the lack of support from Sundanese leaders. The Dutch again tried to establish Pasundan after West Java has controlled thanks to the Renville Agreement. This effort was successful on February 26, 1948, with the Mayor, namely R.A.A Wiranatakusumah, and Prime Minister Adil Puradiredja. The two figures were actually pro-republican, elected based on a session of the Pasundan State Parliament. 2) DIKB was formed on May 12, 1947, which was attended by van Mook, chaired by Sultan Hamid II with the assistance of five members of the Daily Governing Body and a Secretary who was held by Dutch officials. Meanwhile, the West Kalimantan Council (DKB) as parliament is also chaired by Dutch officials. The DKB consists of 40 representatives of ethnic/customary figures and self-government leaders such as the Sultan and Panembahan. 3) The State of Pasundan and DIKB are constituents of the Provisional Federal Government of the Netherlands by adopting a federal system. There was a dualism of government in which the Dutch kept their officials and employees. The State and Regions do not have authority and independence in making policies because they are not implemented 100 percent by the Indonesian people. Belanda kembali mencoba mendirikan Pasundan setelah Jawa Barat dikuasai berkat Perjanjian Renville. Usaha ini berhasil pada 26 Februari 1948 dengan Wali Negaranya yakni R.A.A Wiranatakusumah, dan Perdana Menteri  Adil Puradiredja. Kedua tokoh sebenarnya pro-republik, terpilih berdasarkan sidang Parlemen Negara Pasundan.

Abstract

This research was conducted on the basis of the lack of research that specifically reveals the process of Islamization of the Tellumpoccoe alliance based on historical facts available in the field. This study aims to reveal the process of Islamization of three major regions which include Bone, Soppeng, and Wajo. This study used a historical research method consisting of heuristics/collection of historical sources, external and internal criticism of historical sources, interpretation, and historiography/or historical writing. The results demonstrate that the beginning of the arrival of Islam in South Sulawesi was received openly by two major kingdoms namely Luwu in 1602 and Gowa in 1605. After the Kingdom of Gowa embraced Islam, the existence of an Ulu agreement between the Bugis-Makassar kings caused the Kingdom of Gowa to try spreading the religion of Islam peacefully but was rejected because of the suspicion of political motives to control other kingdoms. In response to this matter, a Telumpoccoe alliance was established by three kingdoms namely Bone, Soppeng, and Wajo to stem the invasion effort as well as the process of Islamization carried out by the Kingdom of Gowa. However, such great power possessed by the Kingdom of Gowa caused the failure of this alliance to maintain its existence. In the end, each kingdom that was incorporated into the alliance embraced Islam, namely Soppeng in 1609, Wajo in 1610, and Bone in 1611.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dasar masih kurangnya penelitian yang mengungkapkan secara spesifik terkait proses islamisasi aliansi Tellumpoccoe berdasarkan fakta-fakta historis yang tersedia di lapangan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation model of instilling Islamic characters at SMP-SMA Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Boarding School Purwokerto. This study employs a qualitative research design, utilizing observation, interviews, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The collected data are then analyzed to understand the character education model at Al-Irsyad. The research findings indicate that the formation of Islamic characters at SMP-SMA Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Boarding School Purwokerto is conducted through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects, which include Akhlaq (ethics), Aqidah (creed), Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and Tarikh Islam (Islamic history) as the learning materials. The Akhlaq lesson aims to promote honesty, integrity, and noble character for the students while eliminating feelings of envy. Meanwhile, the specific goal of Islamic character formation is instilled through Aqidah lesson. The Aqidah curriculum directs students to avoid practices in Islam that are considered deviant from monotheism, such as acts of shirk (polytheism), Tawassul (seeking intercession), and Tabarruk (seeking blessings). Some implications of this understanding result in Al-Irsyad not allowing the students to "salute the red-and-white flag" or "observe a moment of silence" during flag ceremonies. Additionally, the Al-Irsyad students are not permitted to sing the national song "Padamu Negeri," as this song negates Allah's presence. Such practices typically occur due to a textual interpretation and understanding of Islamic sources, the Qur'an, and Hadith.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of virtual reality media on student learning outcomes seen from the value of the effect size of published studies. This study used the meta-analysis method, with a group contrast design from experimental research and quasi-experiments that had experimental groups and control groups. The database used is the SCOPUS database. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method determines articles. Data collection is carried out by collecting article metadata with specific keywords that have been determined. The article metadata obtained is then sorted based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The next step is to download a PDF of the article that matches the criteria. The downloaded PDF is tabulated to obtain statistical data in effect size calculations. Calculation of the effect size of each study and data analysis to prove research hypotheses using the R application version 4.2.0 and assisted by the RStudio. The results showed a Q value of 163.54 with a p-value of 0.0001 < α (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is heterogeneity from the observed data regarding the effectiveness of virtual reality media research on learning outcomes. An I2 value of 90.8% indicates substantial heterogeneity categories. For this reason, a random effect size model is used; The results showed a random effect size of 0.6285 with a p-value of 0.0001 < α (0.05). A value of 0.6285 indicates the influence is in the medium category; The results showed that there were differences in the effectiveness of the given continental differences (Q value = 8.24 and p-value 0.02 > α (0.05)). There was no significant difference in the effectiveness of virtual reality media on learning outcomes in terms of education level (Q = 7.39 and p-value 0.02 < α (0.05)); The results showed that the distribution of data showed symmetric, indicating that none of the studies were distorted or article bias occurred.
