Abstract

Abstract: Data daily test results of students of class VII SMPIT Future Islamic School Pekanbaru provide information that the percentage of learners who reach the criteria masses of minimum is still low. This Study aims to improve the learning process and the student’s outcomes of mathematic learning by applying problem based learning model. This classroom action research with two cycles was conducted in class VII SMPIT Future Islamic School Pekanbaru in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018 to 20 students. The required data are qualitative and quantitative data. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments (syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets) and instruments for collecting data (cbservation sheets and outcomes of mathematic learning tests). Qualitative data were collected by observation technique and analyzed by descriptive narrative analysis. Quantitative data were collected by test technique and analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis. Based on the analysis of the observation sheets showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle I. The percentage of learners who achieved the minimum mastery criteria is increase. Frequency of learners who achieve the minimum completeness criteria increasingly. The average mathematics learning outcomes of the students showed an increase. This study concludes is implementation of problem based learning improved the learning process and the student’s outcomes of mathematic learning at class VII SMPIT Future Islamic School Pekanbaru in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018.Key Words: problem based learning, outcomes of mathematic learning, learning process

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to develop mathematics learning device for junior high school that are Syllabus, Lesson Plan (LP) and Students Worksheet (SW) curriculum 2013 on subject statistics and probability by used problem based learning model. This research use development model by Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono (2008). Development is done through the following steps: (1) potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) design products: (4) validation; (5) revision of design; (6) small group trial; (7) revision of product; (8) large group trial; and (9) revision. At the stage of potentials and problems, the researchers conducted potentials and problems analysis. Then, researcher collect the necessary materials to design learning device. Learning device that had been developed then validated by three validators and revised based on the input from validators. The valid learning device then tested in the small group trial with subjects are eight students of class VII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru and revised based on input from the students. Then, tested in the large group trial with subjects are 39 students of class VII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru and revised based on input from the students. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the mathematics learning device for junior high school curriculum 2013 on subject statistics and probability by using problem based learning model are valid with value for the Syllabus is 3.39, value for the LP-1 is 3.42, value for the LP-2 is 3.41, value for the LP-3 is 3.41, value for the LP-4 is 3.40, value for the LP-5 is 3.40, value for the SW-1 is 3.38, value for the SW-2 is 3.32, value for the SW-3 is 3.32, value for the SW-4 is 3.32, value for SW-5 is 3.32, and is practical to use by students of junior high school.Key Words:Mathematics Learning Device for Junior High School, Curriculum 2013, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning, Statistics and Probability

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics achievement with applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is student of class VIIE SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru in academic years 2018/2019, which amounted to 39 students, consist of 22 boys and 17 girls Aritmetika Sosial form material. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instrument of data collection in this research consist of observation sheet and assessment sheet. Data collection techniques in this study consisted of observation techniques and test results of mathematics learning techniques. Data obtained from the observation sheet is qualitative data and analyzed by descriptive quantitative analysis technique. Data obtained from the learning result test were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis technique. The result of data analysis show teacher’s and student’s activity have been done very well in cycle II and weakness/deficiency that happened less from cycle I to cycle II. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning.The results of this research showed the number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) for knowledge increase from the basic score (28,21%) to (35,89%) at the first test and to (74,36%) at the second test. For the skills, the score increase from (28,21%) at the first test, to (69,23%) at the second test. The results of this research showed that application of Problem Based Learning can improve the learning process and increase mathematics outcomes for students VIIE SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru in 2018/2019 academic year at Aritmetika Sosial form material.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the percentage of students who reached the KKM was 31%, namely 9 people out of 29 students, it was seen that 69% of students in Class VIIF of SMP 10 Tapung were under the KKM. The KKM set by the school for comparison material is 70. Based on these data, it can be said that the learning outcomes of Class VIIF students in Tapung 10 Middle School on the comparison material are still low. This study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VIIF students of 10 Tapung Junior High School in school year 2018/2019 through the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model. The research subjects were VIIF students of 10 Tapung Junior High School in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 21 people. Data collection instruments in this study are syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheets, and teacher and student activity observation sheets, as well as daily test questions. The results of this study indicate that the average student learning outcomes increased from the basic score of 41.8 to the first cycle to 70.1 with an increase in percentage of 20.85%, then at the base level 41.8 to the second cycle 83.00 with an increase of 29.35%. While the average activity of teachers in the first cycle was 77.78 (moderate) and increased in the second cycle to 96.97 (Very Good) or increased by 37.5. Besides the activity of students with an average in the first cycle is 71.8 (Moderate) and increases in the second cycle to 97.4 (Very Good) or an increase of 35.42. Based on these results it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students have increased. Teacher activities and student activities at each meeting also increased. This proves that the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VIIF of Tapung 10 Junior High School.Key Words: Students Math Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model Type STAD

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is low of mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII4 of 22 Junior High School Pekanbaru in second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year. Subject of this research are 38 students, consist of 19 male and 19 female student with heterogenous level of academic capabilities. The type of this research is the Classroom Action Research that has purpose to improve the learning proses and to increase student’s mathematic learning outcomes by applied the cooperative learning with Talking Stick Type. This research consists of two cycles that each cycle composed of 4 stages, such as planning, implementation, observation and reflection. At every end of a cycle, math achievement test will be held. The research instrument consists of learning devices that involve Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Worksheet, and instrument data collector that involve the observation sheet and math achievement test. Observation sheets is analyzed by narrative descriptive analysis and math achievement test analyzed by statistic descriptive analysis. The result of the research showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily test II. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic scor, daily test I and daily test II are respectively 18 person (47,36%), 23 person (60,52%) and 30 person (78,94%). Results of this research indicates that application of Cooperative Learning with Talking Stick Type can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the students of class VIII4 of 22 Junior High School Pekanbaru in second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year at Basic Competencies 5.3 Calculates the surface area and volume of the Beam, Cube, Prism and Pyramid.Key Words: Cooperative Learning, Talking Stick Type, Learning Process, Student Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on study results of mathematics subject fromclass VIIIA SMP 18 Pekanbaru which still under KKM assigned by school that is 75. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning process and improve achievement of learning mathematic by implementation of cooperative learning model type STAD with CTL approach. This research is a class action research of two cycle. Subject researchers were the students in the class VIIIA of SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru that consist of 20 boys and 20 girls at second semester of academic year 2015/2016. From the results of annalysis found that the learning process improvements of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematic from the basic score with percentage 45% to 63% on the first test and 73% on second test. Based on the result of this research could be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model type STAD with CTL approachcan improve the learning process and improve the achievement of learning mathematic in class VIIIA of SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru in second semester academic years 2015/2016.

Abstract

AbstractThe research was classroom action research. This research aims to improve learning process and outcomes students by implementing cooperative learning type Two Stay Two Stray. The subject of the research is students of class VIIIG of SMPN18 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2012/2013. There are 40 students in the class, consisting 17 girls and 23 boys. Abstract

Abstract : The background of this research is the low ability of students' problem solving of mathematics which causes the low result of the mathematics students learning. This research used experiment and use design non-equivalent control group design. Population in this research is ll of the first grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. Sample of this research consists of two classes, there are class VII6 as the class experiment and VII5 as the class control. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of applying realistic mathematics eduacation approach to students' ability in mathematics problem solving in KD 3.4 Explain and state the sets, subsets, universe sets, empty sets, complement of sets and perfom binary operation on set using contextual problem and KD 4.4 Complete contextual problems related to the sets, subset, the universe sets, the empty sets, the complement of the sets, and the binary operations in the set. The research instrument used is the test of early mathematics ability obtained from the daily test in previous KD and test of mathematics problem solving (posttest). The result of the early mathematics ability test is used to determination the class sample. The result of the posttest were analyzed using the parametric statistical test of difference of two averages and the magnitude of influence calculated using Cohen's formula. The results of this reseach show that the applying realistics mathematics eduation approach give positive influence to students' ability in mathematics problem solving. The influence of realistics mathematics education approach has an impact of 76% on the problem solving ability of firat grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru and included in the medium category.Key Word : Realistics Mathematics Education, Ability in Math problem solving

Abstract

Abstract : The 2013 curriculum is a curriculum that directs students to be actively in the learning process. This research is based on the limited reference of teachers to develop learning devices that are corresponding with the 2013 Curriculum. This research aims to produce learning devices in the form of Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), and Student Worksheets (LKPD) with the Discovery Learning model on the flat side space subject 8th grade student of Junior High School that meet valid and practical requirements. The development model in this research is 4-D with the steps are Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The learning device products that have been made are validated by three validators. The average analysis result of the Syllabus validation data is 3.56 in the very valid category which means that the Syllabus is feasible to use and the average value for the RPP is 3.59 and LKPD is 3.64 in the very valid category which means that the RPP and LKPD are worth testing. Valid learning devices have been tested on small groups and large groups. The average results of the analysis of small group trial data is 3.42 and large group trial data is 3.30 which shows a very practical category. The average results of the analysis of observational data on the implementation of learning corresponding to the lesson plan is 2.95, including a very practical category which means that the lesson plan and worksheet are feasible to be used in schools.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Devices, 2013 Curriculum, Discovery Learning, Scientific.
