Abstract

Independent learning ability is a person's ability to learn and develop knowledge, skills and understanding independently. Independent learning abilities involve cognitive abilities, strategies, and attitudes that enable a person to take initiative in their own learning process. The ability to learn independently also has an impact on the 21st century skills that students must have, these skills include creative thinking, critical thinking and problem solving, communicating and collaborating. On the other hand, in class it is often found that Electronics Engineering students are still weak in their independent learning abilities. The role of the teacher is still dominant and is the only source of learning for students in solving problems. The main cause is thought to be that learning media is less effective in increasing independent learning so that students are too dependent on teachers. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of the Proteus application on the independent learning abilities of Electronics Engineering students. The research method used is a narrative literature review. A total of 20 articles from international journals were used as research samples. Research findings show that the Proteus application has an influence in improving the independent learning abilities of Industrial Electronics Engineering students. This is supported by the data contained in each research sample. Implementing the Proteus application can also be an alternative in improving students' 21st century abilities. However, this research only examines one type of media. Recommendations for further research can be carried out by comparing the effectiveness of the Proteus application with other applications used in learning Industrial Electronics Engineering.

Abstract

Abstract: Digital transformation demands the integration of information and communication technology tools in education. This condition is supported by the dominance of current students who are digital native generation. Although the use of technology is not new in higher education, the fact that lecturers are digital immigrants makes it difficult to integrate ICT into the lecture process, while one of the main responsibilities of higher education institutions is to facilitate students with quality learning and competent lecturers to prepare their future. This study aims to explore the level of digital competence of lecturers in higher education, the relationship, factors and efforts to improve it. The method used is a literature review with a narrative approach where the synthesised literature is international journal articles published in the 2020-2024 timeframe. The results showed 1) Digital competence is involved in ICT-integrated lectures from planning to evaluation of learning and reflective practice. 2) Lecturers with high digital competence can evaluate the quality of learning and influence student interest. 3) Age, gender, adaptability, type of institution, domicile location are significant factors of lecturers' digital competence, 4) Efforts that can be made to improve digital competence are: training, providing resource materials, reflective practice, long-term professional support, and incorporating digital competency lectures into prospective lecturer education programmes.Abstrak: Transformasi digital menuntut integrasi perangkat teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) dalam pendidikan. Abstract

This study examines the effect of using Augmented Reality (AR) on improving students' higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS) in the Solar System material at a high school in Surabaya. HOTS includes critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills essential in 21st-century learning. The study uses a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Tenth-grade students were selected through purposive sampling and were given multiple-choice tests before and after the AR-based learning intervention to measure their improvement in HOTS. The results show a significant increase in students' HOTS, with an N-gain score of 0.58, which falls into the moderate category. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, indicating that AR effectively enhances students' ability to analyze, solve problems, and express their thoughts more clearly and systematically. These findings imply that the application of AR in learning can support an outcome-based education approach. Integrating AR into the curriculum is expected to improve the quality of learning, support the achievement of educational goals, and develop students' critical thinking skills for their future.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the cognitive abilities of 4–5-year-old children in Group A of TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Mamboro using number card media. A two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) design (Kemmis & McTaggart) was employed (Rahman et al., 2017). Ten preschoolers (2024/2025 academic year) participated. Data were collected via classroom observations, interviews, and assignments, then analyzed descriptively by calculating percentage improvements. The results showed significant increases in cognitive performance from the pre-intervention stage to Cycle II. For example, the proportion of children correctly observing and naming numbers rose from 40.0% (pre-test) to 80.0% (Cycle II), and those recognizing number symbols improved from 36.7% to 80.0% (Cycle II). On average, cognitive skill indicators increased by about 40% between cycles. It can be conclude that using number card media effectively enhanced the children’s mental abilities.

Abstract

The alpha therapy modeling was performed for the treatment of glioblastoma brain cancer using MCNP6 software. The simulation used a head and neck phantom geometry, with a spherical shape of the radiation direction of the cancer cells with a radius of one cm divided into 27 targets. One radiation source is directed to each target center of the cancer cells with five energy variations, namely (430, 425, 415, 410, and 400) MeV. The simulation results are in the form of a distribution of absorbed doses in all targets and healthy cells around them. The simulation results show an average dose distribution of (1.2902 ± 0.0024) 10-11 Gy/alpha with an isodose level of 69.75%. The healthy organ that receives the largest dose and secondary particle distribution after cancer cells is the brain, with an accumulative dose of (1.7446 ± 0.0033) 10-15 Gy/alpha. The dose distribution on cancer cells shows that the irradiation time to kill glioblastoma cancer cells is (1456±0.14) seconds with an alpha current of 1 nA.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers often struggle with integrating 3D-based instructional media due to limited digital skills, hindering efforts to enhance student motivation through innovative learning tools. While 3D media like Assemblr EDU enhances student engagement, prior research has largely ignored the need for teacher training in utilizing such media effectively. This study evaluated the impact of a structured training program on teachers' competencies in developing 3D instructional media, with the ASSURE model serving as a guide for teachers to select and create appropriate media during the training. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data from 40 elementary teachers were gathered through observations, interviews, and feedback forms. Findings showed significant improvements in digital skills, with 75% completing 3D media projects and over 50% ready to implement them in classrooms. This training effectively bridged digital gaps and fostered pedagogical innovation, underscoring the importance of structured professional development for transforming learning practices and motivating students. Advanced training and continuous support are recommended for sustained technology integration.
