Abstract

Water is essential to human health and it effect all facets of life. It is pertained to a group of residents in Parit Sungai Raya Dalam neighborhood who use peat water as an alternative of clean water. Peat water contains both iron (Fe) and high colour intensity so that it is not suitable for daily activities. It is recognized that peat water may cause some negative effect for health. Based on the background before hand, the purpose of this research was to find out the effectiveness of the peat water treatment installation in Parit Sungai Raya Dalam in reducing the iron concentration (Fe) and its colour. There were some processes applied in this procedure namely, neutralization process, coagulation, sedimentation, filtration and ultrafiltration.  In line with the purpose, this research was conducted by employing a pre experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design with control. The data gathered were analyzed by using statistical T-test. Based on the laboratory test results,it was found that there was a decreasing iron value before treatment as in 5,60 mg/l to 0,13 mg/l when the water concentrated at low tide with its effectiveness decline 97,6%. A decreasing iron value was 6,29 mg/l to 0,23 mg/l when the water concentrate at high tide. Its effectiveness decline was 96,1%. The colour before treatment at low tide as was 1202,31 PtCO to 21,14 PtCO with 98,1% effectiveness decline, and the colour before treatment at high tide was 1338,38 PtCO to 22,25 PtCO with 98,2% effectiveness decline. The findings showed that the result of the peat water treatment installation can produce a feasible clean water based on the quality standars of the regulation of the health Minister of the Republic of Indonesia No.416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990 about requirements and Monitoring of Water Quality where the quality standards  for iron concentration (Fe) should not exceed 0,2 mg/l and the maximum colour is 50 PtCO. As a result,it is recommended that the society can use peat water with water purification material (PAC) and alum water treatment for feasible clean water.Keywords : Peat water, Filtration,Iron (Fe), Colour Intensity and Ultrafiltration.

Abstract

Lingkungan dapat menjadi masalah krusial terhadap pembangunan kota berkelanjutan, seperti pembungan sampah yang tidak pada tempatnya yang menyebabkan tercemarnya pemukiman. Kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya membuang sampah pada tempatnya berkurang dan menyebabkan pemukian dan air di sepanjang aliran sungai menjadi tercemar yang membuat kualitas hidup masyarakat di daerah sungai pangambangan itu rendah akibat kurangnya kesadaran tentang penting nyan kebersihan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriftif dan survey langsung ke lokasi. Alternatif yang dapat di terapkan adalah menjadikan sungai tersebut sebagai wisata edukasi. Pemerintah diharapkan bisa membantu memperbaiki bangunan-bangunan rumah warga disekitar sungai pengambangan dan yang terutama adalah pembersihan sungai untuk dapat menarik minat wisatawan. Memperindah lingkungan sungai pengambangan seperti pembersihan sungai, peremajaan bangunan warga, membuka ruang terbuka hijau serta melengkapi fasilitas yang ada seperti tempat sampah, kursi untuk bersantai, toilet umum dll.

Abstract

AbstractOne of the industries that use hazardous and toxic (B3) on the production process is leather tannery industry, with a compound chromium (Cr). Chromium in the compound, including heavy metals that have a known toxicity of high power. Alkali compound is Ca(OH)2, NaOH,and NaHCO3 the chemicals that can be used for processing liquid waste leather tannery industry that contains chromium, which works to raise the pH and precipitate chromium solution so produced chrome hidroksida in the form of chromium (Cr(OH)3). Results of research it was found that the pH optimum for alkali compound at each pH condition 8, the separation efficiency of 99.28% chromium compound using alkali Ca (OH) 2 and NaOH, while the use of 98.50% NaHCO3. Alkali compound which most effective review of technical aspects to a decrease in the concentration of chromium in leather tannery wastewater is NaOH, because with a small dose is able to separate the chromium in the wastewater with a high efficiency (99.28%), while the most economical and is recommended for applications is in the Ca(OH)2.  Key words : Ca(OH)2, Cr2O3, separation efficiency, hidroksida chromium (Cr(OH)3),  NaHCO3, NaOH,  pH optimum, alkali compound.

Abstract

Abstrak. Hubungan Kualitas Bakteriologis Air Sumur Gali (SGL) dengan Kejadian Diare pada Anak Balita di Desa Seluas Kecamatan Seluas Kabupaten Bengkayang tahun 2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kualitas bakteriologis air sumur gali (SGL) dengan kejadian diare pada anak balita di Desa Seluas Kecamatan Seluas Kabupaten Bengkayang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah cross sectional, untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas bakteriologis air sumur gali (SGL) dengan kejadian diare pada anak balita di Desa Seluas Kecamatan Seluas Kabupaten Bengkayang. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 91 orang dan dilakukan pemeriksaan air sumur gali yang terdapat pada rumah responden dengan pengambilan sampel secara proporsional random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas bakteriologis air sumur gali, yaitu keberadaan total coliform tidak memenuhi syarat sebanyak 73,6 %, konstruksi sumur gali yang tidak memenuhi syarat sebanyak 67 %, kejadian diare pada balita yang pernah mengalami diare sebanyak 72,5 %. Terdapat hubungan antara kualitas bakteriologis air sumur gali (SGL) dengan kejadian diare pada anak balita (p=0,000).Abstract. The Relationship Between Bacteriological Quality of Well Water (SGL) with Incidence of Diarrhea in Toddler Son in Seluas Village Kabupaten Bengkayang 2014. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between the bacteriological quality of well water and the incidence of diarrhea in children under five in Seluas Village Kabupaten Bengkayang. This type of research used in this study was cross sectional, to determine the relationship of the bacteriological water quality of dug well (SGL) and the incidence of diarrhea in children under five Seluas Village Kabupaten Bengkayang. These samples included 91 people. And examination dug well water contained in the respondent's house with proportional sampling random sampling. The results showed that the bacteriological quality of water wells, namely the presence of total coliform does not qualify as much as 73.6%, the construction of wells that do not qualify as much as 67%, the incidence of diarrhea in infants who had experienced diarrhea as much as 72.5%. There is a relationship between the bacteriological quality of water wells (SGL) and the incidence of diarrhea in children under five (p = 0.000).

Abstract

The increase in market demand for mustard needs to be balanced with an increase in production, one of which is by utilizing peat land which is balanced with the provision of gibberellin as a plant growth regulating hormone. This  study aims to determine the best concentration of gibberellin (GA3) in increasing the growth and yield of mustard on peat soil. The research was conducted at West Kalimantan Province, Southeast Pontianak Sub-district. The research was conducted from September 12nd – October 12nd 2020. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design with 4 levels concentration of gibberellin, namely was p1 (10 ppm); p2 (20 ppm); p3 (30 ppm); p4 (40 ppm). Each treatment was repeated 6 times and consisted of 4 plant samples so the whole plant samples were 96 plants. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, plant dry weight and plant fresh weight. The results showed the various concentrations of gibberellin could increase plant height, leaf number, leaf area and fresh weight of caisim mustard plants. The efficient gibberellin concentration was obtained at 30 ppm based on the yield potential of the plant, namely plant fresh weight with an average of 23.72 grams.

Abstract

Security comes from the Latin word secure, significantly different from the dangers, fears, and threats associated with traditional and non-traditional security methods. Meanwhile, defense is defined as the most vital technology for the state in carrying out its national security function. National security is defined as the dynamic state of a country which covers all aspects of the nation's life in facing threats. National security includes protection for the state, society, and individuals. Until now, experts have provided several different definitions of the terms security and defense. This article analyzes the current digital information security threats in national security strategies and the implementation of adequate legal protections. This article applies a descriptive qualitative research approach by conducting document analysis. This article describes various information security threats in Indonesia, including disinformation, privilege escalation, and protection against phishing threats, data forgery, and card crime. The similarities and differences between the concepts of defense and security can be observed through regulations, the terminology used, institutions, and constitutions. This article shows that national information security is closely related to policy and closely relates to security, especially ITE policies. It cannot be separated that the security situation of a country depends on security and defense but synergistically with other factors, namely economic, political, legal, socio-cultural, ideological, geographical, and demographic.

Abstract

Continuous mentoring is one of the ways that principals maintain and improve teacher competence. This research aims to measure how much influence ongoing mentoring has on the social competence and professional competence of teachers at public primary school 12 Selatpanjang Selatan. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental method. This method has nine stages, namely: literature review, identifying and limiting the research problem, developing research hypotheses, creating a research design, conducting pretests, conducting experiments, conducting post-tests, processing and analysing data, and drawing conclusions. The research sample totalled 10 teachers, consisting of 5 teachers in the experimental class and 5 teachers in the control class. The data collection techniques used were teacher social and professional competence tests. The results showed that the implementation of sustainable mentoring had a significant effect on the social and professional competence of experimental class primary school teachers. Continuous mentoring must continue to be carried out regularly so that the other two teacher competencies can be improved better.

Abstract

Background. Quantum computing is a technology that has great potential to revolutionize various scientific disciplines with its extraordinary computing capabilities. Multiple fields, such as cryptography, optimization, and complex simulation, have begun to explore quantum computing applications. However, a deep understanding of how these technologies can be used effectively in cross-disciplinary informatics still needs to be improved. Purpose. This research aims to develop a theoretical framework that explains the role of quantum computing in advancing interdisciplinary informatics. The main focus is to identify potential applications and challenges faced in applying this technology in various fields and evaluate its impact on the development of science and technology. Method. This research uses a qualitative approach, a literature review, and theoretical analysis methods. Data were collected from various academic sources, including journals, books, and conferences relevant to quantum computing and interdisciplinary informatics. Analysis was conducted to identify patterns, themes, and relationships between quantum computing and cross-disciplinary applications. Results. The research results show that quantum computing has the potential to solve complex computational problems in various fields, including cryptography, optimization, and physical simulation. Quantum computing can provide more efficient and faster solutions than classical computing. However, the research also identified several significant challenges, such as the need for quantum-specific algorithms and sophisticated technological infrastructure. Conclusion. Quantum computing is essential in advancing interdisciplinary informatics by providing superior computing capabilities. The theoretical framework developed in this research can be used to further study and develop quantum computing applications in various fields. The identified challenges require special attention to ensure effective and efficient implementation of this technology.

Abstract

Kalimantan relies significantly on peat water as a water source. However, due to its high organic content, acidic nature, and intense color, it is not safe to drink. To address this issue, researchers proposed an eco-friendly coagulant, calcium lactate, to remove suspended solids. To test its effectiveness, the coagulant was compared to membrane technologies, specifically nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO), at Rasau Jaya General Hospital in West Kalimantan between April and October 2022. Different pressures, 40, 60, and 80 Psi, were used to test both methods. Before and after treatment, the levels of total coliform, E. coli, pH, total dissolved solid (TDS), turbidity, color, and calcium were examined. The results showed that the best outcomes were achieved at 60 Psi. The combination of 0.8 mg/l calcium lactate and NF met all the standard values, except for color (29 TCU). Calcium lactate and RO, however, produced safe drinking water at 60 Psi from all analyzed parameters (E. coli=0, total coliform=0, pH=6.5, TDS=7.1, nephelometric turbidity units (NTU)=2.8 NTU, color=8.7 TCU, and calcium 7.6 mg/l). The reduction of bacteriological substances achieved 100% for both methods. Overall, the combination of calcium lactate and RO yielded slightly better results than NF.
