Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how students perceive the use of online video conference applications as a means of online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic at Raden Intan State Islamic University Lampung majoring in Biology Education and to find out what obstacles’ students experience. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method, in which the researcher describes the data based on the results of the questionnaire scores and is supported by the respondent's interview answers. It was shown that students' perceptions of the results of the total percentage on each indicator, namely the acceptance indicator consisted of 55%, the understanding indicator was 61.23%, while the evaluation indicator was 68.2% and had an average value of 61.47% which included in the good category. The perception of students is said to be good and can support the online learning process. Meanwhile, the obstacles felt by students when using video conferencing applications were still technical which are connections, networks, and time constraints.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan aplikasi daring  Video Converence  sebagai sarana perkuliahan daring pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung jurusan Pendidikan Biologi  dan untuk mengetahui apa saja kendala yang dirasakan oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, yang mana peneliti mendeskripsikan data berdasarkan hasil nilai kuesioner dan didukung dengan jawaban wawancara responden. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa dari hasil total persentase pada setiap indikator yaitu pada indikator penerimaan terdiri dari 55%, indikator pemahaman  61,23%  sedangkan indikator evaluasi yaitu 68,2% dan memiliki nilai rata rata sebesar 61,47 % yang mana masuk pada kategori baik. Persepsi mahasiswa sudah baik dan bisa mendukung proses pembelajaran daring. Kendala yang dirasakan oleh mahasiswa ketika menggunakan aplikasi video conference masih sebatas teknis yakni kurangnya koneksi, jaringan, serta keterbatasan waktu.Kata kunci: kendala, perkuliahan daring, persepsi mahasiswa, video conferenceDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v10i2.25247

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of student's conceptual understanding on the topic of elasticity and Hooke's Law utilizing a scaffolding-based technique guided inquiry facilitated by Google Classroom. The quasi-experimental design method is used in this investigation. This study's design includes all class XI students from one of Bandar Lampung's schools for the 2018/2019 academic year. This study employed systematic random sampling to obtain 30 students in each of the experimental and control groups. The research instrument employed was a concept understanding exam consisting of 20 two-tier diagnostic questions with a reliability level of 0.84 in the high category and suitability. The results of this study show an average value of 58.6 in the control group and 73 in the experimental group. The hypothesis results reveal that the significant value of the t-count t-table with the choice H0 is rejected, and the effect size test results suggest that d = 1.08 where d 0.8. These findings imply that the experimental class outperforms the control class. As a result, the scaffolding-based guided inquiry technique supported by Google Classroom has the potential to alter students' physics conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Scientific reasoning ability is one of the essential abilities in education for the 21st century. In addition, several studies reveal that scientific reasoning can affect academic achievement, which can also be seen from the gender aspect. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of academic achievement on scientific reasoning abilities, the effect of gender on scientific reasoning abilities, and the relationship between academic achievement and gender differences on the scientific reasoning abilities of physics students. The participants in this study were all final-year students in the Physics Education Study Program at the State Islamic University of Raden Intan Lampung for the 2019/2020 academic year. This study's sample size was 87, with 13 males and 74 females. Purposive sampling was used in this study. The sample was selected from students nearing the end of their lecture program. The research instrument used was the Lawson classroom test for scientific reasoning, consisting of 12 multiple-reason questions with a reliability level of ,604. The study's Kruskal-Wallis test showed no significant effect between academic achievement and gender on scientific reasoning abilities. Also, the correlation test results using the spearman test showed no positive relationship between academic achievement and gender differences on the scientific reasoning ability of physics students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami modernisasi, penerapan kurikulum, dan aneka bentuk pengembangan Pendidikan Islam yang dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren Diniyyah Putri Lampung untuk meningkatkan mutu lembaga pendidikan. Jenis penelitiannya adalah penelitian lapangan (field research) bersifat kualitatif (qualitatif research). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan modernisasi yang dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Diniyyah Putri Lampung berfokus pada Sarana dan prasarana, kurikulum, dan metodologi pembelajaran. Penerapan kurikulum pada tingkat MTs dan MA dilakukan dengan menerapkan kurikulum terpadu yang merupakan perpaduan antara kurikulum 2013, kurikulum intrakurikuler, ekstrakurikuler, dan kurikulum Diniyyah putri. Dampak modernisasi Pondok Pesantren Diniyyah Putri Lampung terklasifikasi dari dampak terhadap guru, siswi/santriwati, Lulusan/alumni, dan Dampak Terhadap kepercayaan masyarakat.Kata Kunci: Modernisasi, Pesantren, dan Pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

In pursuing innovative educational strategies, this study investigates the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) with blended learning to enhance students' conceptual understanding of magnetism. Utilizing AR as a significant educational tool provides an immersive experience that aids in comprehending complex concepts. At the same time, blended learning combines traditional classroom methods with online resources for a more effective approach. This research employs an experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group involving 60 students from the Islamic University of Raden Intan Lampung enrolled in a physics course on magnetism. The experimental group experienced AR-enhanced blended learning, while the control group received traditional blended learning without AR. Quantitative data analysis included descriptive statistics and the N-Gain test to measure the intervention's effectiveness, with ANOVA used to examine differences in conceptual understanding between the groups. Qualitative data was gathered through semi-structured interviews and analyzed thematically to identify common themes and patterns. The results indicate a significant improvement in the experimental group's understanding of magnetism compared to the control group, highlighting AR's effectiveness in enhancing interactivity and engagement, facilitating the visualization of abstract concepts, and reinforcing the linkage between theory and practical application. These findings offer educators and curriculum developers valuable insights, laying a foundation for future interdisciplinary educational research.

Abstract

Students’ low mathematical communication skill is influenced by several factors such as learning models applied by teachers in the classroom and the students’ learning motivation. Advanced organizer Model is appropriate to improve the students’ low ability. This study aims to determine whether: (1) there is an influence of advance organizer model toward the mathematical communication skill; (2) there is an influence of learning motivation toward the students’ mathematical communication skill, and; (3) there is an interaction between learning model and motivation toward mathematical communication skill. This research employs quasi-experimental design and the statistical analysis used is the two-ways variance with unequal cells. The result of this research shows that: (1) there is an influence of advance organizer model toward mathematical communication skill; (2) there is an influence of learning motivation toward students’ mathematical communication skill, and ; (3) there is no interaction between learning model and motivation toward mathematical communication ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa (hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan hasil belajar psikomotor) melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing terintegrasi pendidikan karakter. Pencapaian hasil belajar siswa yang diukur terdiri dari tiga aspek, yaitu aspek kognitif, psikomotorik, dan afektif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari soal pretest dan posttest (aspek kognitif), lembar penilaian psikomotorik (aspek psikomotorik), dan lembar penilaian afektif (karakter). Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan program IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Untuk analisis data kognitif dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji t berpasangan (paired sample t-test) terhadap data pretest dan post-test, sedangkan analisis data psikomotorik dan afektif peserta didik tiap pertemuan dianalisis menggunakan uji Friedman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan yang diberikan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa (hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan hasil belajar psikomotor) pada materi cahaya dan optika.Kata Kunci: cahaya dan optika, inkuiri terbimbing, pendidikan karakter

Abstract

This research is a weak experiment research   which aims to describe the profile of students' literacy ability improvement through scientific study. The research design used is  one group pretest-posttest design  with the sample of the study amounted to 32 students of class VII in one of SMP Negeri in North Lampung regency in the academic year 2014/2015 selected by using  purposive sampling technique . The data collection technique was conducted by using science literacy test consisting of 22 items with four choices of answers. The data were analyzed by calculating the normalized average score (N-gain) score data to know the improvement of scientific literacy ability measured by using Microsoft Excel . The data were then analyzed statistically by testing the students' pretest  and  post - test  values   by performing normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test using  IBM SPSS Statistics 22 program. The average yield of N-gain obtained is 0.46 and is in the category of moderate increase. Hypothesis test result on t test is known significance level of 0,00; smaller than α = 0.05 (Sign <0.05) which means that Ho is rejected. The results of this test indicate that the ability of science literacy before and after students applied scientific study is not the same, or with other expression can be said that there is a significant difference between the ability of science literacy before and after the application of scientific learning. The results of this study indicate that scientific learning can improve the students' literacy skill profile on competency aspect and knowledge aspect on environmental pollution material.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian weak experiment yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains siswa melalui pembelajaran saintifik. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest design dengan sampel penelitian berjumlah 32 orang siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Lampung Utara pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015 yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes literasi sains yang terdiri dari 22 butir soal dengan empat pilihan jawaban. Data dianalisis dengan menghitung data skor rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi (N-gain) untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains yang diukur dengan menggunakan Microsoft Excel. Data hasil penelitian kemudian dianalisis secara statistik dengan melakukan pengujian terhadap nilai pretest dan post-test siswa dengan melakukan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji t berpasangan (paired sample t-test) dengan menggunakan program IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Hasil rata-rata N-gain yang diperoleh adalah 0,46 dan berada pada kategori peningkatan sedang. Hasil uji hipotesis pada uji t diketahui taraf signifikansinya sebesar 0,00; lebih kecil dari α = 0,05 (Sign. < 0,05) yang berarti bahwa Ho ditolak. Hasil uji ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan pembelajaran saintifik tidak sama, atau dengan ungkapan lain dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan literasi sains siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya pembelajaran saintifik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran saintifik dapat meningkatkan profil kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada aspek kompetensi dan aspek pengetahuan pada materi pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

This research aims to; 1) develop learning media in the form of an integrated science bulletin on sound material; 2) investigate the response of students to the feasibility study media in the form of an integrated science bulletin on sound material for students of class VIII, with the formulation of the problem; 1) How to develop learning media in the form of an integrated science bulletin on sound material ?; 2) How is the response of students to the feasibility study media in the form of an integrated science bulletin on sound material. This study is a R & D method which adopting development of Borg & Gall. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung and SMPN 21 Bandar Lampung amounted to 40 learners and data collection instruments used in the form of a questionnaire given to subject matter experts, media experts, and a science teacher SMP to test the feasibility of media learning in a bulletin in the form of a pocket book for integrated science teaching. The type of data that is generated is a qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed with the guidelines criteria to determine eligibility assessment category product. The results of this study are; 1) has developed learning media in the form of an integrated science bulletin in the form of a pocket book; 2) feasibility study media bulletin integrated science that has been developed is very feasible with a percentage of 82% is based on an expert assessment materials after the final stage of repair, design expert with a percentage of 79.4% with the criteria of decent; 3) the percentage was 77.6%, a teacher the criterion is a decent; 4) the results of the response of learners with a percentage of 80% with the criteria are eligible.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; 1) mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa buletin IPA terpadu dalam bentuk buku saku pada materi bunyi; 2) mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap kelayakan media pembelajaran berupa buletin IPA terpadu pada materi bunyi dalam bentuk buku saku untuk peserta didik kelas VIII, dengan rumusan masalah; 1) Bagaimana mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa buletin IPA terpadu dalam bentuk buku saku pada materi bunyi?; 2) Bagaimana respon peserta didik terhadap kelayakan media pembelajaran berupa buletin IPA terpadu dalam bentuk buku saku pada materi bunyi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian R&D yang mengadopsi pengembangan dari Borg & Gall. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bandar lampung dan SMP Negeri 21 Bandar Lampung berjumlah 40 orang peserta didik dan instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket yang diberikan kepada ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru IPA SMP untuk menguji kelayakan media pembelajaran berupa buletin dalam bentuk buku saku untuk pembelajaran IPA terpadu. Jenis data yang dihasilkan adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang dianalisis dengan pedoman kriteria kategori penilaian untuk menentukan kelayakan produk. Hasil penelitian ini adalah; 1) telah dikembangkan media pembelajaran berupa buletin IPA terpadu dalam bentuk buku saku; 2) kelayakan media pembelajaran buletin IPA terpadu  dalam bentuk buku saku yang telah dikembangkan adalah sangat layak dengan persentase 82 % berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi tahap akhir setelah perbaikan, ahli desain dengan persentase 79,4% dengan kriteria layak 3) dengan persentase adalah 77,6%, penilaian guru dengan kriteria adalah layak  4) hasil respon peserta didik dengan persentase 80% dengan kriteria layak.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing a conceptual instruction worksheet on the material of the photoelectric effect for high school students. This research method is Design Research that produces products in the form of worksheets for students to construct the concept about photoelectric effect, so as to assist students in understanding the influence of the wavelength of the photoelectric effect and understand the influence of the type of metal used to the wavelength when the photoelectric effect occurs. After going through the validation experts who assess the content and the interface, then the products are developed tested to the user to determine the respons. By teachers and students, the products gain value with good criteria and otherwise practical for use in the classroom, also make students and teachers interesting with the product.Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja instruksi konseptual pada materi efek fotolistrik untuk siswa SMA. Metode penelitian ini adalah Design Research yang menghasilkan produk berupa lembar kerja untuk mengkonstruksi konsep siswa terhadap efek fotolistrik, sehingga dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami pengaruh panjang gelombang terhadap efek fotolistrik dan memahami pengaruh jenis logam yang digunakan terhadap panjang gelombang saat efek fotolistrik terjadi. Setelah melalui validasi ahli yang menilai isi dan antarmuka, kemudian produk yang dikembangkan diujikan kepada pengguna untuk mengetahui respons kepraktisan dan kemenarikkan. Oleh guru dan siswa, produk mendapatkan nilai dengan kriteria baik, dinyatakan praktis untuk digunakan pada pembelajaran, dan menarik minat guru dan juga siswa.
