Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the use of Educational Game Tools (APE) using used woven yarn in improving fine motor skills and its impact on the pre-writing ability of children aged 5–6 years in Group B. This research uses a quantitative method with a pseudo-experimental design (Quasi Experimental Design) type One Group Pretest–Posttest. The research subjects consisted of 15 children in group B who were given an initial test (pretest), treatment in the form of meronce activities using used woven yarn for six sessions, and a final test (posttest). The instrument used is in the form of an observation sheet that measures fine motor indicators and pre-writing. The analysis results show that the data is normally distributed so it can be analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. In fine motor skills (Y1), the average score increased from 52.86 to 79.13, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a calculated t value of -24.625, which showed a significant increase after treatment was given. In pre-writing ability (Y2), the average value increased from 50.40 to 77.13 after treatment, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and t calculated -28.488. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of APE to use used weaving yarn is effective in improving fine motor skills and has a positive impact on early childhood pre-writing skills. Thus, meronce activities can be used as an alternative learning media that is interesting, environmentally friendly, and suitable to support the development of children aged 5–6 years

Abstract

The low levels of students’ critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) indicate the need for a learning model that can enhance student activity, engagement, and analytical abilities. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PhET Simulation in improving elementary school students’ critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. This research employed a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample was selected using a saturated sampling technique, consisting of all 22 fifth-grade students at SDN 25 Cakranegara. Data were collected through pretests and posttests for both variables and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential tests. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test showed that all data were normally distributed, fulfilling the requirements for further analysis. The paired sample t-test revealed a significant increase after the implementation of PBL assisted by PhET, with a mean difference of 15.818 for critical thinking skills and 14.818 for IPAS learning outcomes, along with a significance value of p = 0.000 < 0.05. These findings confirm that PBL assisted by PhET Simulation is effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. This study recommends the implementation of active, 21st-century skill–based learning models in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh minat belajar dan kedisiplinan belajar terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket minat belajar, observasi kedisiplinan belajar, dan tes kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa minat belajar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman, sedangkan kedisiplinan belajar tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan. Secara simultan, kedua variabel memberikan kontribusi sebesar 99,9% terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Thinking-Pair-Share (TPS) learning model and learning motivation on the scientific literacy learning ability of elementary school students. The low scientific literacy of students is reflected in the results of national assessments and PISA studies showing the existence of learning strategies that can increase the active involvement of students and encourage collaborative knowledge construction. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The research 6subjects were 29 fifth grade students of SDN 5 BANYUMULEK. Learning motivation data were collected through test and answer instruments, then analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests and paired sample t-tests. The results showed that all data were normally distributed so that they met the requirements of parametric analysis. The TPS model provides opportunities for students to think independently, discuss in pairs and share ideas in groups, thereby strengthening critical thinking skills, communication and conceptual understanding. Thus, the TPS model can be used as an alternative science learning strategy to improve scientific literacy while simultaneo*usly fostering students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Learning in formal Early Childhood Education (PAUD) settings still tends to focus partially on cognitive outcomes, while motor and language stimulation has not yet been well integrated. This study aims to examine how sociomotor learning and language learning approaches influence the cognitive development of children aged five to six years in formal PAUD Class B, with age treated as a control variable. The study employed a quantitative approach using a 2×2 factorial experimental design, and the data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The results indicate that both the language learning approach and sociomotor learning have a significant effect on children’s cognitive development (p < 0.05). However, there is no evidence of a simultaneous effect of the two variables on the cognitive development of children aged five to six years. These findings emphasize the importance of holistic and integrated learning in early childhood education.

Abstract

The low achievement in mathematics learning among fourth-grade students at SDN Manggong is caused by a significant gap in abilities between students due to the implementation of a uniform curriculum that has not been able to accommodate the diversity of actual individual abilities within the class. The purpose of this study is to analyze in more depth the effect of the TaRL approach on students' mathematics learning outcomes in number pattern material for fourth-grade students at SDN Manggong. This study is quantitative research with a Pre-Experimental Design using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design model. The study was conducted in the 2025/2026 academic year, precisely in December 2025, with 35 fourth-grade students at SDN Manggong as research subjects. The data collection techniques used were tests, observation, and interviews. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, data normality tests, N-Gain, and hypothesis testing using the paired sample T-test. Hypothesis testing in the study was conducted with the help of SPSS Version 29. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant effect of the TaRL approach on mathematics learning outcomes in the number pattern material for fourth-grade students at SDN Manggong. This is evident from the Sig. value of 0.001 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. In addition, there was a significant increase in the average score from the pretest to the posttest by 26.97 points, from 61.91 to 88.89.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in handling aggressive behavior of early childhood through a role-playing approach at TK Hifzil Atfal Perendak. Aggressive behavior in early childhood often appears in verbal forms, such as yelling, mocking, and using harsh language, as well as nonverbal forms, including hitting, kicking, pushing, and grabbing toys. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of three teachers. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation, while data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers implement role-playing as a strategic approach by presenting simple conflict situations, guiding children to understand emotions, and encouraging positive social interactions. The role-playing activities were conducted through several stages, including determining objectives and themes, preparing scenarios, guiding children during role enactment, providing positive reinforcement, and conducting reflection. The results show that the role-playing approach effectively reduces aggressive behavior and promotes prosocial behaviors such as empathy, cooperation, self-control, and appropriate emotional expression. These findings support Albert Bandura’s Social Learning Theory and Sara Smilansky’s Sociodramatic Play Theory, emphasizing learning through observation, imitation, and meaningful social experiences. Therefore, role-playing can be considered an effective pedagogical strategy to address aggressive behavior and enhance social-emotional development in early childhood

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran matematika, namun banyak siswa sekolah dasar masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah secara sistematis. Kondisi ini juga terlihat pada siswa kelas IV SDN 3 Ampenan yang nilai matematikanya belum optimal, khususnya pada materi pecahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan penggunaan media puzzle terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Penelitian menggunakan desain One-Group Pretest–Posttest dengan jumlah sampel 24 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes uraian pemecahan masalah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dari nilai rata-rata pretest 59,44 menjadi 75,07 pada posttest. Data berdistribusi normal dan uji t menghasilkan p-value 0,000 dengan effect size 9,1 yang menunjukkan pengaruh sangat besar. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan PBL yang dipadukan dengan media puzzle dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa secara efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi guru dalam menanamkan nilai moral pada anak usia dini di TK Mitra Bangsa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas guru dan anak usia dini di TK Mitra Bangsa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penanaman nilai moral pada anak usia dini dilakukan melalui beberapa strategi utama, yaitu keteladanan guru dalam perilaku sehari-hari, kegiatan bercerita, pemanfaatan media audio visual, serta penguatan positif melalui interaksi guru–anak yang komunikatif dan empatik. Strategi-strategi tersebut saling melengkapi dan berkontribusi terhadap proses internalisasi nilai moral anak secara alami dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi guru pendidikan anak usia dini dalam merancang pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pembentukan nilai moral sejak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of reading comprehension ability and reading interest on Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Sampoja. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students, with a total sample of 30 students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a reading comprehension test, a reading interest questionnaire, and an Indonesian language achievement test. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, normality tests, Pearson correlation analysis, simple regression, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed a strong and significant positive correlation between reading comprehension ability and Indonesian language learning outcomes (r = 0.913, p < 0.01). Reading interest also had a positive and significant correlation with learning outcomes (r = 0.767, p < 0.05). Furthermore, reading comprehension ability and reading interest simultaneously had a significant effect on Indonesian language learning outcomes, with a determination coefficient of 84.3%. These findings indicate that improving students’ reading comprehension ability, supported by strong reading interest, plays a crucial role in enhancing Indonesian language learning outcomes at the elementary school level.
