Abstract

Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders experienced by workers, especially in environments that involve strenuous physical activity, such as in the Plant Department of PT. Adimitra Baratama Nusantara. This condition can interfere with the productivity and quality of life of workers. Therefore, it is important to make prevention and education efforts about LBP. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) physiotherapy counseling in improving workers' understanding of LBP and its prevention measures. Counseling was conducted to 25 workers using pre-test and post-test methods to measure the improvement in understanding before and after counseling. The material presented included risk factors, symptoms of LBP, and Williams Flexion Exercise (WFE) exercises as part of prevention. The results showed a significant improvement in workers' understanding of LBP, especially related to the identification of risk factors, symptoms, and prevention techniques. In conclusion, K3 physiotherapy counseling has been shown to be effective in increasing workers' awareness of LBP and providing them with the knowledge to manage it independently.

Abstract

Then a slow deep breathing demonstration was carried out, at the end of the activity a posttest was carried out with questions and answers to measure understanding after giving the material. The results of this activity showed an increase in understanding of the definition, signs and symptoms of hypertension with the percentage before counseling increasing from 10% to 100%. The percentage of understanding regarding the prevention and causes of hypertension before counseling was 5% and increased to 100%. And the understanding of slow deep breathing exercise obtained before counseling from 0% increased to 100%. Abstract

Currently, many students adopt an unhealthy lifestyle characterized by a lack of physical activity. Lack of physical activity can affect lung function, one of which is Forced Vital Capacity (FVC). Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) is the volume of air they can forcefully exhale when a person take a deep breath. An FVC below 80% indicates airway problems, meaning the lungs are not functioning properly. A lower FVC indicates decreased lung function, which can impact physical activity and quality of life. Aerobic exercise can improve lung function. The purpose of this study was to determine how jogging, an aerobic activity, affects FVC. This study is a quasi-experimental study using a one group pretest and posttest design Muhammadiyah Malang Physiotherapy undergraduate students who met the inclusion requirements became the research sample. The sample was measured using a spirometer before and after treatment, and they were given jogging exercises twelve times for four weeks. According to the findings of the Paired t-test, Aerobic Exercise has an effect on FVC (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion: based on the research results, there was an increase in FVC values ??in students after being given aerobic exercise in the form of jogging.

Abstract

Background: Long Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), also known as post-acute COVID-19 and Post-COVID-19 syndrome, is characterized by signs and symptoms that occur after the acute phase of COVID-19. Long COVID-19 is found in many COVID-19 survivors. Long COVID-19 patients report a wide range of signs and symptoms. They ranged from respiratory disorders to cognitive disorders. During sleep, serum serotonin is released from special cells in the pons and midbrain stem. Serotonin in the brain is believed to provide a sense of calm and have a sleeping effect. Serotonin improves sleep quality and concentration, increasing energy, creating a better mood, and reducing anxiety. Methods: Analytic observational with cross-sectional data. This study's population comprised 49 respondents who were post-COVID-19 patients living in Malang Raya. Data was collected using the Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) questionnaire to assess sleep quality and the learning concentration questionnaire to assess learning concentration. Results: A p-value of 0.029 showed a significant association between sleep quality and learning concentration. Furthermore, with a score of 0.312, the link between sleep quality and learning concentration is weak. Conclusions: This study finds that there is a link between sleep quality and learning concentration in post-COVID-19 patients, implying that sleep quality has a significant impact on the occurrence of learning concentration abnormalities.

Abstract

Background: Someone with a healthy and fit body is likely to be able to do a high level of physical activity. Physical exercise can improve physical fitness and has an important element, cardiorespiratory endurance. One way to measure cardiorespiratory endurance is by measuring the maximum volume of oxygen consumption, called VO2 max. Methods: This type of research uses a quasi-experimental type, namely two pre-and post-test design research groups. The type of quasi-experimental research design uses two groups of subjects, namely group A, who are given yoga exercises, and group B, who are given zumba exercises, with a total of 30 respondents. The cardiorespiratory endurance was measured with the beep test. Results: Based on the paired sample t-test, the San Zumba yoga group had a result of p<0.05. Whereas in the independent sample T-Test test, the results of p<0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the increase in the yoga and zumba groups. Conclusion: There are differences in the effect of giving yoga and zumba exercises on increasing VO2 max values.
