Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the impact of brand image and price on the decision to purchase Toyota Avanza cars in Indonesia. The research aims to determine which factor—brand image or price—strongly influences consumer behavior and whether brand image mediates the relationship between price and purchase decision. Research Design and Methodology: Data were collected from 384 respondents through structured questionnaires using a quantitative descriptive approach. The sample consisted predominantly of males aged 25-35, a key demographic in the automotive market. The study employed Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to ensure construct validity and Cronbach's Alpha to confirm reliability. Multiple linear regression and path analysis were conducted to examine the relationships between variables. Findings and Discussion: The analysis revealed that brand image and price significantly affect purchase decisions, with brand image having a more substantial impact. Furthermore, path analysis demonstrated that brand image is a mediator between price and purchase decision, indicating that the perception of brand value enhances the influence of price on consumer choices. Implications: These findings have significant implications for automotive companies. They suggest that to effectively influence consumer behavior, companies should prioritize enhancing their brand image over engaging in price competition. This study makes a substantial contribution to marketing strategy development in the automotive sector. It also recommends future research that incorporates longitudinal designs and additional variables, such as cultural and psychological factors, to better understand consumer decision-making processes across different markets.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to integrate environmental education into school curricula to enhance environmental literacy, awareness, and sustainable behaviors among students and teachers. Research Design and Methodology: The study employed a multi-phase methodology, including needs assessment, curriculum development, teacher training, student engagement activities, mentoring, and monitoring. The project was implemented through comprehensive workshops for teachers, hands-on experiential learning activities for students, and continuous mentoring and assessment. Findings and Discussion: Results from pre- and post-intervention assessments indicated significant improvements in environmental knowledge and awareness among participants. Students displayed a deeper understanding of environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, and exhibited positive shifts in attitudes and behaviors towards environmental conservation. Teachers reported increased confidence and competence in integrating environmental topics into their teaching practices, facilitated by professional development sessions covering contemporary environmental issues and pedagogical strategies. Implications: The study found that experiential learning activities, such as nature walks and school gardens, were particularly effective in fostering student engagement and retention of environmental knowledge. Additionally, the involvement of local environmental organizations and community members played a crucial role in reinforcing positive behavioral changes through social learning and community involvement. However, challenges such as limited resources and variability in teacher preparedness were identified, suggesting the need for ongoing support and resource allocation.

Abstract

Jakarta Bay is one of the important waters in Indonesia that plays a major role in economic activities, shipping, defense, and coastal tourism. Therefore, field observations and numerical modeling with Mike 21 are needed to determine the pattern of tidal current movement. Field observations of currents and tides were carried out for 15 days at the marina beach where the observation data will later be processed using the admiralty method to determine the harmonic component and tidal type and the observation data is used to validate the data from the MIKE 21 modeling simulation. The tidal validation results got an RMSE value of 0.13 with a correlation of 0.95 and the current validation results got an RMSE value of 0.05 with a correlation of 0.14.
