This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of the I-ProBL model in improving the skills of vocational high school students. The model used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study were 270 students, 6 teachers, 3 industry practitioners, and 2 vocational education experts in three vocational high schools in Yogyakarta. The object of this study is the I-ProBL learning model applied in the vocational high school curriculum. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, validation questionnaires, and tests. The instruments used included interview grids, model feasibility validation questionnaires, and student practice test instruments. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively by calculating the average value and percentage of student skill improvement before and after the implementation of the I-ProBL model. The results showed that the I-ProBL model has a high level of suitability with industry needs (4.6, very good category) and relevance to the world of work (4.7, very good category). the implementation of this model increased the average student grades by 20.1% to 21.2% and increased student engagement in learning (85%) and their readiness to face the world of work (90%). The impact of this study shows that I-ProBL can be an effective solution in improving the quality of vocational school graduates and strengthening the relationship between schools and industry. However, for more optimal implementation, it is necessary to improve teacher training, provide more adequate facilities, and support policies that encourage closer collaboration between vocational schools and the industrial world.

Abstract

Management of New Student Admissions (PPDB) is a crucial element in ensuring that schools can provide optimal educational services. In this context, information technology plays a significant role in introducing schools through various platforms, including websites and social media, to disseminate information about the PPDB process and the flagship programs offered. This study aims to analyze the management of PPDB at SMK Muhammadiyah Petanahan, Kebumen Regency, using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews with stakeholders involved in PPDB (the Principal, PPDB Chairperson, and students), observations of PPDB activities in the field, and documentation studies of promotional archives and new student admission data. The data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman's data analysis technique. The results of the study indicate that SMK Muhammadiyah Petanahan has a good reputation and several flagship programs. However, there are weaknesses in promotion that have not been maximized, especially in the use of social media. The school also faces threats from competition with other schools and societal stigma against vocational schools. Nonetheless, there are significant opportunities, including government support for vocational education and the potential for collaboration with companies for student internships. This study concludes that effective PPDB management at SMK Muhammadiyah Petanahan requires strengthening promotion through information technology, utilizing collaboration opportunities with industries, and improving facilities to address increasingly intense competition.

Abstract

The transformation of the elderly toward active ageing is a crucial issue as Indonesia’s ageing population continues to grow, posing social and economic challenges. Older adults are often perceived as passive and dependent, whereas with the right approach they can remain productive and independent. This community engagement program empowers seniors through the establishment of RUJAK POLO (Rumah Jaringan Usaha Kerja Produktif – Productive Work Network House) as a hub for training, collaboration, and community-based creative enterprise development. The method applied was Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving 20 seniors in Argosari Hamlet, Sedayu, Bantul, from problem identification to training in eco-printing and crafts, business management mentoring, and participatory evaluation. Results show significant improvement: 80% of participants produced simple products after training (compared to 25% before). They also gained additional monthly income of Rp150,000–Rp300,000 from local market sales.Beyond economic impact, RUJAK POLO strengthened community organization, self-confidence, and social bonds. The program supports active ageing, aligns with SDGs 8 and 11, and serves as a replicable best practice model.
