Abstract

Errors in associating some knowledge result in students' mistakes in choosing strategies so that problems cannot be solved. In fact, the new curriculum in Indonesia requires students to be able to solve problems that require higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to describe how students process problems in solving bridge context problems. This research is qualitative research with case study method. This research was conducted in April 2022 with the research subject being a junior high school student in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The instrument in this research is the problem of high order thinking (HOT) to measure problem solving ability. The instrument was designed based on the mathematics material that students had learned and compiled through five times Focus Group Discussion (FGD) by 3 mathematics lecturers. Data were collected using documentation and interviews then will be analyzed descriptively. Based on the results and discussion presented in the previous section, the authors collect three types of errors in solving problems made by students. The three types of errors are operational, conceptual, and principal errors.

Abstract

The use of GeoGebra in mathematics education positively impacts students' mathematical abilities. This meta-analysis examines its overall effectiveness using 10 studies selected from Google Scholar and Scopus based on inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using RStudio, revealing an overall effect size of 1.31, indicating a highly positive impact. The study also analyzed variability with four moderator variables: education level, publication type, control class type, and mathematical ability. Results show that GeoGebra significantly enhances mathematical abilities based on publication source and control type but is not influenced by education level. Notably, GeoGebra effectively improves students' conceptual understanding of mathematics, making it a valuable tool for enhancing mathematical skills in education. These findings emphasize the significant role of GeoGebra in fostering students' mathematical comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media based on e-learning using Google Sites with the Tri-N approach (Niteni, Nirokake, Nambahi) to enhance students' learning motivation in the Statistics material for eighth-grade junior high school students. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D development model, consisting of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. Data were collected through initial needs observation and product validation by media and material experts. The product developed is an interactive e-learning media containing teaching materials, instructional videos, practice exercises, and assessments based on the Kurikulum Merdeka. This media is designed to facilitate students' learning activities through the stages of Niteni, Nirokake, and Nambahi, with the expectation of encouraging active participation in the learning process. Due to time limitations, this research was conducted only up to the expert validation stage; practicality and effectiveness tests were not carried out. The validation results indicate that the Tri-N-based e-learning media is suitable for use in Statistics learning. In the future, this media has the potential to be further developed for other materials and educational levels as an innovative digital learning alternative for teachers and students.
