Abstract

This dedication article focuses on the activities of the Sumber Datar Kukerta Team's service related to the use of digitalization as a marketing development strategy and know the efficiency of the Sale Banana Chips business in Sumber Datar Village. This Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) is a processed product from bananas developed in Singingi District. This is supported by abundant banana production in Sumber Datar Village. This dedication activity is interesting to study because with the business activities of the Salean Sale Chips Food Processing can contribute to profits for the surrounding area business actors. This is supported by the use of marketing digitalization which plays an important role in the sales process that reaches targets to foreign countries such as Malaysia. This service article uses a qualitative approach which includes three stages, namely observation, socialization, and implementation. The results showed that the socialization activity of MSMEs of Sale Mbok Ikem banana chips had been carried out with the output of a MSME marketing content as well as information related to the use of digitalization through social media as a marketing forum.

Abstract

Tourism competition between regions has recently become increasingly competitive, to be able to compete, an effective strategy is needed to develop the potential and uniqueness of the region to be competitive. For this reason, the development of tourist destinations must be more innovative so that tourists who come are willing to repeat their visits in these tourist areas. The main problem that arises related to tourism in the region at this time is how to increase regional competitiveness so that its potential can be exploited to the fullest. This study aims to determine the tourism communication strategy in developing tourism potential in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research method is using a qualitative descriptive approach using a constructivist paradigm. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. To test the validity of the data in the field, a credibility test was conducted.  The results of tourism communication research are the process of delivering image messages that involve the role of stakeholders, both internal and external. The right strategy to be carried out by the Kuantan Singingi Regency government in developing regional tourism potential, elaborating brand image and brand identity, will be able to develop the potential and uniqueness of the region to become a tourism strength. The pattern of communication strategies between local governments and communities lacks synergy, with local tourism communities and human resources that do not have expertise in tourism.

Abstract

Gender equality in the world of education is a crucial issue that impacts the social and economic development of society. This research aims to examine and analyze the status of gender equality at SDN 003 Pulau Padang Village, an elementary school located in the rural area of Riau. The research methods employed include surveys, classroom observations, interviews with students and school staff, as well as statistical data analysis. The results of this study highlight several challenges faced in achieving gender equality at SDN 003 Pulau Padang Village. Although the participation rates of female and male students in primary education are similar, there are significant differences in academic performance between the two groups. Further analysis reveals that factors such as social expectations, household roles, and access to educational resources play a crucial role in these differences. Furthermore, the research finds that efforts to enhance gender equality in schools have been made, including gender awareness programs and teacher training in inclusive approaches. However, there is still room for improvement in the implementation of these programs.

Abstract

Societal gap is a phenomenon that exists between the layers of society which creates mass significant differences between it. Through the movie Parasite, Bong Joon Ho successfully portrayed a visualization of the societal disparity issue that happens between two South Korea families with different economic backgrounds. This research’s sole purpose is to analyze and evaluate the representation of societal gap which is depicted thoroughly in Parasite’s filmography. This research uses the method of qualitative research with John Fiske’s semiotic analysis. The subject is the movie Parasite which is directed by Bong Joon Ho. The data is obtained by the method of observing and documentation. The data’s unit of analysis is picked solely by the scenes that interpret signs of societal gap, which rounds up to 31 scenes. The data’s examination technique uses the technique of source’s triangulation. The research has brought up a few results such as, (1) The reality level and societal gap is represented in aspects of appearance, the way each families speak, behavior, movements, expression, and the environment that they reside at. (2) The level of representation and societal disparity is illustrated through aspects of the film such as, camera, lighting, music, and voices. (3) The level of ideology and portrayals of societal gap values can be assured to contain values of socialists and capitalists. In the aspect of socialists, the societal gap is seen as something that stands out because of the significant differences that exist between the different layers of society. Meanwhile, the capitalist values can be seen in how the movie has portrayed how a person with a higher position in the society is the capital holder and the ones that exist in the middle to the lower class of society depends themselves on the ones that resides on the higher class of society.

Abstract

Revolusi komunikasi mengiringi industri pariwisata dapat selaras memanfaatkan strategi promosi melalui sarana digital demi kemudahan akses pemenuhan kebutuhan tersier manusia. Tim pengabdian membidik potensi wisata Kecamatan Kuok Kabupaten Kampar layak untuk dikembangkan kearah digital dengan mengutamakan kesiapan pokdarwis khususnya desa belimbing. Kabupaten Kampar merupakan salah satu kabupaten penyumbang utama potensi wisata di Riau. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan diskusi dengan mengundang masyarakat pemilik home industri kuliner dan terutama Pokdarwis. Kesiapan sumber daya manusia dan stimulasi dari terapan e-tourism saat ini ditawarkan agar potensi wisata memberikan efek positif yang menyatu dengan peluang kerja dan peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat tempatan. Kecanggihan aplikasi augmented reality, pembuatan akun media sosial, web desa, dan bekerjasama dengan aplikasi sejalan dengan industri pariwisata baik nasional maupun mancanegara. Tentu saja sinergi dan kontrol antara pokdarwis, masyarakat dan aparatur desa perlu dijaga guna terpeliharanya kemandirian industry pariwisata desa meskipun demikian tetap diperlukan pendampingan bagi desa guna dalam menjalankan publikasi dan pengelolaan industri tersebut.

Abstract

Lagu ini menceritakan bagaimana ketakutan untuk menjadi dewasa, akan tetapi harus tetap melangkah demi meraih mimpi-mimpinya. Kondisi inilah yang disebut sebagai quarter life crisis. khalayak yang mendengarkan lagu ini menciptakan pemaknaan yang berbeda sesuai latar belakang yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang berfokus pada analisis resepsi. Adapun data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara melalui proses observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi dengan delapan orang informan yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive. Hasil penelitian yang pertama menunjukkan bahwa tujuh dari delapan informan meresepsi atau setuju dengan pesan yang disampaikan (dominant) mengenai quarter life crisis pada lagu “Takut” karya Idgitaf. Kedua, beberapa informan yang setuju dengan pesan yang disampaikan dalam lagu tersebut, memberikan beberapa pengecualian (negotiated). Kemudian yang ketiga, pada penelitian ini terdapat tiga dari delapan informan yang berada dalam posisi menolak (oppositional) dari beberapa pesan quarter life crisis pada lagu tersebut, berdasarkan referensi yang mereka miliki.

Abstract

Talang Jangkang Village is one of 11 villages in Kemuning District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The Talang Jangkang area has a good water source that flows from the Reteh River. However, the potential for fisheries, especially fisheries cultivation, has not been optimal and well managed. In Talang Jangkang Village, there are only 39 freshwater fish cultivation ponds but they do not last long because many fish die and many also experience crop failures. The purpose of this freshwater cultivation extension activity is so that the people of Talang Jangkang Village are able to cultivate freshwater fish better and more precisely so that mistakes do not occur that cause fish to fail to harvest and mass deaths. The activity methods include program socialization, community group extension, and mentoring. The community group extension activity was carried out on August 13, 2024. The material provided includes Fish Enlargement, Water Quality Management, Feeding, Pest and Disease Control, and Harvesting. The community service team plays a role in providing an introduction to the discussion.  After that, it was continued with a two-way discussion that placed the community as a subject who was actively involved in the extension activity. After the outreach activities were held, the community of Talang Jangkang Village increased their insight regarding freshwater fish cultivation.

Abstract

Village as a government that directly related to the community is the main focus in government development, because most of Indonesia's territory is in the countryside. Therefore, in village development it needs to be directed at the realization of an "independent village". In order to encourage and awaken the ability of the community, especially rural communities, many programs have been made by the government. One of them is through empowering rural communities by involving the community and elements of government that have more reactive development policies that give priority to the needs of village communities in budget allocation so that they are able to exploit the potential of their respective regions. This study aims to determine: 1) community participation in the implementation of Musrenbang Desa in Titian Modang Kopah Village, Kuantan Tengah District, Kuantan Singingi District; and 2) know the obstacles. Meanwhile, the research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, and data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study concluded that: 1) The level of community participation in the Musrenbangdes was very lacking, so the Musrenbangdes implementation activities in Titian Modang Kopah Village were only a formality; and 2) The obstacle in the implementation of the Musrenbangdes in Titian Modang Kopah Village is the difficulty in making decisions regarding the prioritized program which has not been realized, the community is less able to express their aspirations because they still have weak analytical power to the development needs due to weak resource factors the community and the lack of synergy between the various development funding sources owned by Titian Modang Kopah Village. As a consequence of these obstacles, many government programs are not based on the potentials and uniqueness of the Region, causing many potential in Titian Modang Kopah is ineffective.

Abstract

Online media that contains journalistic works in Riau, especially Pekanbaru, also reported developments, policies, and ways to handle Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) since the spread of this disease in Indonesia. Journalistic language as the main thing in making news which must pay attention to applicable rules and important parts in the use of various journalistic languages and look for any deviations contained in writing journalistic works. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative research using data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the model of Miles and Huberman (1984) namely data collection, data presentation, data reduction and finally data verification. The results obtained by the research in distinguishing the use of jurnilstic language between Riau and Riau24 are found in the use of the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ). The results of the study stated that between Riau and Riau24 there are some differences in the style of the journalistic language. Comparison of journalistic language deviations in Antara Riau as a news agency under the auspices of the government has many journalistic language deviations than Riau24 asaprivate news agency. The causes of this deviation include the use of Auto Correct on tools used such as Smartphones, Laptops, or Computers in the Editor's section. Another cause is not focused and lack of accuracy in writing and editing news. Abstract

Detik.com and Riauonline.co.id are online media outlets that frequently and intensely cover flexing cases, especially the viral reporting of the flexing incident involving the family of Riau Province's Secretary of Regional Secretary SF Hriyanto. This coverage has become a topic of conversation not only in Indonesia but also internationally. The reporting has been picked up by foreign media outlets as well. In the current era of information and communication technology, the role of mass media is paramount. Online media, with its advantage of speed in delivering news, plays a significant role in accelerating and expanding the dissemination of information to the public. In mid-March 2023, the Indonesian mass media was rocked by the coverage of flexing involving the family of the Secretary of Riau Province, SF. Hariyanto. The flexing went viral after being posted on social media, and both domestic and international media outlets, such as detik.com and riauonline.co.id, quickly responded and reported on the case. The phenomenon of flexing created a unique moment for the audience and the mass media covering it, with online, electronic, and print media being highly responsive to emerging issues in society. Detik.com and riauonline.co.id showed significant differences in their approaches and intensities of coverage, with detik.com appearing more in- depth in reporting various aspects of the flexing case. This study aims to analyze how online media outlets detik.com and riauonline.co.id construct the coverage of flexing involving the family of the Secretary of Riau Province using the Zhondang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki Framing Analysis. The adopted research paradigm is constructivist, focusing on text analysis techniques using Pan and Kosicki's framing analysis framework. This research is important to understand how mass media shapes the framing of coverage on this flexing case and its impact on public perception.
