Abstract

Mathematical literacy is defined as the ability to formulate, use and interpret mathematics in a variety of contexts, including systematic reasoning, using mathematical concepts, procedures, facts, and tools to describe, explain, and predict phenomena to help individuals. One of the things that underlie the low ranking of Indonesian students is weak mathematical literacy is the lack of use of non-routine problems that are made based on real-life contexts, so they can only work on routine questions. This study was conducted to explore mathematical literacy indicators that appear in solving real problems through math trail activities. The research subjects were taken from the ranking of students in the previous class, so that 1 male student, namely S1, and 1 female student, namely S2, were selected, who ranked highest in the class for each gender. S1 shows indicators of mathematical literacy in the form of communication, mathematization, reasoning, and argumentation, designing a strategy, using symbolic, formal, technical language and operation, and using mathematical tools. While S2 is in communication, mathematization, reasoning and argumentation, designing a strategy, representation, formal, technical language and operation, and using mathematical tools.

Abstract

This study aims to see how the influence of the profile of Pancasila students in seventh grade junior high school students on numeracy literacy skills related to mathematical literacy. The samples in this study were students from SMP Negeri 2 and SMP Negeri 4 Cirebon City class VII totaling 56 students. The type of research used is a quantitative methodology. Data analysis in this study used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with Pearson correlation analysis. This study uses the independent variable, namely the ability of numeracy literacy and the dependent variable, namely the character profile of Pancasila students. For data collection using questionnaires and test questions. The questionnaire contains 18 statements with 6 indicators of the Pancasila student profile and 6 test questions with 3 indicators of numeracy literacy. The results of this study indicate that the ability of numeracy literacy has a positive effect on the character profile of Pancasila students

Abstract

Abstrak. The success of students learning mathematics depends on their mathematical disposition. Students with a high mathematical disposition have a strong will and determination to learn. They are directly involved in the learning process so students can solve the problems they face confidently. Mathematical dispositions are not born instantly but result from long-term interactions, especially with mathematics teachers, during the learning process at school. This study aims to determine the mathematical disposition of junior high school students in the city of Banjarmasin. This type of research is survey research. The population in this study were students of class IX junior high school in the city of Banjarmasin. The sample in this study amounted to 65 students, with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. Data collection uses a mathematical disposition questionnaire containing 25 statement items. Descriptive statistical methods analyzed mathematical disposition questionnaire data. The results showed that the mathematical disposition of class IX junior high school students in Banjarmasin was 18.5% in the high category, 63.1% in the medium category, and 18.5% in the low category. As for the indicators of students' mathematical disposition, it shows that the high category is in the appreciation aspect, the medium category is on the indicators of flexibility, curiosity, metacognition, and application, while the indicators of self-confidence and persistence are in the low category.

Abstract

Abstrak. Deaf students have limitations in language, so they have difficulty in solving story problems. The use of mathematical problems with pictures makes the information about the questions readable with the use of few terms and language. However, it is possible for deaf students to have different terms so that they have different misconceptions or ways of solving them. the approach used is qualitative research with case studies. The subjects involved were deaf students without mental and intelligence disorders as many as 5 students at SLB-B YPPALB Magelang City. Collecting data using written tests and interviews which are then analyzed through triangulation of sources. The results obtained are deaf students are not familiar with pictorial questions so it takes longer. Based on the indicators of problem solving ability, deaf students have difficulty in interpreting the meaning of the questions so that there are errors in working on the questions. Errors that occur are errors in the concept used, calculating errors, and errors in the use of formulas.

Abstract

Abstrak. Learning is currently transitioning to digital learning. This encourages teachers to create a learning environment that can support students’ learning. The results of PISA 2018 show that students' mathematics learning in Indonesia is not good. This is partly due to the low interest in learning mathematics. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase students' interest in learning mathematics. One of them uses mathematical modeling learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the influence of learning mathematical modeling on students' interest in learning. This study used a design research approach focused on the retrospective analysis stage with quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results showed that learning mathematical modeling had a positive effect on students' interest in learning. In addition, students' interest in learning can also be shown when learning takes place. Students participate actively during learning activities, ask questions when needed help, and collaborate with each other. It is hoped that with this research, teachers can use the mathematical modeling learning environment as a learning reference.

Abstract

Literacy ability is the ability to formulate, apply, and interpret daily life problems into mathematical form. In this case, mathematical literacy is an ability that needs be mastered by the students. The purpose of this study is to investigate the weaknesses of the students in solving problems related to mathematical literacy. This research is a descriptive qualitative research by using triangulation in conducting data analysis. The triangulation refers to the triangulation between the results of student work, interviews, and observations. The subjects in this study are 15-years old students. Then, the instruments used in the study are mathematical literacy tests, interview guidelines and observation guidelines. The results show that in the process of solving the mathematical literacy problems, students experience difficulties in the process of understanding the problem in mathematical form, known as mathematising. Therefore, the obstacles in the mathematising process result in students' ability to complete the next stage. The problems found from the research show that students are less familiar with literacy-based questions so that they have difficulty in the process of understanding

Abstract

This study aims to design a Math Trails-based Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) to promote students’ numeracy skill. This research uses design research consisting of three stages: (1) preliminary design, (2) teaching experiments, and (3) retrospective analysis. This research is focused on the preliminary design stage. The HLT component consists of learning objectives that are adjusted to numeracy indicators, learning activities using task designs on MathCityMap, and hypothetical learning process that refers to the steps of mathematical modeling process to solve numeracy problems. The results of this study are HLT in the form of 8 task designs that have been designed, reviewed by experts, and revised according to suggestions and received a score of 4,6 out of 5 from experts. For further research, experimental research can be carried out to examine the increase in numeracy skills through this designed HLT.

Abstract

The integration of technology in classroom learning has become a common trend among educators. The use of technology in LMS, video conferencing, and others that are integrated with the learning process is very important. This review aims to analyze the integration of models and learning media in a flipped classroom for learning physics. The method used is a systematic review. The data was collected on an academic database, namely Scopus with the help of the Harzing's Publish or Perish application using the keyword “Flipped”. The analysis sample used is articles about learning Flipped Classroom as many as 1614 articles published in 2011-2021. Based on the six inclusion criteria, the articles analyzed were 20 articles. The instrument used is a coding sheet that summarizes the data and information of the article. The results show that the flipped classroom can use various media, in the form of videos, quizzes, LMS, online textbooks, blogs, discussion groups, Facebook groups, quizzes, LMS, PDF materials, PPT materials, Phet simulation, or in web form. The most commonly used media are videos, quizzes and LMS. In general, the use of media in flipped classrooms has been effective, but there are things that need to be considered in making media, including: 1) Making videos with shorter durations, 2) showing more video examples, 3) videos linked to the YouTube platform are good in LMS or independently, 4) Requires class guidance and agreement so that the use of media is effective.
