Abstract

The significant increase in the use of electric vehicles (EVs) demands the development of fast charging systems that are not only efficient but also maintain battery integrity. One of the primary challenges in direct current (DC) charging is balancing speed with minimizing degradation caused by thermal stress. This study proposes a charging optimization model based on the Thunderstorm Optimization Algorithm (TA) for CHAdeMO-based DC systems. A lithium-ion equivalent circuit battery model was used to simulate electrochemical and thermal dynamics. The model introduces an adaptive charging current profile designed with a dynamic boundary configuration, defined here as the iterative adjustment of current limits according to real-time thermal and health constraints. Compared to conventional constant current–constant voltage (CC–CV) methods, TA considers maximum temperature, State of Health (SoH), and target State of Charge (SoC) simultaneously. The simulation (180 minutes, passive cooling, Python-based) showed that TA reduced SoH degradation to 1.3% and battery life usage to 18.4%—the latter defined as cumulative stress energy normalized to initial capacity—compared to 2.9% and 22.5% for CC–CV. Additionally, TA achieved a higher average charging power (26.1 kW vs. 24.8 kW) without exceeding 50 °C. Although the algorithm requires more computational effort than CC–CV, its moderate complexity suggests feasibility for real-time integration in battery management systems. These findings highlight TA as a promising adaptive and sustainability-oriented charging strategy.

Abstract

The product produced by MSMEs Melati Losari is an instant empon empon drink that has many benefits. Problems that can be identified in the field of production are limitations in the process of squeezing the empon empon drink. MSMEs Melati Losari so far still uses manual equipment and methods, namely by placing it between the cloth and then threading it using human power. Thus it takes quite a long time in the process of producing the empon empon drink. The long process reduces productivity in processing this product. From the conditions above, the method and results of this community service are providing appropriate technology by applying an empon- empon drink squeezer machine, which aims to reduce interference during the squeeze process. This empon-empon squeezer is designed to make it easier for users and has a size that is small so that it can be stored easily and has press technology to make it easier during the process of squeezing instant empon-empon drinks. This empon- empon squeezer already uses stainless material to so that the instant empon empon drink during the squeezing process maintains the authentic taste and color of the processed empon empon ingredients. And can meet the recommended food safety standards (food grade) as well as carry out training on the use of tools and maintenance, so that these tools can increase the efficiency, and hygiene of empon empon beverage products, products with high hygiene can improve the quality and quantity of instant empon empon drink production MSMEs Melati Losari.

Abstract

This paper proposes a fully distributed secondary control scheme for a low-voltage DC microgrid with ring topology. The main objectives are to restore the common bus voltage to its nominal reference and to achieve accurate proportional current sharing among distributed generator units in the presence of non-uniform line resistances and mixed load conditions. The proposed secondary layer integrates a consensus-based adaptive droop controller and a consensus-based voltage observer. The adaptive droop mechanism dynamically adjusts the virtual impedance of each converter using neighbor-to-neighbor current information to reduce current-sharing errors, while the voltage observer provides a distributed estimate of the average bus voltage to compensate for droop-induced voltage deviations. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through simulation on a ring-configured DC microgrid consisting of four converters and five buses. A comparative study demonstrates that conventional droop control improves current sharing but introduces significant steady-state voltage deviation. By contrast, the proposed integrated approach achieves nearly zero current-sharing error while maintaining the DC bus voltage close to its reference value. The dynamic performance is further evaluated under both resistive-load and constant-power-load variations. The results show that the controller ensures fast voltage restoration, accurate proportional current sharing, and stable operation without sustained oscillations, even under nonlinear constant-power-load conditions. These findings indicate that the proposed distributed secondary control strategy provides robust voltage regulation and precise current sharing for ring-type DC microgrids.

Abstract

The increasing penetration of PV, wind turbines, battery storage (BESS), and electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) in hybrid microgrids complicates the harmonic landscape. Common practices rely on FFT-based measurements and THD/TDD indices, but source attribution and causality assignment are often uncertain. We map how epistemological positions shape how we measure, explain, and justify technical claims about harmonics. We then propose an Epistemically-Informed Harmonic AI (EPI-HAI) framework that combines standardized measurements (IEC/IEEE), physics-constrained AI modeling (KCL/KVL, impedance), XAI (SHAP/Grad-CAM), and uncertainty management to strengthen epistemic trust. A vignette of a PV–BESS–EVCS microgrid demonstrates that triangulation of evidence (n-order patterns, operating logs, line impedance) is more valid than mere spectral correlation. The three main contributions of this article are, the compilation of a map of the relationship between epistemology and methodology in harmonic analysis, the formulation of transparent and accountable physics-based artificial intelligence (AI) design principles and a discussion of pedagogical implications that can be applied in the development of power engineering curricula.

Abstract

Distributed secondary control (DSC) is essential for voltage regulation and current sharing in DC microgrids with high renewable penetration. However, the diversity of system configurations, control strategies, and validation approaches challenges the reproducibility of published results. This study evaluates reporting and validation practices in 74 DSC-related articles from a reproducibility and research ethics perspective. Using a document-based ex post facto design, we construct a Reproducibility Readiness Index (RRI) based on system configuration reporting, validation completeness, and performance metric clarity. Results show that most studies exhibit low to medium reproducibility readiness, with only about one third achieving high levels. While system descriptions are generally adequate, validation setups and performance metrics are often incomplete or qualitative. Studies including hardware-in-the-loop or prototype experiments tend to score higher, though weak documentation remains a major limitation. These findings emphasize reproducibility as both a technical and ethical concern and support the need for stronger transparency and open science practices in DSC research on DC microgrids.

Abstract

Metaheuristic-based maximum power point tracking algorithms are widely used in photovoltaic systems to address nonlinear and multi-peak characteristics under partial shading conditions. However, many reported performance claims rely mainly on numerical simulation and therefore require cautious interpretation. This study presents a simulation-based comparative and epistemological analysis of Particle Swarm Optimization and Differential Evolution for photovoltaic maximum power point tracking. Both algorithms are implemented in an identical buck converter-based photovoltaic framework to ensure fair comparison. Performance is evaluated under uniform irradiance and partial shading conditions using convergence time and tracked power as evaluation metrics. The results show that under uniform irradiance, both algorithms reliably converge to the maximum power point with similar steady-state accuracy, while Particle Swarm Optimization converges faster. Under partial shading conditions, Particle Swarm Optimization consistently tracks the global maximum power point, whereas Differential Evolution shows occasional convergence failure or suboptimal tracking. From an epistemological standpoint, these findings constitute coherent and pragmatically useful model-based knowledge, while remaining provisional due to the absence of experimental validation.

Abstract

Internet use in Banyumas Regency is now increasingly diverse according to the demands of the needs. The development of communication technology raises various aspects that also develop. For example, the use of the internet for a traffic light control system so that it can be adjusted according to the settings and can be monitored in real time. In the development of communication technology, the term Internet of Things (IoT) emerged as the concept of extending the benefits of internet communication systems to give impulses to other systems. In other words, IoT is used as a communication for remote control and monitoring by utilizing an internet connection. The Internet of Things in the era is now being developed to create an intelligent system for the purposes of controlling various public needs until the concept of the smart city emerges. Basically, smart cities utilize internet connections for many purposes such as controlling CCTV, traffic lights, controlling arm robots in the industry and storing data in hospitals. If the system is carried out directly from the device to the central server, there will be a very long queue of data while the system created requires speed and accuracy of time so that a system is needed that allows sufficient data control and processing to be carried out on network edge users. Then fog Computing is used with the hope that the smart city system can work with small latency values so that the system is more real-time in sending or receiving data
