Abstract

Based on data analysis from observations and interviews with science teachers at SMPN 22 Padang, it can be seen that the student learning process is still passive, and students' interest and motivation in learning are still lacking. Textbooks are the main teaching materials used by both teachers and students. These problems make it difficult for teachers to carry out the learning process, causing students to have difficulty understanding the learning material. This study aims to produce an e-module based on problem-based learning using Adobe Flash Professional CS6 which is valid, practical, and effective for class VIII SMP students. This type of research is design and development research that uses the Plomp development model. The research data were obtained from validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. Based on the results of the study, showed that the e-module based on problem-based learning had a validity value of 84.24% with very valid criteria based on the validator's assessment. The results of the practicality assessment by the teacher are 90.68% and the results of the practicality assessment by the students are 87.72% with very practical criteria. Problem-based learning-based e-modules that have been developed have effectiveness with very effective categories in terms of competency assessment in the cognitive domain, affective domain, psychomotor domain, and student learning activities

Abstract

One of the factors for improving the quality of education in schools is teaching materials. Based on the results of observations at SMAN 1 Sitiung that students have not used e-modules but use electronic teaching materials in the form of pdf files downloaded from the internet and only in the form of writing and a few pictures. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it is known that students have difficulty understanding the concept of the respiratory system material. This causes low student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the creative thinking questionnaire, it was found that students' creative thinking ability is still low with an average score of 33.8, so it is included in the less creative category. So it takes teaching materials that can help in visualizing the subject matter. This type of research is Plomp model development research which consists of three stages, namely the initial investigation stage, the development or prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. The research subjects were class XI students at SMAN 1 Sitiung for the 2022-2023 academic year. Validation results by the validator on nuanced e-modules Science Technology Engineering And Mathematics (STEM) shows an average grade 88.05% (very valid). Practical results by Biology teachers showed an average score of 87.5% (very practical) and 88.28% students (very practical). The test data for the effectiveness of creative thinking was obtained from the average essay questions 81.22% (very creative).

Abstract

Cabbage (Brassica oleracea L) is a type of vegetable that is widely grown in high altitude areas, and has good benefits for health and can ward off disease. Cabbage is easily wilted, damaged and rotten. Fermentation is a food preservation process, which plays a role in improving the nutritional content, extending the shelf life of food. Fermentation of cabbage with the addition of salt is called sauerkraut. Fresh cabbage fermented into sauerkraut uses salt with a certain concentration, so no need to add other microorganisms as a starter (inoculum) or yeast, because lactic acid bacteria already exist in cabbage. This research is an experimental study carried out in December 2019 until January 2020, at the Biology Research Laboratory, FMIPA UNP. The design used in this study was a complete random design (CRD) with four treatments and five repetitions. In the treatment, 2.5% salt content and 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% sugar variation were used. The main observational parameters included fermentation time. Data were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test and further tested with DNMRT at the 0.05 level. Based on research results found that the addition of sugar in the fermentation process of sauerkraut affects the fermentation time.
