Abstract

TThe purpose of this study is to design Creative Problem Solving (CPS)-based assessment instrument for critical thinking ability on stoichiometry materials. The method of development utilized in this study is Research and Development (RD) adapted from Borg Gall Model which consists of 10 development steps. However, In this study, only up to the third stage, namely the initial product development stage of the assessment instrument for the critical thinking ability of students based on CPS on Stoichiometric material. The main target in the final result of this research is to design a valid CPS-based critical thinking ability assessment instrument on Stoichiometry material that is valid so that it is suitable for use. The assessment instrument developed produced 10 items which were declared valid and reliable with a reliability price of 0.749. The CPS-based critical thinking ability assessment instrument provides more comprehensive information about the characteristics of the instrument that has been developed.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan modul berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) pada pokok bahasanelektrokimia ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis STEM pada pokok bahasan elektrokimia kelas XII SMA/MA, mengetahui kevalidan modul berbasis STEM pada pokok bahasan elektrokimia berdasarkan aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian, bahasa, STEM serta kegrafisan, dan mengetahui respon pengguna terhadap produk modul berbasis STEM pada pokok bahasan elektrokimia. Prosedur pengembangan penelitian yang dikembangkan adalah model pengembangan ADDIE (Analisis, Perancangan, Pengembangan, Implementasi dan Evaluasi). Namun penelitian hanya dilakukan hingga tahap Pengembangan. Hasil dari pengembangan ini menunjukkan bahwa modul layak digunakan dengan baik  dengan penilaian kelayakan modul oleh para ahli sebesar 90,64%. Untuk respon pengguna modul dapat digunakan dengan baik dengan skor sebesar (88,19% guru dan 94% peserta didik).]

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis literasi sains dengan strategi MEA yang dinilai valid sesuaidengan penilaian validator serta praktis berdasarkan uji respon pengguna (guru dan peserta didik). Validitas dinilai berdasarkan 6 aspek kelayakan yakni kelayakan isi, kelayakan karakteristik literasi sains, kelayakan strategi MEA, kelayakan kebahasaan, kelayakan penyajian, dan kelayakan kegrafisan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang mengacu pada tahapan 4D, tetapi hanya sampai pada tahap uji coba terbatas. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yakni lembar validasi dan angket uji praktikalitas pengguna. Penilaian pada lembar validasi diberikan oleh 3 orang validator.Penilaian angket uji praktikalitas pengguna diberikan oleh 2guru dan 20 peserta didik dari SMAN 1 Bengkalis dan SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. Hasil validasi LKPD dinyatakan valid dengan perolehan skor pada aspek kelayakan isi, karakteristik literasi sains, strategi MEA, kebahasaan, penyajian dan kegrafisan berturut-turut sebesar 95,83%, 87,50%, 91,67, 89,58%, 94,44% dan 95,83%. Sedangkanhasil uji praktikalitas penggunadinyatakan praktis dengan perolehan skor sebesar 91,67% oleh guru dengan kriteria sangat baik serta 90,67 % oleh peserta didik dengan kriteria sangat baik.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Student Activities Worksheet Based on the MEA Model on the ionic equilibrium and pH of buffer solution material for grade XI SMA/MA. Student Worksheet Based are designed according to the stage of the MEA learning model. The type of this research is research and development (R and D) about the development process of 4-D. The object of this research is student activities worksheets based on MEA. The data collection is the validation user response questionnaire. The validity of the content aspect obtained the result of data analysis, characteristics of MEA, language aspect, serve aspect, and visual aspect are 96.43%, 93.33%, 85.41%, 97.22%, 97.91% with valid category. Student activities worksheets validated by the validators tested to 25 students and three teachers. The test responses by 25 students and three chemistry teachers included very good criteria, with each score of 95% and 80.33%. Based on the result of data analysis, student activities worksheets based on MEA of ionic equilibrium and pH of a buffer solution produced are valid.

Abstract

A flavonoid compound was isolated from dried rihzomes of tunjuk langit (Helminthostachis zaylanica Lin), a traditional medicine from South Sumatera, Indonesia. Extraction was done by maceration methode and separation of isolated compound was conducted by chromatographic technique. The structure of this compound was determined base on spectroscopic data such as including UV, IR, 1-D, 2-D NMR, and comparison with the reported data. Based on spectral data analysis, concluded that isolated compound was Ugonin J (5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-6-(6,6-dimethyil-2-methylenecyclo-hexylmethyl)flavone).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan majalah kimia elektronik E-CheMagz yang dibuat menggunakan Flip PDF Professional pada materi ikatan kimia yang valid serta mengetahui respon pengguna terhadap E-CheMagz. Penelitian termasuk jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D), model pengembangan yang diadaptasi dari Plomp dengan langkah-langkah terdiri dari fase investigasi awal, fase desain, fase realisasi/konstruksi, fase validasi, uji coba, dan revisi. Validasi dilakukan untuk menilai produk yang dikembangkan berdasarkan aspek subtansi materi dan desain pembelajaran oleh 2 ahli materi, tampilan (komunikasi visual) dan pemanfaatan software oleh 2 ahli media melalui angket validasi.  Uji coba dilakukan kepada kepada 30 orang peserta didik dan 3 orang guru kimia dari SMAN 9 Pekanbaru, SMAN 12 Pekanbaru, dan SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. Hasil penilaian validasi menunjukkan pada aspek substansi materi, desain pembelajaran, aspek tampilan (komunikasi visual) dan pemanfaatan software berturut-turut 97,22%, 98,61%, 100% dan 96,43% dengan kriteria baik/valid/layak. Respon pengguna berada pada kriteria sangat baik dengan hasil penilaian 92,59% oleh guru dan 84,87% oleh peserta didik, sehingga dihasilkan majalah kimia elektronik E-CheMagz final yang dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to see the improvement of conceptual understanding and identification of students self-confidence by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to chemical bonding material. This type of research is quantitative with a pre-experimental design using the one group pretest-posttest step. The sample of this research was 36 students of Class X MIA 1 at SMA Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques were using questionnaires and questionnaires. Quantitative descriptive data analysis technique was by calculating the percentage value of students' concept understanding. The results of data analysis showed that there was an increase in understanding of the concept of chemical bonds from 37.28 (pretest) to 81.39 (posttest), which was an increase of 44.11. The results of the analysis using the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The results of the identification of students self-confidence obtained 81.94 with a very good category. The application of the Problem Based Learning model can improve understanding of concepts and be able to raise the confidence of students.

Abstract

Education today focuses on creating characters who are able to face future challenges. The first challenge in this global era is the need for every student to have process skills in 21st century learning known as 4C: (1) Communication Skills, (2) Collaboration skills, (3) Critical Thinking and (4) Creative. One of the characteristics desired in 21st century education is a communicative and collaborative character. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of the communicative and collaborative character of students after using guided inquiry-based e-LKPD on acid-base material. The form of this research was quasi-experimental research. The research sample consisted of 2 classes, namely the experimental class (XI MIA 1) and the control class (XI MIA 2). Based on the research, the results showed that the use of guided inquiry-based e-LKPD on acid-base material can improve the communicative and collaborative character of students through observation results with an average value in the experimental class, respectively, namely 89.25% and 85% with the high category compared the control class is 44.75% and 36.75% with the low category.

Abstract

The research on the development of e-modules on hydrocarbon compound material for agricultural vocational school education units aims to develop e-modules that are in accordance with the demands of the agricultural vocational curriculum. This study used a research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which only consists of 3 stages, namely analysis, design and development. The object of research was the e-module on the material of hydrocarbon compounds. The research subjects were 3 educators who taught chemistry subjects at the Agricultural Vocational School and 23 Agricultural Vocational Schools students. Data collection was done through validation sheets and response questionnaires. The results showed that the e-module developed was very valid or very feasible to be tested in the field with an overall average percentage value of material validation of 91.69% and an overall average percentage of media validation of 94.13%. Based on the results of the test, the response of educators obtained an average percentage of 85.18% with the very good category and the results of the students' responses obtained an average percentage of 72.72% with the attractive category. Thus it can be concluded that the e-module of hydrocarbon compounds is very good and interesting to be applied in the learning process on a larger scale.

Abstract

Pentacyclic triterpenoid, betulinic acid (1) and phenolic, p-hydroxybenzoic acid (2), had been isolated for the first time from the stem bark of Vitex pubescens Vahl. The structure of compounds 1 and 2 was determined based on the interpretation of spectroscopic data including UV, IR, NMR (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMQC, HMBC, COSY) and MS, as well as by comparison with those reported data.
