Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the significant effect of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted by animation on class VII students of junior high school. The population of this study were all students of class VII SMP. The number of respondents is 30 students where the respondents are the population as well as the research sample. This research is a descriptive quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design. From the results of the analysis above: (1) Differences in learning outcomes in the cooperative learning model with the animation-assisted jigsaw strategy can be seen from the average pretest score (69.57), and posttest score (84.80) and individual completeness at pretest (43%) and posttest (80%), while classical learning completeness reaches more than 80% so that it reaches the Minimum Completeness Criteria, 2) Student responses to the jigsaw-type cooperative learning model assisted by animation obtained were 87% of students liked the classroom atmosphere, and 96% of students liked the way the teacher taught the material, and 88% of students considered themselves helped and got more opportunities and 89% of students feel that they have had a good opportunity in expressing ideas, responding to questions, asking questions, and presenting work results so as to foster self-confidence, being able to think critically, being open, self-motivated, cooperative, and responsible, 3) there is the effectiveness of implementing the type cooperative learning model jigsaw in social studies learning as evidenced by the percentage of agreement obtained from two observers of 97%.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 mempengaruhi hampir seluruh aspek kehidupan, tak terkeccuali aspek pendidikan. Dampak dari pandemi Covid-19 pada aspek pendidikan adalah mengharuskan keegiatan belajar mengajar tetap berjalan meskipun peserta didik berada di rumah. Sehingga pendidik dituntut untuk mendesain media pembelajaran sebagai inovasi dengan memanfaatkan media daring (online). Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mempelajari dan memahami penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam pembelajaran online masa Covid-19. Hasil kajian ilmiah ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi informasi berbasis media animasi dalam pembelajaran online di masa Covid-19 ini menimbulkan berbagai tanggapan dan perubahan yang mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran serta tingkat perkembangan peserta didik dalam merespon materi yang disampaikan. Sehingga dapat ditarik sebuh benang merah bahwa pembelajaran berbasis media animasi dirasa cukup efektif dalam pembelajaran IPS baik disaat pandemic covid-19 bahkan pasca pandemic covid-19.

Abstract

Social studies learning contributes to social and human values. This study relates to the value of local wisdom in social studies learning in Sidoarjo Regency in order to increase the social awareness of junior high school students. This study aims to determine the inculcation of local wisdom values ​​through planning, implementation, and student responses to the value of local wisdom in social studies learning. This study uses qualitative methods and research data sourced from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Validity test using triangulation technique. Data analysis uses interactive analysis, namely through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that 1) the learning design prepared by the teacher was appropriate and categorized as good, 2) the implementation of the value of local wisdom in social studies learning was able to improve students' conceptual understanding, 3) student responses to social studies learning carried out by teachers combined with local wisdom were able to foster enthusiasm. because students can understand the material based on their experience. In conclusion, the inculcation of local wisdom values ​​in social studies learning is able to increase learning motivation and develop students' social care attitudes.

Abstract

Disaster management strategies will work effectively if residents have the same understanding in disaster management. The Sidoarjo Regency area is an area that has the potential for natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and tornadoes. The purpose of this study is to increase students' knowledge, increase student awareness, develop disaster response skills. This type of research is case study research. In this study the researchers only attempted to collect simple information about disaster management in disaster preparedness schools through surveys, interviews and documentation. The integration of disaster mitigation in social sciences in junior high schools is very important to provide students with an understanding of the importance of reducing risks and losses due to disasters. The results of the study show that in general students have sufficient understanding of disasters, especially natural disasters. Students are noted to have a positive appreciation of the school. They also know that knowledge in understanding disaster is quite adequate as evidenced by the results of students' understanding related to disasters, including floods 80%, and tornadoes 75%, while other types of disasters are poorly understood (earthquakes 60%, and fires 50%). However, the existence of disaster mitigation education activities in schools is able to increase knowledge, disaster management skills and maximize self-potential, so that it has an impact on positive attitude changes in the form of increasing student awareness about disasters with an average score of 85%.

Abstract

Salah satu cara untuk menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman dan nyaman adalah dengan menerapkan metode 5R, yaitu Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, dan Rajin. Metode ini menekankan pada manajemen kondisi fisik tempat kerja yang terorganisir. Asal usulnya berasal dari Jepang dan dikenal sebagai 5S, yaitu Seiri (Ringkas), Seiton (Rapi), Seiso (Resik), Seiketsu (Rawat), dan Shitsuke (Rajin). Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi, tempat kerja di UD. Radalla Collection saat ini sangat berantakan, sehingga diperlukan upaya pengendalian.Tujuan pengabdian untuk meningkatkan kualitas operasional dan membangun budaya kerja 5R.Metode pengabdian meliputi survei lokasi dan pengenalan diri, memahami alur kerja, identifikasi risiko bahaya, menentukan topik 5R, promosi 5R kepada pekerja, dan menyusun laporan akhir PKL. Hasil promosi K3 di UD. Radalla Collection berpengaruh bervariasi pada pemahaman pekerja. Meskipun sebagian besar mengalami peningkatan, beberapa tidak mengalami perubahan atau bahkan menurun. Fokus dan keterlibatan pekerja dalam sosialisasi penting untuk efektivitas program. Perlunya implementasi yang konsisten untuk maksimalkan efisiensi dan keselamatan di tempat kerja ditekankan. Kesimpulan pengabdian ini pekerja belummenerapkan 5R dikarenakan tidak terbiasa dan kurangnya arahan dari perusahaan.

Abstract

The country is known for its various traditions and rituals that have deep values in the lives of its people. Mbeleh golekan is a ritual practice rich in meaning and symbols, involving the slaughter of dolls as a tribute to ancestors as well as the use of elements such as brown sugar, seven-figure flowers, cows, and ingkung, each of which reflects gratitude, salvation, and cultural identity. The data collection techniques in this study used qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach, literature studies, and interviews to explore the meanings and experiences of the informants related to mbeleh golekan. The literature study involved collecting data from journals that discuss local culture, customary rituals, and traditions of communities in Indonesia, especially in the context of East Java. Data from the interviews were then compared with the literature review to ensure the validity and consistency of the findings. Through a structural theory approach, this article analyses how the symbols interact and create a network of meanings that strengthen social relations within the community. By maintaining the mbeleh golekan tradition, the community not only preserves cultural heritage, but also strengthens solidarity and understanding of the values passed down from generation to generation. This research is expected to provide insight into the importance of maintaining cultural diversity and the meanings behind traditional practices in the context of modern society.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of national integration education in post-conflict Aceh, focusing on the materials, approaches, and challenges faced in its implementation. The Aceh conflict (1975–2004) left deep social, economic, and psychological scars, necessitating educational interventions to foster unity and prevent disintegration. National integration education aims to cultivate values of tolerance, solidarity, and social justice among students, aligning with multicultural and peace education principles while emphasizing national cohesion. Using qualitative methods, including interviews and observations with selected teachers and students, this research explores how national integration education is taught in schools. Findings indicate that while the program has successfully raised students' conflict sensitivity and reinforced peace-building values, challenges remain in pedagogical approaches and institutional support. The study highlights the importance of experiential and contextually relevant learning both inside and outside the classroom to strengthen national integration. The study contributes to the discourse on post-conflict education by advocating for a more structured and inclusive approach to national integration education, ensuring it addresses historical divisions and promotes lasting social harmony.

Abstract

Education in the 21st century necessitates the cultivation of capabilities that integrate cognitive abilities, social skills, and character development. In the context of accelerating globalisation, local wisdom values are progressively marginalised, despite their crucial influence on the formation of students' identity, social empathy, and tolerance. This project seeks to create and evaluate the efficacy of a Social Studies (IPS) learning model grounded in local knowledge, referred to as the Social Cognition Construction Model Based on Local knowledge. The study utilised a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, adhering to the phases of the Borg & Gall development model, which include needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited trials, and extensive implementation. Data were gathered by observation, questionnaires, and tests, then analysed employing both descriptive quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The findings demonstrate that the Social Cognition Construction Model Based on Local Wisdom is both valid and practicable, as per evaluations from experts and practitioners. Both the limited and extended trials evidenced the model’s efficacy in improving five critical dimensions of learning: cognitive abilities (from 54.64 to 77.16), learning observation / observation of student engagement (from 89.25 to 96.00), learning motivation (from 79.06 to 94.12), social attitudes (from 64.64 to 92.02), and nurturant effect (from 81.20 to 92.65). In conclusion, the Social Cognition Construction Model Based on Local Wisdom significantly enhances Social Studies learning outcomes and promotes the development of student character that values local traditions, cultivates social empathy, and encourages harmonious social interactions.

Abstract

Tradisi pawai Ogoh-Ogoh di Desa Adat Kuta, Bali, merupakan representasi dinamika sosial budaya masyarakat Bali dalam menjaga identitas lokal di tengah arus globalisasi dan pariwisata. Awalnya bersifat sakral, kini ogoh-ogoh mengalami transformasi makna menjadi medium kritik sosial, ekspresi budaya, hingga simbol partisipasi generasi muda. Melalui pendekatan interaksionisme simbolik dan performativitas budaya, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa makna ogoh-ogoh dibentuk melalui interaksi sosial dan kontekstualisasi nilai. Peran Sekaa Teruna Teruni (STT) sangat sentral, baik dalam pembuatan, tema, maupun inovasi ekologis dan visual. Fenomena glokalisasi tercermin dari integrasi nilai lokal dengan pengaruh global, termasuk keterlibatan perempuan dan komunitas non-Hindu. Tradisi ini bukan hanya media pelestarian budaya, tetapi juga arena negosiasi identitas, resistensi terhadap komodifikasi, dan regenerasi nilai-nilai kultural.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of social conflict-based learning in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in social studies (IPS) subjects. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Bandung using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of 34 eighth-grade students. The research instrument was a critical thinking test that measured students’ ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize social issues. Pre-test results showed that 29 students demonstrated good critical thinking skills, while 5 students were categorized as very good, with an average score of 74.94. After the implementation of the social conflict-based learning model, the post-test results indicated a significant improvement: 33 students reached the very good category, and only one student remained in the good category, with the average score rising to 84.41. These findings suggest that learning based on social conflict is effective in fostering students’ critical thinking skills, encouraging them to engage with social issues in a more reflective and analytical manner.
