Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding given to children from birth to 6 months of age with no supplementary foods and beverages. exclusive breastfeeding was one of the keys to reduce infant mortality rate (IMR). The coverage of babies receiving exclusive breast milk in 2019 was 67.74%. The low level of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by many factors, one of which is the mother's lack of awareness of the importance of breastfeeding in the first 6 months after giving birth. Breasts need to be prepared during pregnancy, which impacts providing IMD (Early Initiation of Breastfeeding), which influences exclusive breastfeeding. Research aim was to compare the effectiveness between  media phantom and video regarding the Breast Care Skills of Pregnant Women in the Third Trimester. The research used quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample was obtained by purposive sampling of 60 people (30 intervention groups and 30 control groups). The results of data analysis used Mann-Whitney test. Results showed that p value p = 0.000, meaning p < 0.05, stating that the demonstration using phantom media was more effective in improving breast care skills in third-trimester pregnant women. In conclusion, it is hoped that this guide can be used by stakeholders or service partners and motivate pregnant women to carry out breast care since pregnancy so that they can successfully provide exclusive breastfeeding until the baby reaches 6 months.

Abstract

Population issues are still the main focus of both developed and developing countries including Indonesia. The government through the Population and Family Planning Sector continues to strive to reduce the Total fertility Rate by reducing the drop out rate of contraceptive use. Drop out is the non-participation of fertile age couples to become family planning acceptors. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the drop out of family planning acceptors in West Lombok Regency. Previous studies stated that the factors causing drop out were knowledge, attitudes and distance from health services. The difference between this study and previous researchers is the research method used, the location of the study and the time of the study, and to determine the most dominant factors causing drop out. The research design used Cross-Sectional, a population of 135,076 with a sample size of 100 fertility age couple obtained randomly using the proportional to size method, the research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi square test to determine the effect and the multivariate logistic regression test to see the most dominant effect. Results: Chi Square test of knowledge factor obtained p value 0.000 < from alpha (0.05), motivation factor obtained p value 0.0005 < from alpha (0.05), access factor obtained p value 0.961 > from alpha (0.05), insurance ownership obtained p value 0.001 < from alpha (0.05) and work obtained p value 0.000 < from alpha (0.05) Conclusion: there is an influence of knowledge, motivation, insurance ownership and respondent's work with the occurrence of drop out in family planning acceptors while respondent access has no influence on the occurrence of drop out in West Lombok Regency. While the most dominant factor is motivation with OR value 5.575, meaning KB acceptors who do not have strong motivation have a risk or tendency of 5 to 6 times dropping out as family planning acceptors.

Abstract

Hypertension is known as the silent killer because it typically doesn't cause symptoms or complaints, so many sufferers are unaware of it. Central Lombok Regency has the second-highest number of hypertension cases in West Nusa Tenggara Province, with 58,666 cases, consisting of 27,980 men and 30,686 women. Most people with hypertension are unable to control their condition, likely due to varying knowledge and perceptions about managing their condition. One health program that can be used to change attitudes among people with hypertension is to provide nutritional information or education about the DASH diet, which is essential for blood pressure control. The purpose of this Community Service Program (PKM) is to increase the knowledge of hypertensive patients in an effort to improve their health status so that blood pressure remains under control and thus can prevent or inhibit complications of other diseases. The PkM activity was carried out through direct counseling for outpatients at the Praya Health Center using video media, and blood pressure measurements and measuring pre-post-test knowledge. The results of this PkM activity were increased patient knowledge and an average patient blood pressure of 145.5 mmHg for systolic blood pressure and 85,3 mmHg for diastolic blood pressure

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health issue that begins early in life and is stronglyassociated with inadequate maternal care, nutrition, and infant feeding practices.Pregnant adolescents are particularly vulnerable due to limited knowledge andreadiness for childbirth and breastfeeding, which are crucial for preventing stuntedgrowth in infants. This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the effectivenessof a Mobile WebApp–based intervention in increasing knowledge related to childbirthreadiness and breastfeeding as part of stunting prevention among pregnant adolescentsin Narmada Subdistrict, West Lombok Regency, Indonesia. A total of 60 pregnantadolescents who met the inclusion criteria (aged 15–19 years, first pregnancy, andable to use smartphones) were selected using purposive sampling. The instrument, a25-item questionnaire, was developed based on the Health Belief Model (HBM),covering aspects of perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, and cues to actionrelated to maternal and infant health. The instrument underwent expert validity testingby three midwifery and maternal health specialists and achieved a validity coefficientof r = 0.78 and a Cronbach’s alpha reliability value of 0.86, indicating goodconsistency. The one-month Mobile WebApp intervention provided educationalmodules on breast care, signs of labor, early initiation of breastfeeding (EIBF),breastfeeding techniques, and exclusive breastfeeding up to six months of age. Datawere analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed a significantimprovement in maternal knowledge after the intervention (p < 0.05). These findingsdemonstrate that the Mobile WebApp effectively enhances pregnant adolescents’readiness for childbirth and breastfeeding, thereby supporting efforts to preventstunting. Integrating mobile health applications into maternal education can strengthenadolescent mothers’ capacity to promote optimal maternal and child health outcomes.
