Abstract

This research is motivated by advances in science and technology, as well as the lack of variation in learning methods integrated with technology in learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of web learning in supporting independent learning. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which includes five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Validation was carried out by media experts and material experts, followed by a field trial involving 35 students of SMKN 1 Bintan Utara. The research instrument used a structured questionnaire on a Likert scale to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the media. The validation results showed that the learning media was valid and in accordance with learning needs. The practicality test produced an average score of 85.71% with a very practical category. The effectiveness test through gain score analysis showed an increase in student learning outcomes with a gain value of 0.6 with a moderate category. In conclusion, web-based learning materials are effective, valid, and practical in improving students' understanding of concepts and learning outcomes in science subjects

Abstract

This research aims to develop a web-based information system to overcome administrative inefficiencies in managing the Field Work Practice (PKL) program at Vocational High Schools (SMK). Using the prototype development method, the research followed three stages: collecting user requirements, developing and refining a mock-up, and evaluating system performance through Black Box Testing, specifically assessing system functionality, user interface, and user experience. The results show a reduction in time for administrative tasks such as student enrollment, schedule management, and industry collaboration. The system also achieved improved data accuracy through features such as real-time progress tracking and automated notifications. End-user feedback indicated high satisfaction with the system's usability and interface design. In addition, the system also supports government initiatives for technology integration in education by encouraging collaboration between schools, students and industry partners. The study concludes that the web-based system effectively improves administrative efficiency, promotes transparency and accountability, and prepares students to become a technology-based workforce

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy is a strategic initiative of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to revolutionize the higher education system through increasing student learning flexibility and freedom. The purpose of this study is to explore the academic landscape related to the MBKM policy through a bibliometric approach to identify research trends, publication patterns, academic collaboration, and dominant themes that appear in the scientific literature. The method used is bibliometric analysis by utilizing Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, and Microsoft Excel software on 210 documents obtained from the Dimensions database with the keywords “independent learning” and “higher education”. The results showed a significant increase in publications since 2020 with an annual growth rate of 92.56%, indicating high academic interest in MBKM. The top ten most cited articles raised issues of MBKM curriculum implementation, institutional adaptation challenges, and technology integration in learning. The analysis also revealed extensive collaboration between authors and institutions, as well as a diversity of keywords such as “flexible curriculum”, “project-based learning”, and “industry cooperation”. The discussion in this study highlights that while MBKM offers great potential in enhancing student skills, challenges such as faculty readiness, digital infrastructure, and institutional support still need to be addressed. Therefore, the results of this study provide important insights for higher education policy makers in designing more effective and sustainable MBKM implementation strategies.

Abstract

Advancements in modern technology provide teachers with opportunities to develop their skills in using media and teaching materials. This shift helps transform the instructional paradigms used in school learning processes, making education more modern and high-quality. Therefore, teachers need to be proficient in using information technology to enhance classroom learning, especially in subjects like crafts and entrepreneurship. This study is a quantiative research that focuses on examining the impact of Google Classroom on students' learning motivation, interest, and outcomes. The research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency, with a sample size of 95 eleventh-grade students. The data collected from this study were deemed valid and reliable, particularly concerning the influence of Google Classroom on learning motivation. The research findings were obtained through the use of questionnaires, with 33 respondents, providing data on the Google Classroom variable with a maximum score of 40. This indicates that there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students who were taught using the Online Google Classroom Learning Method and those taught using the conventional learning model in the subject of Crafts and Entrepreneurship for the 10th-grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Tualang in the Odd Semester of the Academic Year 2023/2024.

Abstract

The concept of vocational guidance and counseling in vocational high schools (SMK) plays a crucial role in shaping the future of students. A recent study conducted at SMKS Teknologi YPL Lirik aimed to explore the general overview of guidance and counseling implementation, the steps taken by school principals and teachers, and the challenges faced in this aspect. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the researchers directly collected data through interviews, documentation, and involving key stakeholders such as the school principal, vice principal of student affairs, subject teachers, class advisors, guidance counselors, and students. The gathered data was then analyzed through a process of reduction and interpreted qualitatively to draw conclusions. According to the interviews conducted with school officials, it was revealed that the current guidance and counseling practices at SMKS Teknologi YPL Lirik are inadequate. This is evident from the students' behavior, which tends to be naughty or undisciplined due to family or community environmental factors. To achieve holistic character education through guidance and counseling, the school must establish good cooperation with parents, maintain direct communication with them in case of any issues at school, and find solutions collaboratively to foster positive character growth in both the family and school environments. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the importance of enhancing guidance and counseling practices in vocational high schools to better support students in their personal and academic development. By addressing challenges and strengthening collaboration between school stakeholders, SMKS Teknologi YPL Lirik can create a more conducive environment for students to thrive and succeed in their vocational endeavors.

Abstract

Qualified graduates is supported by an efficient process of education, improvement of competence on an ongoing basis, and appropriate curriculum. The curriculum becomes an important part in education. Each educational institution graduates expect superior quality, good morals, knowledge and competence of skilled labor. Quality of qualified graduates will increase the demand of stakeholders to recruit workers in the industry related. It is necessary to implement a quality program in an effort to provide the best service for educational activities. This study discusses the program carried out by educational and vocational study program in electrical engineering (EEVE) achieve the goal to do assessment by AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) in evaluating the curriculum. AUN-QA aims to conduct quality assurance of courses that a member of AUN, as well as guiding and guide the university to improve and maintain the quality of the university. Researchers use qualitative research using the comparative method of ex-postfacto with the kind of correlational study. The study was conducted with data collection, such as observation, interviews, field observation and documentation study. This research resulted in the development of curriculum in vocational and educational courses in electrical engineering (EEVE), in terms of meeting the basic needs for qualified graduates, competent and professional in accordance with the standards of the AUN-QA. Through this research is expected to be a pattern for other courses to evaluate the curriculum for graduates scored an excellent, competent and qualified

Abstract

Higher education is expected to produce excellent graduates to meet the needs of educated and skilled personnel in the era of industry 4.0. One way of higher education to adjust the development of Science and Technology in the era of industry 4.0 is by enriching the curriculum. Curriculum enrichment can be done by adding a new course, the Image Processing course. Image Processing is a course in Electrical Engineering which discusses data processing and analyze data in the form of images to be used as important information as requested. Image processing courses are widely used in daily life, implementation of image processing courses are found in smartphones, parking systems, medical, television and many others that utilize image processing subjects. The characteristics of this study compared two different groups: the Non-LPTK University (Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan/ Educaitonal Institutions of Educatinal Staff) with the LPTK University to looking for characteristics in covering different subjects with the characteristics of vocational education, but it is related to the characteristics of vocational education in considering matching subjects with digital characteristics in the field of vocational education studies. Curriculum enrichment aims to improve the quality of higher education learning which leads to improve the quality of graduates. The researcher used a qualitative research with a comparative method ex post facto. This research is expected to be a pattern for other universities in applying curriculum enrichment methods.

Abstract

Effective water quality management is the key to maintaining a healthy and sustainable aquarium. The water quality in the aquarium affects the health of fish, plants, and other microorganisms, so it requires monitoring and control. Some water quality parameters that must be considered in ornamental fish aquariums are water pH, water turbidity, and water level in the aquarium. Along with the rapid development of technology, it is expected to make it easier for humans. This study aims to design an aquarium water quality control tool with control using a smartphone. In making this tool, Arduino is used as the control center. In addition, this tool also uses a pH sensor to measure the acidity level of water in the aquarium, uses a Turbidity sensor to measure the turbidity level of water in the aquarium and an Ultrasonic sensor to calculate the water level in the aquarium. The results of the sensor measurements will be displayed on the LCD screen and the Blynk application. The Blynk application display gets data from the NodeMCU ESP32 which is used to send sensor reading data to the Arduino online using the Internet Of Things (IoT). In addition to being used for monitoring, the Blynk application can be used to control water quality control pumps

Abstract

Technological advances have significantly changed many aspects of human life, including shopping activity. The modern retail environment must provide extraordinary customer satisfaction in order to remain competitive. With the Smart Trolley, an automated shopping cart integrated with a payment and pricing system, offers solutions to a shopping challenge that can scan the price of goods. The study explores the development and implementation of Smart Trolley based on client-server architecture and computer vision technology. The Smart Trolley is equipped with a mini PC (Raspberry Pi), a barcode scanner, and an LCD display to display the total cost of goods when they are added to the cart. In addition, it supports non-cash payments and can reduce waiting time at the cashier. Server connections allow real-time monitoring by store staff and prevent fraud. The results of the implementation show that Smart Trolley effectively helps consumers to see the prices of goods, imitate the quarters at the cashier, and improve the security of transactions. This innovative solution aims to simplify the shopping experience, providing a more efficient and comfortable process for consumers in a modern market shopping experience

Abstract

4.0 Industrial Revolution brings significant changes across various aspects of life, including the retail sector. The adoption of automation technology in supermarkets can enhance efficiency and consumer convenience. One of the challenges is the use of conventional shopping carts, which require pushing and pulling, often creating difficulties for customers with physical limitations. To address this issue, this study proposes the development of an automated robotic cart using mechanical wheels. Mecanum wheels enable dynamic movement in all directions without the need to change the wheel orientation, making them a more flexible solution compared to traditional differential wheels. The robotic cart is equipped with four 120 mm mecanum wheels and uses DC motors controlled by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) through an H-bridge circuit and microcontroller. This technology implementation is expected to facilitate smoother cart movement and improve the shopping experience. The study presents the design and kinematic movement of the robot, demonstrating the advantages of using mecanum wheels in enhancing the mobility and flexibility of automated shopping carts
