Abstract

Indonesia, as an agricultural country, has great potential in the agricultural sector, including horticultural commodities such as tomatoes. Post-harvest tomato processing, such as sorting by color and weight, is often done manually, leading to inefficiency and the potential for human error. This research aims to design and build a microcontroller-based tomato sorting conveyor to improve efficiency and product quality. This system utilizes a color sensor to identify the ripeness of tomatoes and a weight sensor to measure their weight. The microcontroller acts as the main controller, processing data from the sensors, making decisions, and regulating the conveyor mechanism to separate the tomatoes into the appropriate lanes. This research is expected to overcome the inefficiency problem in the manual tomato sorting process. With automatic separation by color and weight, the time and labor required are reduced, thereby reducing operational costs. Furthermore, the use of a microcontroller to process data precisely can help ensure that sorted tomatoes meet the desired quality standards. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of microcontroller-based technology in agriculture and serve as a reference for further research

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of gamification-based learning using the Quizizz platform in the Electrical subject at SMK Penerbangan Nusantara Ketaping. The research was motivated by the low student engagement, limited variation in teaching methods, and the lack of optimal integration of technology in the learning process. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, involving an experimental class using Quizizz and a control class applying conventional methods. The research instruments consisted of validated pre-test and post-test questions to measure students' learning outcomes. The data analysis results indicated a significant improvement in the experimental class compared to the control class, as evidenced by normalized gain (N-Gain) and t-test results. These findings suggest that the use of gamification-based digital media such as Quizizz is effective in enhancing students’ engagement and learning outcomes, while also creating a more interactive, enjoyable, and relevant learning experience aligned with vocational education needs.

Abstract

In the Electrical Lighting Installation course, student learning outcomes were found to be below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). Several factors contributed to this issue, including students’ limited understanding of tools and materials as well as their low engagement during learning activities. Therefore, it is essential to adopt an instructional approach that aligns with students’ interests to enhance motivation and participation. Gamified learning using the “Kahoot!” application represents one such approach that can effectively address these challenges. This study employed a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: a control group and an experimental group. The experimental group received treatment through the implementation of gamified learning with “Kahoot!”, while the control group was taught using conventional methods. The research design used was a pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group design, suitable when random assignment of participants is not feasible. The study involved 25 students from class XI TITL 1 (experimental) and 29 students from class XI TITL 2 (control) at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure students’ cognitive learning outcomes before and after the intervention. The results indicated a significant improvement in the experimental group’s learning outcomes compared to the control group. Furthermore, the use of Kahoot! enhanced students’ activeness and engagement during learning activities. These findings demonstrate that the integration of gamified learning through Kahoot! is not only feasible for vocational education but also effective in creating an interactive and motivational learning environment that promotes the achievement of student competencies.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Nagari Koto Gaek Guguak, Kabupaten Solok yang merupakan salah satu sentra produksi pinang iris. Permasalahan utama mitra adalah keterbatasan sumber listrik yang tidak stabil dan mencemari lingkungan dengan pengoperasian mesin pengering berbahan bakar oli bekas yang berdaya rendah. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah membangun sistem solar cell sebagai sumber tenaga listrik alternatif untuk mendukung operasional rumah produksi pinang iris agar lebih efisien, mandiri, dan ramah lingkungan. Metode pelakasanaan antara lain survei kebutuhan energi, perencanaan teknis sistem solar cell berkapasitas daya 900 watt, instalasi peralatan, serta evaluasi kinerja sistem. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan produktivitas pinang iris sebesar ±30%, penghematan biaya listrik hingga ±50%, serta efektif menjaga lingkungan sekitar dalam mengoperasikan teknologi energi terbarukan. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan ialah pemanfaatan solar cell terbukti efektif dalam mendukung produktivitas pinang iris secara mandiri dari segi pemanfaatan energi terbarukan, meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan mendukung tercapainya tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes between a class that used the Quizizz application as a learning medium and a class that applied conventional methods in the subject of Basic Electrical Engineering for Grade X TITL students at SMK Negeri 1 Bonjol. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the study were 56 Grade X TITL students in the 2025/2026 academic year, who were divided into experimental and control groups. The research instrument consisted of a learning achievement test administered in the form of both a pretest and a posttest. Data were analyzed using the t-test to examine the differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results indicated a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class. The average score of students in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, demonstrating that the use of Quizizz is effective as an interactive learning medium to enhance motivation, engagement, and overall student learning outcomes in Basic Electrical Engineering.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes in Analyzing Circuits (MRL) subjects in class X TDTL SMK N 1 Padang by using the active learning strategies type of Everyone is a Teacher Here. This type of research was quasi-experimental. The subjects of the research was class X TDTL with 32 students. The object of the research was active learning strategies type of Everyone Is a Teacher Here. The instrument used was the achievement test by using multiple-choice questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. From the results of the research, data showed the average value of student learning outcomes in the average pretest was 57. While at posttest by applying Active Learning Strategies Everyone is a Teacher Here, it showed an increase of 17.5 points, with an average of 74.5. The learning outcomes were tested by using Gainscore’s formula (g) which obtained 0.337 g with middle score criteria.

Abstract

Pelatihan pemasaran media sosial dan teknik penirisan minyak keripik khas Pokdarwis Pesona Timbulun ini dirancang khusus untuk memberdayakan ibu-ibu yang tergabung dalam kelompok usaha kecil dan menengah (UMKM) di kawasan tersebut. Sebagai pelaku utama dalam produksi keripik tradisional, ibu-ibu ini memiliki peran penting dalam menopang perekonomian keluarga, namun seringkali terkendala dalam memasarkan produk mereka secara efektif dan meningkatkan kualitas produk. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan keterampilan baru kepada para ibu-ibu dalam menggunakan media sosial, seperti Instagram dan Facebook, sebagai platform pemasaran yang lebih luas dan modern. Di samping itu, pelatihan juga memberikan solusi atas masalah kualitas produk melalui teknik penirisan minyak yang lebih efektif, sehingga keripik yang dihasilkan menjadi lebih kering, sehat, dan memiliki daya saing yang lebih tinggi di pasar. Metode pelatihan meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan, yang memungkinkan para peserta untuk memahami teori sekaligus mengaplikasikannya dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Dengan peningkatan keterampilan ini, diharapkan ibu-ibu UMKM Pokdarwis Pesona Timbulun dapat memperluas jangkauan pasar mereka, meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga, dan mengembangkan usaha mereka secara berkelanjutan, sekaligus memberikan kontribusi nyata pada perekonomian lokal.
