Abstract

Artikel ini membahas konsep etnomatematika melalui alat musik tradisional Celentung dan batik bermotif cupat manggu sebagai bagian dari budaya Sunda di Kabupaten Garut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil eksplorasi etnomatematika dengan mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur matematika yang terdapat dalam alat musik tradisional, serta pola geometris dan simetri dalam motif batik Garut. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk memberikan penjelasan mendalam dan komprehensif tentang fenomena yang diteliti. Selain itu, pendekatan etnografi diterapkan untuk memandu metodologi penelitian. Sumber data berasal dari tokoh masyarakat di Leles, Kabupaten Garut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan instrumen utama penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri. Analisis data yang digunakan mengacu pada model Miles dan Huberman, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa budaya Sunda kaya akan konsep matematika, seperti pola, pengukuran, dan proporsi, yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan menarik. This article explores the concept of ethnomathematics through the traditional Celentung musical instrument and the Cupat Manggu batik motif, both of which are part of Sundanese culture in Garut Regency. This study aims to describe the results of ethnomathematics exploration by identifying mathematical elements found in traditional musical instruments, as well as geometric patterns and symmetry in Garut batik motifs. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research design to provide an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the phenomena under investigation. Furthermore, an ethnographic approach was applied to guide the research methodology. Data sources came from community leaders in Leles, Garut Regency. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the researcher herself as the primary research instrument. The data analysis method used refers to the Miles and Huberman model, which encompasses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results reveal that Sundanese culture is rich in mathematical concepts, such as patterns, measurement, and proportion, which can be utilized as contextual and engaging mathematics learning media.

Abstract

Berpikir kreatif merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang dilatihkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan pendidik di salah satu sekolah di Kabupaten Bandung, siswa masih sering menganggap matematika itu sulit dan membosankan. Siswa masih kesulitan memahami materi dasar salah satunya segi empat. Terdapat permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran yaitu: Siswa mengalami keterbatasan dalam menjawab soal materi segi empat, dan partisipasi belajar siswa masih sangat rendah yang mengakibatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kurang terlatih. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan Permainan Pos Math yang mempunyai fasilitas untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kreatif sebagai solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada pembelajaran segiempat dengan menggunakan permainan pos math. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan partisipan siswa kelas VII SMP sebanyak 41 orang. Instrumen tes digunakan untuk pengumpulan data. Lembar jawaban siswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik constant-comparison. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sebesar 83,17 sehingga termasuk dalam kategori sangat kreatif. Simpulan utama penelitian ini adalah bahwa post-math game sangat baik digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika, khususnya untuk materi segi empat. Salah satu implikasi hasil penelitian ini adalah peneliti dapat menawarkan penerapan post-math game untuk pembelajaran segi empat pada kelas yang relevan. Creative thinking is one of the skills trained in mathematics learning. Based on interviews with educators at one of the schools in Bandung Regency, students still often think mathematics is difficult and boring. Students still have difficulty understanding basic material, one of which is quadrilaterals. There are problems in the learning process, namely: Students experience limitations in answering rectangular material questions, and student learning participation is still very low, which results in students' creative thinking abilities being poorly trained. This research implements the Pos Math Game which has facilities for practicing creative thinking skills as a solution to this problem. This research aims to describe students' creative thinking abilities in quadrilateral learning using pos math games. This research used a qualitative approach with 41 class VII junior high school students as participants. Test instruments were used for data collection. Students' answer sheets were analyzed using the constant-comparison technique. Based on the results of the analysis, the average score for students' creative thinking abilities was 83.17, so it was included in the very creative category. The main conclusion of this study is that post-math games are very good to use in learning mathematics, especially for quadrilateral material. One implication of the results of this study is that researchers can offer the application of post-math games for quadrilateral learning in other classes.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the pattern of human life, including the education sector. The rapid development of digital technology is very helpful in overcoming learning problems during a pandemic as well as accelerating digital transformation in the education sector, both online learning methods and the use of digital simulations as learning technology. This study aims to measure the level of digital literacy skills of students based on the characteristics of students entering the new normal era. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The population is all students studying in Depok City with a sample of 410 students obtained by random sampling. The results of the study showed that the level of student digital literacy skills of 75.3% could be included in the Good category. There is no significant difference in the level of digital literacy ability based on gender and student residence, but there is a different trend based on age and year of study, where the higher the age or year of study the higher the level of digital literacy ability, and based on the source of tuition fees for scholarship recipients. Full level indicates a higher level of digital literacy ability. In conclusion, the level of digital literacy of students could be included in the Good category. There is no difference in the level of digital literacy ability based on the gender and place of residence of students, but there are different trends based on age, year of study, and source of student tuition fees.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of mathematics learning designs for educators and students at the junior high school (SMP) level. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with the research subjects being junior high school mathematics educators and seventh grade students. The research instruments used were interview sheets and questionnaire sheets. The results of the study show that there are still many students who are constrained and have difficulty understanding online mathematics learning. Then educators also still lack variety in interesting learning media for students, so they don't get bored and are passionate about learning mathematics. The conclusion from this study is that the design of mathematics learning at the junior high school level is still in the less category because there are still many students who have difficulty learning and understanding mathematics and there are still many educators who do not yet have an attractive learning design and increase the enthusiasm for learning for students, so a design is needed. game-based learning. The benefits of this research can be used as a preliminary study to conduct further research on junior high school mathematics learning design.

Abstract

This research was conducted because of the low interest and results of students' mathematics learning. In addition, there is no learning media that is interesting and produces student learning. The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics of professional interactive mathematics learning media assisted by Adobe Flash to increase the interest and learning outcomes of junior high school students. The research method uses the Rzz&D method and experiments with the Dick and Carrey research design. The subjects of this study were class VII junior high school students. The instruments used were validation sheets, student response questionnaires to the media, learning interest questionnaires, and student learning achievement tests. The media corresponded to the problem-based learning model and the discovery learning model. good characteristics to increase interest and learning outcomes and have valid, practical, and effective media qualities.

Abstract

This research supported by the lack of student’s mathematical understanding ability, and the need for the development of linear programming material for students.The purposes of this research are: to  describe the  characteristics of linear programming material written with problem-based learning model, and assess  the quality of material considered from validity, practicality, and effectiveness.The research used quantitative  and qualitative approaches, with research and development method, in form of Dick and Carey’s design. Research was conducted at one of senior high school in Bandung. The instruments used are: validation’s sheets, the mathematical understanding test, observation sheets, and questionnaire. According to the data processing and analysis of the development of material, researcher have two conclusions. The first conclusion, characteristic of material developed was:  based on the curriculum 2013 standard with a KI-1 not specified in teaching materials and some KI-2 not all included in material, the presentation of material developed according to a problem-based learning model, and equipped with a problem, examples, exercise about, and evaluate compiled based on an indicator of mathematical understanding ability. The second conclusions, instruction materials developed was valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The research in this thesis was based on the low ability of mathematical reasoning of students in mathematics learning. One of the alternatives which could be applied to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning of students needed an interesting learning and an independent thinking to understand subject material according to his ability by model problem posing. The method used in this research was a quasi experimental method with Nonequivalent Pretest-posttest Control Group Design. The research was conducted at one of the state junior high schools in Bandung District. Population in this research was all students of class VIII with a sample of students in class VIII-F as an experimental class and class VIII-G as a control class. The instrument used was a mathematical reasoning ability test, and observation sheet. According to the analysis result of Man-Whitney test in mathematical reasoning ability of student were obtained decisions that increasing the mathematical reasoning ability of student whose learning used problem posing model was better than student whose learning used discovery learning model.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of teaching tools that suit the needs of students and the low ability of mathematical communication and interest in learning. This is the main reason for the need to develop student worksheets using eliciting activities models related to mathematical communication skills and learning interest. This study aims to determine the feasibility of student worksheets developed. This research method is Research and Development with the ADDIE design. The data source in this study is an expert validator. The data collection instrument used was the expert validation sheet. Data were analyzed using percentages which were concluded according to qualifications. Based on the analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the student worksheets developed are feasible to be used for learning mathematics. It is suggested that the developed student worksheets can be an alternative teaching tool in mathematics, and it is necessary to carry out further research in order to obtain quality and general student worksheets. Keywords: student worksheets, eliciting activity models, mathematical communication skills, interest in learning.

Abstract

In the process of learning mathematics there is a very important and inseparable process of solving problems. Mathematical problems are still always found difficult by students in the process of solving them, so not many students can do problem solving even though students are required to be able to solve math problems until they find the right answer for the problem. The purpose of this study was to describe the answers of class VIII SMP students in solving SPLDV questions in terms of mathematical problem solving abilities. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subjects in this study consisted of three students, each of whom had problem solving abilities based on high, medium and low categories. The results of this study were that students in class VIII B at SMP Pasundan 1 Banjaran in the high category could complete the problem solving stages according to Polya and were able to explain the process of solving SPLDV questions. For students in the medium category, they are able to explain the process of solving SPLDV questions, but they are still not quite right in completing the problem solving stages according to Polya. Meanwhile, students in the low category could not complete the problem solving steps according to Polya in solving SPLDV questions.

Abstract

Mahasiswa mempunyai peran strategis sebagai agent of change. Kuliah kerja nyata (KKN) adalah salah satu wujud pengabdian mahasiswa perguruan tinggi kepada masyarakat melalui pemberian bantuan pemberdayaan, pelatihan, penyuluhan, pembimbingan, pendampingan, dan untuk menyadarkan potensi yang dimiliki serta membantu meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan pembangunan. Mahasiswa akan mendapatkan kemampuan generatif berupa life skills (keterampilan hidup). Observasi ini dilakukan dengan metode : (1) wawancara, (2) berpartisipasi ke lapangan secara langsung, dan (3) dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi maka ditentukan program kerja KKN kelompok divisi sosial yang akan dilaksanakan meliputi program : (1) perlombaan HUT RI, (2) pengajian, (3) jumsih (Jum'at bersih), (4) pensi (Pentas Seni), dan (5) senam. Secara keseluruhan program kerja terlaksana sesuai dengan perencanaan. Keberhasilan dilihat dari jumlah partisipasi dan dukungan masyarakat RW 07 Desa Sindulang dalam semua kegiatan. Semua kegiatan berjalan dengan hasil yang tidak mengecewakan, hal ini terbukti dari opini masyarakat secara umum. Dengan demikian, setelah kegiatan sosial berakhir diharapkan masyarakat dapat terus mengembangkan segala potensi yang ada.
