Abstract

Web-based inquiry is an intermediary medium that supports broad sharing of data and ideas, in visualizing, analyzing, and offering knowledge integration. This study aims to analyze the scope of scientific research related to web-based inquiry using bibliometric studies starting from the last 10 years. Database information is obtained from Scopus indexed papers, via the Publish or Perish application. Based on the search and selection results, 65 articles were obtained which were then reviewed with Zotero and processed with the VOS viewer. The analysis used is based on the title area, according to web-based inquiry in supporting science education research. Overall, this study provides information regarding research opportunities in science learning with web-based inquiry, especially during this pandemic. This research also illustrates the publication opportunities in various countries that have a high interest in the topic of inquiry. The mapping of the bibliometric results also supports the scientific explanation between the theory and the evidence of probability. Therefore, the literature is expected to be a reference for further science research.

Abstract

This study aims to identify science learning activities for junior high school students. The research design is descriptive and quantitative. The sample in this study was 38 students, and the questions tested consisted of 28 items analyzed by Rasch analysis. Question items are correct if students can answer questions according to their guided inquiry abilities. The results showed that almost all samples could not participate in science learning using guided inquiry. Of the 28 questions tested on students, only three had a score above 50%, and the rest were almost, on average, below 50%. It can be concluded that students have yet to realize that guided inquiry is the essence of science learning, which helps them conduct and develop science learning in the classroom. This study recommends the application of guided inquiry to students to be able to harmonize thinking in science learning in junior high school.

Abstract

Technology has a vital role in the field of education. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the learning system has become more flexible. To keep making arrangements according to the development of the situation in the classroom and to avoid student passivity, an online platform is needed that involves students in conducting investigations. The study aimed to determine the student’s ability to understand the concepts in the discussion of Archimedes' Law.The participants involved consisted of 53 grade 7 junior high school students. The method used was descriptive quantitative to investigate students' inquiry abilities and determine their understanding of concepts. The research on concept mastery shows a significant difference in using web inquiry environment after the treatment. Therefore, the web inquiry environment is essential to improve students' concept mastery.Implementing the web inquiry environment is recommended to consider topics with experiments to ensure that all inquiry processes can be carried out efficiently.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of educators for the development of interactive learning media based on the STEM-PBL approach to train system thinking skills. This study uses a mixed method with an explanatory design. Quantitative data was obtained through distributing online questionnaires using Google Forms to 154 educators at State Elementary Schools in South Lampung and then conducting in-depth interviews with random sampling. The results of the study revealed that interactive learning media is needed, especially those oriented to the growth of students' system thinking. In addition, educators need a number of new skills in integrating innovative learning media with problem-solving-oriented STEM approaches in daily life

Abstract

The integration of innovative approaches in science education has become essential in 21st-century learning, particularly in regions with abundant local resources that remain underutilized as educational assets. This research aims to develop and assess the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of a sciencepreneurship-based practicum guide integrating Maluku's local potential (lemon cui, cajuput, clove, and gandaria) to enhance students' conceptual mastery. The study employed a Research and Development design using the Borg and Gall model, involving 20 science education students and validation by three experts. Data were analyzed qualitatively through descriptive analysis and quantitatively using N-gain analysis and t-test. Results demonstrated expert validation achieved highly feasible scores (content: 89%, media: 98%, language: 88%), stude nt responses indicated high practicality (89%), and significant effectiveness with N-gain of 0.71 (high category) and significant t-test results (p = 0.023 < 0.05) between pretest (x̄ = 47.75) and posttest (x̄ = 84.75). The developed guide successfully bridges theoretical knowledge with practical entrepreneurial applications, creating meaningful learning experiences that contribute to sustainable development goals and preserve local wisdom.

Abstract

Creative thinking ability is one of the High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). This ability is an important part of developing learning in the 21st century based on technological advances, especially communication and information technology. IPAS is one of the new subjects contained in the Merdeka curriculum, providing teachers with the opportunity to develop teaching materials to answer the challenges of changing the 21st century learning mindset. One of the teaching materials developed is Discovery Learning-based LKPD which aims to improve students' creative thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of developing Discovery Learning-based LKPD IPAS. The development model used is a modified 4D model, while the research subjects are fourth grade students of SDN 02 Tambahrejo Pringsewu. From the results of the validity and effectiveness tests conducted, it was found that the Discovery Learning-based IPAS LKPD was valid and effective for use in improving students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a higher level thinking ability. In reality, students still have difficulty thinking critically when learning science. An effort is needed to improve critical thinking skills. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of LKPD based on the Discovery Learning learning model in improving elementary school students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental. This research involved 84 elementary school students in class V. The research sample consisted of 68 students. Data collection in this research was obtained from a learning outcomes test in the form of 12 essay questions. Data obtained was tested for normality and homogeneity and then analyzed using the t-test. In the experimental class the highest score was 85, the lowest score was 40, the average was 70.36, with a standard deviation of 9.36. In the control class the highest score was 48.7, the lowest score was 5, the average was 20.2, with a standard deviation of 8.94. In the process, students in the experimental class showed better critical thinking skills than control class students. From the results of this research it can be seen that the value of t_count = 41.12 > table = 1.668, so the hypothesis or H1 is accepted, thus the use of LKPD based on the Discovery Learning learning model has an effect on critical thinking skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to develop student worksheets (LKPD) based on discovery learning in learning rain cycle material and measuring students' high order thinking skills. The discovery learning method allows students to actively explore concepts and connect information from various sources, so it is hoped that they can improve their critical thinking skills. The LKPD developed will include exploration, observation and reflection activities that will enable students to identify rain cycles. In addition, the HOTS measurement instrument will be used by students before and after using the LKPD. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the development of more effective science learning and increase student HOTS. By understanding how discovery learning can influence HOTS abilities, educators can design learning strategies that are better and relevant to students' needs

Abstract

The use of Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Discovery Learning is an interesting approach in an effort to increase students' scientific literacy. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of Discovery Learning-based LKPD in increasing students' scientific literacy. This research uses the ADDIE research model with research subjects totaling 30 students in class IV UPTD SDN 23 Negeri Katon. This development research has produced Student Worksheets (LKPD) which have been tested through validation and evaluation, and declared "Very Valid" and "Very Appropriate" for use. The LKPD that has been created has gone through a process that is in accordance with the recommendations and benefits according to experts. The research results show that the use of Discovery Learning-based LKPD significantly increases students' understanding of science concepts compared to conventional learning methods. The implication of this research is the importance of integrating Discovery Learning-based LKPD in science learning to increase students' scientific literacy at the elementary school level.
