Abstract

Scientific literacy is a very important competency to pay attention to so that students can use science in their lives. The results of teacher interviews stated that scientific literacy learning at SMP Negeri 10 Payakumbuh was still not being implemented optimally. There needs to be a learning model that supports students' scientific literacy, one of which is the Reading to Learn (R2L) model. This research aims to determine the effect of the Reading to Learn learning model on the scientific literacy of students at SMP Negeri 10 Payakumbuh on Ecology and Biodiversity material. The type of research used in this research is quasi-experimental with a quantitative approach. The research design used was Posttest Only Control Group Design. This research design involves two groups, namely the experimental group which will receive treatment applying the R2L model in learning and the control group which will receive conventional learning. The data obtained were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model on student learning outcomes on the material of the human excretory system. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Pangkalan for the academic year 2021-2022. The method used in this study is a Quasi Experiment method, with a research design that is Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this study was class VIII.1 as the experimental class which was treated using the Learning Cycle 5E model and class VIII.2 as the control class which was treated using the Conventional model. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is a written test instrument in the form of multiple choice as many as 20 questions that have been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty index and discriminatory power using the help of Anates V4. The hypothesis test used is the Independent Sample T-test with the help of SPSS Version 26 and the value sig = 0.000 < 0.05 with the decision H0 is rejected. The results of this study indicate that the average N-Gain learning outcomes of students using the Learning Cycle 5E model are higher than the average N-Gain learning outcomes of students using the Conventional model on the human excretory system material in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pangkalan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of the jigsaw cooperative learning model on improving cognitive learning outcomes of 9th grade junior high school students on static electricity. This research was conducted at SMPN 31 Padang in an odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The type of research used is Quasi Experiment. The research design to be used is a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample used was class IX B as an experimental class with a jigsaw cooperative learning model and class IX A as a control class with a conventional learning model. The instrument used in this study was written in the form of multiple choice questions of 20 questions. While the test analysis was carried out using Microsoft Excel, the calculation of the hypothesis test was carried out by the t test after the prerequisite test was carried out, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The results of the t-test calculation obtained tcount = 3.83 and ttable = 2.01, where tcount > ttable, thus H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This shows that there is an influence of the jigsaw cooperative learning model on the cognitive learning outcomes of class IX junior high school students on static electricity.

Abstract

Implementing the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia presents challenges in educational assessment, especially in efficiently evaluating students' essay responses. This study aims to develop and test an educational evaluation model based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, especially the vision language model, which can automate and improve the process of assessing student learning outcomes in science. This study explores the potential of Vision Language Models (VLMs) as an innovative solution. This study uses a mixed sequential explanatory method. The subjects in this study were junior high school students. The data collection method used interviews. Data collection instruments with questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used were qualitative, quantitative, descriptive analysis, and inferential statistics. The study results are that integrating VLMs increases the efficiency and objectivity of assessment. This study concludes that VLMs can reduce teacher workload, improve feedback, and show synergy between technology and curriculum reform in the Independent Curriculum era. The implications of this study are very significant for the development of science and technology education; the use of vision language models (Vision-Language Models) in evaluating science education can increase the accuracy and objectivity in assessing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is based on problems in science learning, namely students' lack of interest in reading. One way to increase students' reading interest is by using creative, innovative and interactive learning media. Therefore, this research was carried out by developing a product in the form of a Science E-Comic on the theme, let's get to know the human respiratory and excretory organ systems. This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of products in the form of Science E-Comics on the theme, let's get to know the human respiratory and excretory organ systems. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) or development research using the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analyze, design, development, Implementation, and evaluation. Considering the limited time and costs, this research was limited to the implementation stage. The results of the IPA E-Comics validity score of 0.89 are in the very valid category. The practicality of IPA E-Comics obtained an average score of 0.94, which is in the very high category. The effectiveness of IPA E-Comics obtained a fairly large N-Gain score, namely 0.70, which is included in the high category. Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that Science E-Comics are declared very valid, very practical and effective in increasing students' reading interest in science learning.

Abstract

The development of the times requires every country to have rapid progress. Good education produces quality human resources. The influence of education plays a very important role in the human resources produced. Education continues to change according to the times. Innovation continues to be carried out in order to provide better quality education, both in learning models and learning strategies. Learning carried out by schools does not only focus on models but must choose the right strategy where students are trained to independently seek and find solutions to each problem found in learning. One strategy that can be applied in learning is problem solving learning strategies. Type of Quasi-Experimental research or quasi-experimental research. This Quasi Experimental Research aims to see whether or not there is an effect of giving certain treatments to the study group. The research design that will be used is a Pretest-Posttest control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The sample consisted of an experimental class applying problem solving learning strategies and a control class applying conventional learning models. Based on hypothesis testing which has been carried out with the help of Microsoft Excel using the U test technique with a significance level of 5%. The obtained values for are -4.67 and -1.96. Then H₁ is accepted and H₀ is rejected. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the use of problem solving learning strategies influences the learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 15 Padang City.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in science subjects at SMPN 4 Pariaman. For this reason, in the teaching process it is necessary to use appropriate learning models. One learning model that can be used is the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of implementing the PjBL learning model on the learning outcomes of class VII students at SMPN 4 Pariaman in the subjects of Ecology and Indonesian Biodiversity. This research uses a quasi-experimental type of research with a non-equivalent control group design. The research population was class VII students of SMPN 4 Pariaman TP.2023/2024, with a purposive sampling technique. Class VII.1 was chosen as the experimental class and class VII.2 as the control class. The experimental class uses the PjBL model, while the control class uses the conventional model. The instruments used were observation sheets on the implementation of the PjBL model and objective test questions adapted to the KKTP on Indonesian Ecology and Biodiversity material. The data obtained was analyzed and prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests were carried out. The results of the posttest value hypothesis test using the t test show tcount of 8.13 and ttable 2.00. The data shows tcount > ttable so that H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant difference between the average posttest scores of experimental class and control class students after being given different treatment. It can be concluded that providing treatment by applying the PjBL model has an influence on student learning outcomes in Indonesian Ecology and Biodiversity Material for class VII SMPN 4 Pariaman.
