Abstract

Palm has a good market prospect in the future. Almost all parts of this commodity have their benefits, ranging from the leaves to the roots and from upstream to downstream. However, it would be a big problem to determine the most viable commodity to be developed for hundreds of alternatives derivative palm oil products. This paper aims to present an application to help in deciding between multiple options of derivative products of palm oil. The application is built in Visual Basic Macro within Microsoft Excel (Macro Excel) by using the decision matrix method. It will allow to establish the concept of weighting the criteria in order of importance by scoring them against different criteria. The most important criteria, the higher weighting it will be given. So that the proposed application can be implemented to evaluate which are the most valuable coin from all levels of derivative products in the Palm Oil supply chain.

Abstract

Indonesia is a densely populated country where most people use motorcycles for mobility. With increasing carbon emissions, Indonesia plans to migrate conventional motorcycles toward electric ones by 2040. However, the adoption process of electric motorcycles is relatively slow, considering that the number of electric motorcycles is still far from the government's target. This study aims to investigate what factors influence the adoption process of electric motorcycles in Indonesia. Based on 906 samples, an analysis was conducted using a hybrid choice model on willingness to pay more, which considered three components: socio-demographics, Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and travel behavior patterns. The results showed that all three components significantly affect the willingness to pay more. Individuals who are older, highly educated, high-income, use public or environmentally friendly transportation, and have a low frequency of mobility for work purposes are more likely to purchase an electric motorcycle. The results of this study provide a new perspective in the unique context of electric motorcycle adoption in Indonesia and conditions that still need improvement when related to the government's long-term targets. This research will be helpful for governments and manufacturers by providing the characteristics of people who are more likely to purchase an electric motorcycle.

Abstract

Abstract

The need for housing for Indonesian people is increasing yearly due to the high population growth rate. This fact can gradually trigger global warming. There is a need for intervention in the residential sector to minimize the resulting negative impacts by developing a green building concept. This study uses an extended Theory of Planned Behavior to identify the factors influencing purchase intention and willingness to pay for green housing (GH) in the Jabodetabek community. The study collected 347 valid responses through a survey with a purposive sampling method and used structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses. The factors raised in this study are attitudes, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, environmental concern, subjective knowledge, policy, perceived risks, green communication, green purchase intentions (GPI), and willingness to pay (WTP). This research proves that attitude, policy, and subjective knowledge factors significantly directly affect GPI. Meanwhile, environmental concerns and subjective knowledge can also significantly and indirectly affect GPI. This study also proves a significant influence between GPI and WTP for GH in the Jabodetabek community. Perceived risk has a significant negative impact on the GPI. Additionally, developers can employ a strategy that combines attitude, subjective knowledge, and environmental concern to design programs that address consumers' cognitive and affective aspects. The government can also play a role in promoting the use of GH through incentives related to green construction.

Abstract

In general, the problem of production and distribution in the paper supply chain is the integration of plansto minimize total costs. Delivery times are required to be fast, sometimes not fulfilled due to problems inthe production and distribution process. One of the problems with newspaper companies in Surakarta is theslow distribution process due to the determination of the wrong distribution channel. This article aims tosolve the problem of determining the route of a newspaper company in the city of Surakarta by comparingtwo alternative choices, where the first alternative uses two fleets and the second alternative uses threefleets. This research uses the Sweep Algorithm and the Nearest Neighbor method in order to minimizetime and cost and to determine the best delivery path. From the results of data processing, it was found thatthe best proposal was the first alternative, namely by using two fleets because the distance traveled wasshorter with a difference of 0.45 km and resulted in savings of Rp. 467,940.00 every month.

Abstract

The adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is one of the solutions to reduce emission problems. Vehicle cost analysis is one of the keys to seizing the Indonesian market. As a consumer, it is not only the purchase price that needs to be considered, but the life cycle costs throughout ownership also need to be considered in the purchase. This study discusses the life cycle cost (LCC) of EVs in Indonesia, especially electric motorcycles (EMs), which will be compared with conventional motorcycles (CMs). In particular, this study aims to encourage the government's target for ownership of 2.1 million EMs in Indonesia by 2025. The novelty of this research is to develop a more comprehensive LCC model by considering the costs in terms of tangible and intangible to compare the two types of motorcycles using Monte Carlo simulation. This simulation is used to coordinate the behavioral uncertainty of motorcycle users. As a result, the value of an EM is more economical than CM for various users. The average value percentage of EMs is lower than CMs by 45% (IDR 30,6 million). In addition, several scenarios are also analyzed to maximize consumer welfare in Indonesia.

Abstract

In 2019, the number of conventional vehicles in Indonesia reached 133,617,012 units, dominated by motorcycles of 112,771,136 units and passenger cars of 15,592,419 units. The high number of conventional motorcycle users can increase the number of pollutants and combustion emissions in the environment. This condition has encouraged the transition to a sustainable transport system that will be needed for decades to come, especially for the electric motorcycle to resolve the issue. This research aims to predict and estimate the market share of electric motorcycles by considering life cycle cost per kilometer. System dynamics simulations are developed to model the adoption-diffusion of electric motorcycles in Indonesia. This model has four main modules: an electric motorcycle module, a conventional motorcycle module, an economy module, and a consumer market module. This model shows a positive trend of EM market share from 2021-2030, with the market share value of EM is 0,411 in 2030. The development of retail price subsidy and electricity price scenarios is also carried out to determine the right policies to accelerate the adoption-diffusion process. Based on the scenario, the provision of retail price subsidy and a decrease in electricity price can increase the value of the EM Market Share.
